1 Chronicles 10
1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel, and the men of Israel fled before them, and many fell slain on Mount Gilboa.
१आणि पलिष्टी इस्राएलाविरूद्ध लढले. पलिष्ट्यांपुढून प्रत्येक इस्राएल मनुष्याने पळ काढला आणि गिलबोवात बरेच लोक मरून पडले.
2 The Philistines followed hard after Saul and his sons, and they killed Saul’s sons Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua.
२पलिष्ट्यांनी शौल आणि त्याचे पुत्र यांचा पाठलाग चालूच ठेवला. त्यांना पकडले आणि ठार केले. योनाथान, अबीनादाब आणि मलकीशुवा या त्याच्या पुत्रांना पलिष्ट्यांनी मारले.
3 When the battle intensified against Saul, the archers overtook him and wounded him.
३शौलाविरूद्ध त्यांनी घनघोर युध्द केले आणि तिरंदाजानी त्यास गाठले. तो तिरंदाजामुळे असह्य यातनेत होता.
4 Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run it through me, or these uncircumcised men will come and torture me!” But his armor-bearer was terrified and refused to do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it.
४नंतर शौल आपल्या शस्त्रवाहकाला म्हणाला, “तुझी तलवार काढ आणि तिने मला जोराने आरपार भोसक. नाहीतर हे बेसुंती येऊन माझ्याशी वाइट रीतीने वागतील.” पण त्याचा शस्त्रवाहक तसे करण्यास तयार झाला नाही, तो फार घाबरला होता. म्हणून शौलाने स्वत: ची तलवार काढली आणि तिच्यावर तो पडला.
5 When his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his own sword and died.
५जेव्हा त्याच्या शस्त्रवाहकाने शौल मेला हे पाहिले, तेव्हा त्याचप्रमाणे त्यानेही तलवार उपसून त्यावर पडला व मेला.
6 So Saul died together with his three sons and all his house.
६अशाप्रकारे शौल आणि त्याचे तीन पुत्र व त्याच्या घरातील सर्व सदस्यांना एकत्र मरण आले.
7 When all the Israelites in the valley saw that the army had fled and that Saul and his sons had died, they abandoned their cities and ran away. So the Philistines came and occupied their cities.
७जेव्हा खोऱ्यात राहणाऱ्या प्रत्येक इस्राएल मनुष्याने पाहिले की, शौल व त्याचे पुत्र मरण पावले आहेत आणि त्यांनी पळ काढला. तेव्हा त्यांनीही आपली नगरे सोडून पळ काढला. नंतर पलिष्टी आले आणि त्यामध्ये राहू लागले.
8 The next day, when the Philistines came to strip the dead, they found Saul and his sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.
८मग असे झाले की, दुसऱ्या दिवशी पलिष्टी मृतांच्या अंगावरील मौल्यवान चीजवस्तू लुटायला आले. तेव्हा गिलबोवा डोंगरावर त्यांना शौल आणि त्याचे पुत्र यांचे मृतदेह सापडले.
9 They stripped Saul, cut off his head, took his armor, and sent messengers throughout the land of the Philistines to proclaim the news in the temple of their idols and among their people.
९त्यांनी त्याचे कपडे आणि त्याचे मस्तक व चिलखत काढून घेतले. ही बातमी आपल्या मूर्तींना आणि लोकांस कळवायला त्यांनी पलिष्ट्यांच्या देशभर दूत पाठवले.
10 They put his armor in the temple of their gods and hung his head in the temple of Dagon.
१०त्यांनी त्याचे चिलखत आपल्या देवाच्या मंदिरात आणि शिर दागोनाच्या मंदिरात टांगले.
11 When the people of Jabesh-gilead heard about everything the Philistines had done to Saul,
११पलिष्ट्यांनी शौलाचे जे केले होते ते सर्व जेव्हा याबेश गिलाद नगरातील लोकांनी ऐकले.
12 all their men of valor set out and retrieved the bodies of Saul and his sons and brought them to Jabesh. And they buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh and fasted seven days.
१२तेव्हा त्यांच्यातील सर्व सैनिक शौल आणि त्याची अपत्ये यांचे मृतदेह आणायला निघाली. ते मृतदेह त्यांनी याबेश येथे आणले. याबेश येथे एका मोठ्या एला वृक्षाखाली त्यांनी त्यांच्या अस्थी पुरल्या आणि सात दिवस उपवास केला.
13 So Saul died for his unfaithfulness to the LORD, because he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance,
१३शौल परमेश्वराशी अविश्वासू होता म्हणून त्यास मरण आले. त्याने परमेश्वराने दिलेल्या सूचना यांचे पाळन केले नाही, परंतु भूतविद्या प्रवीण स्रिकडे सल्ला विचारण्यास गेला.
14 and he failed to inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.
१४त्याने परमेश्वराकडून मार्गदर्शन घेतले नाही. म्हणून परमेश्वराने त्यास मारले आणि इशायाचा पुत्र दावीद याच्याकडे राज्य सोपवले.
