Romans 14

1 Him that is weak in the faith, receive kindly, but not to judge his reasonings.

१जो विश्वासात दुर्बळ आहे त्याचा स्वीकार करा, पण त्याच्या मतभेदाविषयी वाद करण्यास नाही.

2 One believes that he may eat all things; another, who is weak, eats herbs.

२कोणी असा विश्वास ठेवतो की, आपण सर्वकाही खावे, दुसरा कोणी जो दुर्बळ आहे तो भाजीपाला खातो.

3 Let not him that eats, despise him that eats not; and let not him that eats not, judge him that eats: for God has received him.

३जो खातो त्याने न खाणार्‍यास तुच्छ लेखू नये; आणि जो खात नाही त्याने खाणार्‍यास दोष लावू नये; कारण देवाने त्याचा स्वीकार केला आहे.

4 Who are you that judge another man’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls; indeed, he shall stand, for God is able to make him stand.

४दुसर्‍याच्या नोकराला दोष लावणारा तू कोण आहेस? तो आपल्या धन्यापुढे उभा राहील किंवा पडेल. हो, तो स्थिर केला जाईल; कारण धनी त्यास स्थिर करण्यास समर्थ आहे.

5 One man thinks that one day is better than another; another thinks that every day is alike. Let each be fully assured in his own mind.

५आणि कोणी एखादा दिवस दुसर्‍या दिवसाहून अधिक मानतो; दुसरा कोणी सगळे दिवस सारखे मानतो. प्रत्येक मनुष्याने स्वतःच्या मनात पूर्ण खातरी होऊ द्यावी.

6 He that regards the day, to the Lord he regards it; and he that does not regard the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. He that eats, eats to the Lord; for he gives God thanks: and he that eats not, to the Lord he eats not, and gives God thanks.

६जो दिवस मानतो त्याने प्रभूसाठी मानावे आणि जो खातो तोसुध्दा प्रभूसाठी खातो, कारण तो देवाचे उपकार मानतो; त्याचप्रमाणे जो खात नाही तो प्रभूसाठी खात नाही आणि देवाचे उपकार मानतो.

7 For no one lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

७कारण आपल्यातला कोणीही स्वतःकरता जगत नाही व कोणीही स्वतःकरता मरत नाही.

8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; or if we die, we die to the Lord. Whether, therefore, we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

८कारण आपण जगलो तरी प्रभूकरता जगतो आणि आपण मरण पावलो तरी प्रभूकरता मरतो म्हणून आपण जगलो किंवा मरण पावलो तरी प्रभूचे आहोत.

9 For this very purpose, Christ both died and rose, and lived again, that he might have dominion over the dead and the living.

९कारण ख्रिस्त मरण पावला आणि पुन्हा जिवंत झाला तो ह्यासाठी की, त्याने मृतांचा व जिवंतांचाही प्रभू असावे.

10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For we all shall stand before the judgment-seat of the Christ.

१०मग तू आपल्या बंधूला दोष का लावतोस? किंवा तू आपल्या बंधूला तुच्छ का लेखतोस? कारण, आपण सगळे जण देवाच्या न्यायासनासमोर उभे राहणार आहोत.

11 For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess to God.

११कारण पवित्र शास्त्रात असे लिहिले आहे की, ‘प्रभू म्हणतो, मी जिवंत आहे म्हणून, प्रत्येक गुडघा मला नमन करील, आणि प्रत्येक जीभ देवाचे स्तवन करील.’

12 Therefore, every one of us shall give an account of himself to God.

१२तर मग आपल्यातला प्रत्येकजण देवाला आपआपला हिशोब देईल.

13 Let us, therefore, no longer judge one another: but rather decide to put no stumbling-block or snare in your brother’s way.

१३तर आपण ह्यापुढे एकमेकांना दोष लावू नये. पण असे ठरवू की, कोणीही आपल्या बंधूच्या मार्गात अडखळण किंवा पडण्यास कारण होईल असे काही ठेवू नये.

14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself; but if any one thinks that any thing is unclean, to him it is unclean.

१४मी जाणतो व प्रभू येशूमुळे मी मानतो की, कोणतीही गोष्ट मूळची अशुद्ध नाही, पण जो कोणी कोणतीही गोष्ट अशुद्ध मानतो त्यास ती अशुद्ध आहे.

15 But if your brother is grieved on account of your food, you no longer walk according to love. Do not, with your food, destroy him, for whom Christ died.

१५पण जर तुझा बंधू तुझ्या अन्नामुळे दुःखी होतो तर तू आता प्रीतीस अनुसरून चालत नाहीस असे झाले. ज्याच्यासाठी ख्रिस्त मरण पावला त्याचा तुझ्या अन्नामुळे तू नाश करू नकोस.

16 Therefore, let not that which is your good be evil spoken of.

१६म्हणून तुम्ही जे चांगले स्वीकारले आहे त्याची निंदा होऊ देऊ नका.

17 For the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

१७कारण खाणे किंवा पिणे ह्यात देवाचे राज्य नाही; पण नीतिमत्त्व, शांती व पवित्र आत्म्यातील आनंद ह्यात आहे.

18 For he who serves the Christ in these things is acceptable to God, and approved by men.

१८कारण जो ह्याप्रमाणे ख्रिस्ताची सेवा करतो तो देवाला स्वीकार्य व मनुष्यांनी स्वीकृत केलेला होतो.

19 Therefore, let us seek those things which belong to peace, and those which tend to mutual edification.

१९तर आपण ज्या गोष्टी शांतीसाठी व एकमेकांच्या उभारणीसाठी उपयोगी आहेत त्यांच्यामागे लागू या.

20 Destroy not the work of God on account of food. All meats, indeed, are clean; but meat is an evil to that man who, by eating, causes another to stumble.

२०अन्नाकरता देवाचे काम तू नष्ट करू नकोस; सर्व गोष्टी खरोखर खाण्यायोग्य आहेत; पण जो मनुष्य दुसर्‍याला अडखळण करून खातो त्यास ते वाईट आहे.

21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do any thing by which your brother stumbles, or is ensnared, or is made weak.

२१मांस न खाणे किंवा द्राक्षरस न पिणे किंवा तुझ्या बंधूला ज्यामुळे अडखळण होते असे काहीही न करणे चांगले आहे.

22 Have you faith? Have it to yourself before God. Blessed is he who condemns not himself in that which he approves.

२२तुझ्यात विश्वास आहे, तो तू देवासमोर आपल्याजवळ बाळग. जो स्वतः पसंत केलेल्या गोष्टींत स्वतःला दोषी ठरवीत नाही तो धन्य होय.

23 But he that doubts is condemned, if he eat, because he eats not with faith. Every thing that is not of faith, is sin.

२३पण जो मनुष्य संशय धरतो त्याने खाल्ले तर तो दोषी ठरतो; कारण ते विश्वासाने खाल्लेले नाही कारण जे विश्वासाने केलेले नाही ते पाप आहे.
