< Romans 2 >

1 For which reason, you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are, that judge; for in that in which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge, practice the same things.
Hessa gisho, neno harata bolla pirddeysso, neeni gaasoyiyabay baawa. Neeni harata bolla pirddashe, he neeni pirddiya uraa mela oothiko, nee, ne bolla pirddaasa.
2 But we know that the judgment of God against those who practice such things, is according to truth.
Hessa mela ooso ootheyssata bolla Xoossay xillo pirddaa pirddeyssa nu eroos.
3 But do you, O man, who judge those that practice such things, and yet do the same, conclude that you will escape the judgment of God?
Neno, hessa mela ooso ootheyssata bolla pirddeysso, entti ootheyssa mela ootheysso, neeni Xoossaa pirddaafe attanabaa daanii?
4 Or, do you despise the riches of his goodness, and his forbearance, and his long suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
Woykko Xoossaa keehatethaa, genccaanne dandda7a darotethaa kadhayye? Xoossay new keehiday nena nagaraappe zaaranaw gideyssa erikkiyye?
5 But, according to your hard and impenitent heart, you treasure up to yourself wrath for a day of wrath, and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
Shin hinttew shuchcha wozaninne si7onna haythi de7ees. Hessa gisho, Xoossaa hanqoynne xillo pirdday qoncciya gallas, ne bolla pirdday darana mela oothaasa.
6 who will render to every man according to his works;
Xoossay issuwas issuwas iya oosuwa mela immana.
7 to those who, by patient continuance in good works, seek for glory and honor and incorruptibility, eternal life: (aiōnios g166)
Lo77o ooson minnidi, galataa, bonchchonne dhayonna de7uwa koyeyssatas Xoossay merinaa de7uwa immana. (aiōnios g166)
8 but to those who are contentious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, anger and wrath,
Shin banttana siiqeyssata, tumaa ixxeyssatanne iitabaa oothanaw koyeyssata bolla Xoossaa hanqoynne pirdday yaana.
9 affliction and distress, upon every soul of man that practices what is evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek:
Iitabaa oothiya asay ubbaa, koyrottidi Ayhudeta, kaallidi Ayhude gidonna asaa metoynne waayey gakkana.
10 but glory and honor and peace to every one that practices what is good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:
Shin Xoossay lo77o ooso oothiya ubbaas, koyrottidi Ayhudetas, kaallidi Ayhude gidonnayssatas galataa, bonchchonne sarotethaa immana.
11 for there is no respect of persons with God.
Xoossay som77o be7idi ase shaakkenna.
12 For as many as have sinned without law, shall also perish without law; and as many as have sinned under law, shall be judged by law,
Higgey baynna nagara oothida ubbay higgey baynna dhayana. Higgey de7ishin, nagara oothida ubbay higgen pirddettana.
13 in the day when God shall judge the secret works of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
Xoossaa sinthan xilleyssati higge naageyssatappe attin higge sissa xalaala si7eyssata gidokkona.
14 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Higgey baynna Ayhude gidonna asay medhon higgey kiitteyssa oothoosona. Enttaw xaafettida higgey baynna ixxikokka entti bantta wozanan higgiya eroosona.
15 For when the Gentiles, who have not a law, do, by nature, the things of the law, these who have not a law, are a law to themselves,
Entta hanotay, higge kiitay entta wozanan xaafettidayssa bessees. Qassi entta kahay entta bolla markkattees. Entta qofay issi issi toho enttana bala gees; issi issi toho enttana likke gees.
16 who show that the work which the law requires, is written in their hearts, their conscience bearing testimony, and their reasonings with each other accusing, or making excuse.
Ta tamaarssida Wonggelaa mela Xoossay Yesuus Kiristtoosa baggara asa wozanan geemmida qofaa pirddiya wode hessi erettana.
17 But if you are named Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast in God.
Shin ne nena Ayhude gaasa; higgen zemppaasa; Xoossan ceeqaasa.
18 and know his will, and approve what is excellent, being instructed by the law:
Ne oothana mela Xoossay koyabay aybeekko eraasa. Higgiya tamaarida gisho, tuma gidiyabaa dooranaw eraasa.
19 if you are also confident that you yourself are a guide for the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,
Neeni qooqeta kaaletheyssa, qassi dhuman de7eyssatas poo7o gideyssa shaakka eraasa.
20 an instructor of the simple, a teacher of the unlearned, because you have the form of true knowledge in the law;
Neeni higgiyafe demmida eratethaaninne tumatethan eeyata eriseyssanne yoogata tamaarsseyssa gideyssa eraasa.
21 you, then, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?
Yaatin, ne harata tamaarsseyssi ne nena ays tamaarssikii? Neeni, “Kaysotoppa” gashe, neeni ne huu7en kaysotayye?
22 You who say that a man should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples?
Neeni, “Laammofa” gashe, neeni ne huu7en laammayye? Neeni eeqa ixxashe, eeqay de7iya keethaa bonqayye?
23 You who make your boast in the law, do you, by transgressing the law, dishonor God?
Neeni Xoossaa higgiyan ceeqettasa, shin higgiyas kiitettonna ixxada Xoossaa yeellayay?
24 For the name of God is reviled among the Gentiles, on account of you, as it is written.
Geeshsha Maxaafan, “Hintte gaason Xoossaa sunthay Ayhude gidonna asatan cayettees” geetettidi xaafettis.
25 Now, circumcision is indeed profitable, if you keep the law: but, if you transgress the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision.
Ne higges kiitettiko, ne qaxxaros maadey de7ees, shin neeni higgiyas kiitettonna ixxiko ne qaxxaretethay qaxxarettiboonna mela gidees.
26 If, then, he who is uncircumcised keeps the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
Ayhude gidonna asi qaxxarettonna de7ishe, higgiyas kiitettiko, Xoossay iya qaxxarettida mela taybenne?
27 And shall not he whose want of circumcision is owing to his birth, if he keeps the law, condemn you, who, by the literal circumcision, transgress the law?
Hintte, Ayhude asati, hinttew xaafettida higgeynne qaxxaroy de7ishin, hintte higges kiitettonna ixxiko, Ayhude gidonna asay qaxxarettonna ixxikokka higges kiitettidi, hintte bolla pirddana.
28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh:
Hiza, sunthan Ayhude gidida ubbay tuma Ayhude gidenna. Qassi kare asatethaa qaxxaroy tuma qaxxaro gidenna.
29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Shin tuma Ayhudetethi gaatha baggan Ayhude gideyssa. Tuma qaxxaretethi Xoossaa Ayyaanan oosettiya wozanaa qaxxaretethafe attin xaafettida higgiyan oosettiya asatetha qaxxaro gidenna. He uray galataa Xoossafe ekkeesippe attin asappe gidenna.
