1 Chronicles 5
1 These were the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel. Though he was the firstborn, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, because Reuben defiled his father’s bed. So he is not reckoned according to birthright.
イスラエルの長子ルベンの子等は左のごとしルベンは長子なりしがその父の床を瀆ししによりてその長子の權はイスラエルの子ヨセフの子等に與へらる然れども系譜は長子の權にしたがひて記すべきに非ず
2 And though Judah prevailed over his brothers and a ruler came from him, the birthright belonged to Joseph.
そはユダその諸兄弟に勝る者となりて君たる者その中より出ればなり但し長子の權はヨセフに屬す
3 The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
即ちイスラエルの長子ルベンの子等はハノク、パル、ヘヅロン、カルミ
4 The descendants of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
ヨエルの子はシマヤ その子はゴグ その子はシメイ
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
その子はミカ その子はレアヤ その子はバアル
6 and Beerah his son, whom Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria carried into exile. Beerah was a leader of the Reubenites.
その子はベエラ このべエラはアッスリヤの王テルガテピルネセルに擄へられてゆけり彼はルベン人の中に牧伯たる者なりき
7 His relatives by their clans are recorded in their genealogy: Jeiel the chief, Zechariah,
彼の兄弟等はその宗族に依りその歴代の系譜によれば左のごとし長ヱイエルおよびゼカリヤ
8 and Bela son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel. They settled in Aroer and as far as Nebo and Baal-meon.
ベラ等なりベラはアザズの子シマの孫ヨエルの曾孫なりかれアロエルに住みて地をネボ、バアルメオンにまでおよぼししが
9 They also settled in the east as far as the edge of the desert that extends to the Euphrates River, because their livestock had increased in the land of Gilead.
ギレアデの地にてその家畜殖増ければまた地を東の方ユフラテ河の此方なる荒野の極端にまでおよぼせり
10 During the days of Saul they waged war against the Hagrites, who were defeated at their hands, and they occupied the homes of the Hagrites throughout the region east of Gilead.
またサウルの時にハガリ人と戰爭してこれを打破りギレアデの東の全部なる彼らの幕屋に住たり
11 The descendants of Gad lived next to the Reubenites in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:
ガドの子孫はこれと相對ひてバシヤンの地にすみて地をサルカにまで及ぼせり
12 Joel was the chief, Shapham the second, then Jaanai and Shaphat, who lived in Bashan.
長はヨエル次はシヤパム、ヤアナイ、シヤパテ共にバシヤンに居り
13 Their kinsmen by families were Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, and Eber—seven in all.
彼らの兄弟等はその宗家によればミカエル、メシユラム、シバ、ヨライ、ヤカン、ジア、ヘベル都合七人
14 These were the sons of Abihail son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz.
是等はホリの子アビハイルの子等なり ホリはヤロアの子ヤロアはギレアデの子ギレアデはミカエルの子ミカエはヱシサイの子ヱシサイはヤドの子ヤドはブズの子
15 Ahi son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was head of their family.
アヒはアブデルの子アブデルはグニの子グニは其宗家の長たり
16 They lived in Gilead, in Bashan and its towns, and throughout the pasturelands of Sharon.
彼らはギレアデとバシヤンと其郷里とシヤロンの諸郊地に住て地を其四方の境に及ぼせり
17 All of them were reckoned in the genealogies during the reigns of Jotham king of Judah and Jeroboam king of Israel.
是等はみなユダの王ヨタムの世とイスラエルの王ヤラベアムの世に系譜に載たるなり
18 The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 warriors—valiant men who carried the shield and sword, drew the bow, and were trained for battle.
ルベンの子孫とガド人とマナセの半支派には出て戰ふべき者四萬四千七百六十人あり皆勇士にして能く楯と矛とを執り善く弓を彎きかつ善戰ふ者なり
19 They waged war against the Hagrites, as well as Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab.
彼等ハガリ人およびヱトル、ネフシ、ノダブ等と戰爭しけるが
20 And because they cried out to God in battle, they were helped against their enemies, and the Hagrites and all their allies were delivered into their hands. Because they put their trust in God, He answered their prayers.
助力をかうむりて攻撃たればハガリ人および之と偕なりし者等みな彼らの手におちいれり是は彼ら陣中にて神を呼びこれを賴みしによりて神これを聽いれたまひしが故なり
21 They seized the livestock of the Hagrites—50,000 camels, 250,000 sheep, and 2,000 donkeys. They also took 100,000 captives,
かくて彼らその家畜を奪ひとりしに駱駝五萬 羊二十五萬 驢馬二千あり人十萬ありき
22 and many others fell slain, because the battle belonged to God. And they occupied the land until the exile.
またころされて倒れたる者衆しその戰爭神に由るがゆゑなり而して彼らはこれが地に代りて住その擄移さるる時におよべり
23 Now the people of the half-tribe of Manasseh were numerous. They settled in the land from Bashan to Baal-hermon (that is, Senir, also known as Mount Hermon).
マナセの半支派の人々はこの地に住み殖蔓りてつひにバシヤンよりバアルヘルモン、セニルおよびヘルモン山まで地をおよぼせり
24 These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were mighty men of valor, famous men, and heads of their families.
その宗家の長は左のごとし即ちエペル、イシ、エリエル、アズリエル、ヱレミヤ、ホダヤ、ヤデエル是みなその宗家の長にして名ある大勇士なりき
25 But they were unfaithful to the God of their fathers, and they prostituted themselves with the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.
彼等その先祖等の神にむかひて罪を犯し曾て彼等の前に神の滅ぼしたまひし國の民等の神を慕ひてこれと姦淫したれば
26 So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria (that is, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria) to take the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh into exile. And he brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan, where they remain to this day.
イスラエルの神アッスリヤの王ブルの心を振興しまたアッスリヤの王テグラテビレセルの心を振興したまへり彼つひにルベン人とガド人とマナセの半支派とを擄へゆきこれをハウラとハボルとハラとゴザンの河の邊とに移せり彼等は今日まで其處にあり
