1 Chronicles 9

1 So all Israel was recorded in the genealogies written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. But Judah was exiled to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.

Voilà tout Israël et son dénombrement, et ceux qui furent inscrits au livre des Rois d'Israël et de Juda, après qu'ils eurent été transportés à Babylone à cause de tous leurs péchés,

2 Now the first to resettle their own property in their cities were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.

Et ceux qui les premiers revinrent en leurs possessions et dans les villes d'Israël, prêtres, lévites et autres à qui cela fut permis.

3 These were some of the descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh who lived in Jerusalem:

Jérusalem fut repeuplée par des fils de Juda, des fils de Benjamin, des fils d'Ephraïm et des fils de Manassé.

4 Uthai son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, a descendant of Perez son of Judah.

Il y eut parmi eux: Nothi, fils de Samiud, fils d'Amri, fils d'Ambraïm, fils de Buni, issus des fils de Pharès, fils de Juda,

5 From the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

Et de la famille de Seléni Asaie premier-né, et ses fils,

6 From the Zerahites: Jeuel and 690 relatives.

Issus de Zara; puis, Jehel et leurs frères au nombre de six cent quatre- vingt-dix.

7 From the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;

Et des fils de Benjamin: Salem, fils de Mosollam, fils d'Odes, fils d'Asinu.

8 Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

Et Jemnaa, fils de Jéroboam et Elo ceux-ci étaient issus d'Ozi, fils de Machir), et Mosollam, fils de Saphatia, fils de Raguel, fils de Jemnaï,

9 and 956 of their relatives according to their genealogy. All these men were heads of their families.

Et leurs frères, selon leur naissance, au nombre de neuf cent cinquante- six, tous chefs de familles dans leur tribu.

10 From the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, and Jachin;

Et parmi les prêtres: Jodaé, et Joarim, et Jachin;

11 Azariah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the chief official of God’s temple;

Et Azarias, fils d'Helcias, fils de Mosollam, fils de Sadoc, fils de Maraïoth, fils d'Achitob, grand prêtre du temple du Seigneur.

12 Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; Maasai son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

Et Adaie, fils d'Ira, fils de Phaschor, fils de Melchia, et Maasaïa, fils d'Adiel, fils d'Ezira, fils de Mosollam, fils de Maselmoth, fils d'Emmer;

13 and 1,760 of their relatives, the heads of their families, able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

Et leurs frères, chefs de familles dans leur tribu, au nombre de dix-sept cent soixante, hommes vaillants et forts employés au temple de Dieu.

14 From the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;

Et des lévites: Saulaie, fils d'Asob, fils d'Ezricam, fils d'Asahia, des fils de Mérari.

15 Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;

Et Bacbacar, Arès, Galaal et Matthanias, fils de Micha, fils de Zéchri, fils d'Asaph.

16 Obadiah son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

Et Abdias, fils de Samias, fils de Galaal, fils d'Idithun, et Barachie, fils d'Ossa, fils d'Elcana, qui demeurait dans les bourgs de Notephati.

17 These were the gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives. Shallum was their chief;

Les portiers étaient: Salom, Acum, Telmon et Diman, et ses frères; Salom était leur chef.

18 he was previously stationed at the King’s Gate on the east side. These were the gatekeepers from the camp of the Levites.

Et jusqu'à ce jour, le chef est attaché à la porte royale du côté de l'orient; les portes sont les mêmes que celles des camps des fils de Lévi.

19 Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives from the Korahites were assigned to guard the thresholds of the Tent, just as their fathers had been assigned to guard the entrance to the dwelling of the LORD.

Or, Sellum était fils de Coré, fils d'Abiasaph, fils de Coré, et ses frères les Coréites, entre autres services dans le temple, gardaient le tabernacle; et leurs pères dans les camps du Seigneur en avaient gardé l'entrée.

20 In earlier times Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of the gatekeepers, and the LORD was with him.

Et Phinéès, fils d'Eléazar, avait été leur chef devant le Seigneur, et après lui ceux ci-dessus nommés.

21 Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

Zacharie, fils de Mosollam, gardait la porte du tabernacle du témoignage.

22 The number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed them to their positions of trust.

Tous ceux qu'on avait choisis pour garder les portes du temple étaient au nombre de deux cent douze; ils étaient dénombrés selon leurs résidences; David et Samuel le voyant les avaient institués, s'en remettant à leur foi.

23 So they and their descendants were assigned to guard the gates of the house of the LORD—the house called the Tent.

Et eux et leurs fils gardaient les portes du temple, et, dans le temple, le tabernacle.

24 The gatekeepers were stationed on the four sides: east, west, north, and south.

Les portes regardaient les quatre vents du côté de l'orient, de la mer, de Borée et de Notos.

25 Their relatives came from their villages at fixed times to serve with them for seven-day periods.

Et leurs frères demeuraient dans leurs résidences, et en partaient pour qu'ils fussent relevés de sept en sept jours, à partir du jour du sabbat.

26 But the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the rooms and the treasuries of the house of God.

A quatre chefs étaient confiés les gardiens des portes, et les lévites veillaient à ce quel nul ne s'introduisît furtivement dans les chambres, ni dans le trésor du temple du Seigneur.

27 They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they were responsible for guarding it and opening it every morning.

Car la garde leur en était remise, et ils en avaient les clefs, et chaque matin dès l'aurore ils ouvraient les portes du lieu saint;

28 Some of them were in charge of the articles used in worship, to count them whenever they were brought in or taken out.

Et quelques-uns des leurs étaient chargés du service des vases, qu'on ne déplaçait pas sans qu'ils les eussent comptés.

29 Others were put in charge of the furnishings and other articles of the sanctuary, as well as the fine flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices.

Et d'autres avaient la surveillance des provisions destinées aux choses saintes: de la fleur de farine, du vin, de l'huile, de, l'encens, des aromates.

30 And some of the sons of the priests mixed the spices.

Et ceux qui préparaient les parfums et les aromates étaient pris parmi les fils des prêtres.

31 A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread.

Et Matthathias, issu de Lévi, fils premier-né de Salom le Coréite, avait la surveillance de tout ce qui se préparait après les sacrifices dans la poêle à frire du grand prêtre.

32 Some of their Kohathite brothers were responsible for preparing the rows of the showbread every Sabbath.

Et Banaïas, issu de ses frères, de la maison de Caath, était chargé des pains de proposition que l'on consacrait de sabbat en sabbat.

33 Those who were musicians, the heads of Levite families, stayed in the temple chambers and were exempt from other duties because they were on duty day and night.

Et les chefs des chantres-harpistes, de la famille des lévites, étaient désignés chaque jour, car jour et nuit ils étaient employés;

34 All these were heads of Levite families, chiefs according to their genealogies, and they lived in Jerusalem.

Et les chefs distribués par familles demeuraient à Jérusalem.

35 Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maacah.

Or, Jehel avait habité Gabaon, qu'il avait fondée; et sa femme se nommait Moocha.

36 Abdon was his firstborn son, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

Noms de ses fils: Abdon, premier-né; puis, Sur, Cis, Baal, Ner et Nadab,

37 Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.

Gedur et son frère, et Zachur et Maceloth.

38 Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They too lived alongside their relatives in Jerusalem.

Et Maceloth engendra Samaa, et ceux-ci demeurèrent à Jérusalem au milieu de leurs frères.

39 Ner was the father of Kish, Kish was the father of Saul, and Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.

Et Ner engendra Cis, et Cis engendra Saül, et Saül engendra Jonathas, et Melchisué, et Aminadab et Asabal.

40 The son of Jonathan: Merib-baal, who was the father of Micah.

Et Jonathas engendra Meribaal, et Meribaal engendra Micha.

41 The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.

Fils de Micha: Phithon, Malach et Tharach.

42 Ahaz was the father of Jarah; Jarah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri was the father of Moza.

Et Achaz engendra Juda, et Juda engendra Galemeth, Gazmoth et Zambri, et Zambri engendra Massa;

43 Moza was the father of Binea. Rephaiah was his son, Elasah his son, and Azel his son.

Et Massa engendra Baana, et Raphaïe son fils, et Elasa son fils, et Esel son fils.

44 And Azel had six sons, and these were their names: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.

Et Esel eut six fils, et voici leurs noms: Ezricam, le premier-né; puis, Ismaël, Saraïa, Abdias, Anan et Asa; voilà les fils d'Esel.
