< 1 Chronicles 21 >

1 Then Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.
Maysa a kabusor ti nangriribuk iti Israel ket sinugsuganna ni David a bilangenna dagiti Israelita.
2 So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops, “Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan and bring me a report, so that I may know their number.”
Kinuna ni David kenni Joab ken kadagiti pangulo iti armada, “Mapanyo bilangen dagiti tattao ti Israel manipud idiay Beerseba agingga iti Dan ket ipadamagyo kaniak, tapno maammoak ti bilangda.”
3 But Joab replied, “May the LORD multiply His troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all servants of my lord? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”
Kinuna ni Joab, “Paaduen koma ni Yahweh ti armadana iti mamingasut a kaadu ngem iti sigud. Ngem apok nga ari, saan kadi a nagserserbida amin iti apok? Apay a tarigagayan ti apok daytoy? Apay nga ipabaklaymo ti basol iti Israel?
4 Nevertheless, the king’s word prevailed against Joab. So Joab departed and traveled throughout Israel, and then he returned to Jerusalem.
Ngem naikeddengen ti sao ti ari nga imbagana kenni Joab. Pimmanaw ngarud ni Joab ket sinursorna ti entero nga Israel. Kalpasanna, nagsubli isuna idiay Jerusalem.
5 And Joab reported to David the total number of the troops. In all Israel there were 1,100,000 men who drew the sword, including 470,000 in Judah.
Ket impadamag ni Joab kenni David ti kabuklan a bilang dagiti makirangranget a lallaki. Adda 1, 100, 000 a lallaki a nakakampilan idiay Israel. iti Juda laeng ket addaan iti 470, 000 a soldado.
6 But Joab did not include Levi and Benjamin in the count, because the king’s command was detestable to him.
Ngem saan a naibilang ti tribu ti Levi ken Benjamin kadakuada, ta kinagura ni Joab ti bilin ti ari.
7 This command was also evil in the sight of God; so He struck Israel.
Nasaktan ti Dios gapu iti daytoy nga inaramid ni David, isu a dinusana ti Israel.
8 Then David said to God, “I have sinned greatly because I have done this thing. Now I beg You to take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.”
Kinuna ni David iti Dios, “Nagbasolak iti nadagsen iti panangaramidko iti daytoy. Ita pakawanem ti nagbasolan toy adipenmo, ta nagtignayak iti minamaag.”
9 And the LORD instructed Gad, David’s seer,
Kuna ni Yahweh kenni Gad a profeta ni David,
10 “Go and tell David that this is what the LORD says: ‘I am offering you three options. Choose one of them, and I will carry it out against you.’”
“Mapanka ket ibagam kenni David: 'Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh: “Ikkanka iti tallo a pagpilian. Mangpilika iti maysa kadagitoy."”'
11 So Gad went and said to David, “This is what the LORD says: ‘You must choose
Napan ngarud ni Gad kenni David ket kinunana kenkuana, “Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh: 'Mangpilika iti maysa kadagitoy:
12 between three years of famine, three months of being swept away before your enemies and overtaken by their swords, or three days of the sword of the LORD—days of plague upon the land, with the angel of the LORD ravaging every part of Israel.’ Now then, decide how I should reply to Him who sent me.”
tallo a tawen ti panagbisin, tallo a bulan a kamkamatendaka dagiti kabusormo ken tiliwendakayo babaen kadagiti kampilanda, wenno saan, tallo nga aldaw a didigraen ni Yahweh ti daga babaen iti panangdadael ti anghel ni Yahweh iti entero a daga ti Israel.' Ita ngarud, ikeddengmo ti sungbat a rumbeng nga ibagak iti nangibaon kaniak.”
13 David answered Gad, “I am deeply distressed. Please, let me fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are very great; but do not let me fall into the hands of men.”
Ket kinuna ni David kenni Gad, “Mariribukanak iti kasta unay.” Bay-annak a mapasag kadagiti ima ni Yahweh ngem kadagiti ima dagiti tattao, ta dakkel unay ti kaasina.”
14 So the LORD sent a plague upon Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel fell dead.
Nangiyeg ngarud ni Yahweh iti didigra iti Israel ket natay ti pitopulo a ribu a tattao.
15 Then God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem, but as the angel was doing so, the LORD saw it and relented from the calamity, and He said to the angel who was destroying the people, “Enough! Withdraw your hand now!” At that time the angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
Nangibaon ti Dios iti maysa nga anghel iti Jerusalem tapno dadaelenna daytoy. Idi dadaelenna koman daytoy, kimmita ni Yahweh ket saanna nga intuloy ti pangngeddengna maipapan iti panangdangran. Kinunana iti anghel a mangdaddadael, “Huston! Saanmon a papatayen dagiti tattao.” Iti dayta a gundaway, agtaktakder ti anghel ni Yahweh iti pagirikan ni Ornan a Jebuseo.
16 When David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem, David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell facedown.
Timmangad ni David ket nakitana ti anghel ni Yahweh nga agtaktakder iti nagbaetan ti langit ken daga, a nakaiggem iti naasut a kampilan a nakalayat iti entero a Jerusalem. Ket nagpakleb iti daga ni David ken dagiti panglakayen a nakakawes iti nakersang a lupot.
17 And David said to God, “Was it not I who gave the order to count the people? I am the one who has sinned and acted wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand fall upon me and my father’s house, but do not let this plague remain upon Your people.”
Kinuna ni David iti Dios, “Saan kadi a siak ti nangibilin a mabilang ti armada? Inaramidko daytoy a nadangkes a banag. Ngem dagitoy a karnero, ania ti inaramidda? Pangngaasim ta palubosam ti imam, O Yahweh a Diosko a dusaennak ken ti pamiliak, ngem saanmo a dusaen dagiti tattaom babaen iti daytoy a didigra.”
18 Then the angel of the LORD ordered Gad to tell David to go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
Isu a binilin ti anghel ni Yahweh ni Gad nga ibagana kenni David, a rumbeng a sumang-at ni David idiay pagirikan ni Ornan a Jebuseo ket mangipatakder iti maysa nga altar para kenni Yahweh.
19 So David went up at the word that Gad had spoken in the name of the LORD.
Simmang-at ngarud ni David a kas imbilin kenkuana ni Gad nga aramidenna iti nagan ni Yahweh.
20 Now Ornan was threshing wheat when he turned and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves.
Kabayatan nga agir-irik ni Ornan iti trigo, timmaliaw isuna ket nakitana ti anghel. Naglemmeng isuna ken dagiti uppat nga annakna.
21 David came to Ornan, and when Ornan looked out and saw David, he left the threshing floor and bowed facedown before David.
Idi dimteng ni David iti ayan ni Ornan, kimmita ni Ornan ket nakitana ni David. Pinanawanna ti pagirikan ket nagpakleb iti daga iti sangoanan ni David.
22 Then David said to Ornan, “Grant me the site of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar to the LORD. Sell it to me for the full price, so that the plague upon the people may be halted.”
Ket kinuna ni David kenni Ornan, “Ilakom kaniak daytoy a pagirikan, tapno makaipatakderak iti maysa nga altar para kenni Yahweh. Bayadak ti kabuklan a gatad daytoy, tapno maikkat ti didigra kadagiti tattao”
23 Ornan said to David, “My lord the king may take whatever seems good. Look, I will give the oxen for the burnt offerings, the threshing sledges for the wood, and the wheat for the grain offering—I will give it all.”
Kinuna ni Ornan kenni David, “Alaem daytoy a kukuam, o apok nga ari. Aramidem iti daytoy ti aniaman a nasayaat iti panagkitam. Adtoy, ikkanka iti bulog a baka para kadagiti daton a maipuor, dagiti pagirik a tabla tapno pagsungrod ken trigo para iti daton a bukbukel; Itedkonto amin kenka dagitoy.”
24 “No,” replied King David, “I insist on paying the full price, for I will not take for the LORD what belongs to you, nor will I offer burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”
Kinuna ni Ari David kenni Ornan, “Saan, bayadak ti kabuklan a gatad daytoy. Saanko nga alaen ti kukuam ket idatonko daytoy a kas daton a mapuoran para kenni Yahweh nga awan man laeng a pulos ti nagastok.
25 So David paid Ornan six hundred shekels of gold for the site.
Isu a nagbayad ni David iti innem a gasut a siklo ti balitok para iti disso.
26 And there he built an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. He called upon the LORD, who answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.
Nangipatakder sadiay ni David iti maysa nga altar para kenni Yahweh ket nangidaton iti rabaw daytoy kadagiti daton a mapuoran ken kadagiti daton a pakikappia. Immawag isuna kenni Yahweh, a simmungbat kenkuana babaen iti apuy manipud iti langit a nangpuor kadagiti daton a mapuoran iti rabaw ti altar.
27 Then the LORD spoke to the angel, who put his sword back into its sheath.
Kalpasanna, binilin ni Yahweh ti anghel, ket insubli ti anghel ti kampilanna iti kalubanna.
28 At that time, when David saw that the LORD had answered him at the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he offered sacrifices there.
Idi nakita ni David a sinungbatan isuna ni Yahweh iti ayan ti pagirikan ni Ornan a Jebuseo, nangidaton pay isuna sadiay iti dadduma a daton iti dayta met laeng a tiempo.
29 For the tabernacle of the LORD that Moses had made in the wilderness and the altar of burnt offering were presently at the high place in Gibeon,
Kadagita a tiempo, ti tabernakulo ni Yahweh nga inaramid ni Moises idiay let-ang ken ti altar para kadagiti daton a naan-anay a mapuoran ket adda iti disso a pagdaydayawan idiay Gabaon.
30 but David could not go before it to inquire of God, because he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the LORD.
Nupay kasta, saan a makapan ni David sadiay tapno kiddawenna ti panangiturong ti Dios, gapu ta kabutengna ti kampilan ti anghel ni Yahweh.
