< Matthew 22 >

1 And Jesus answering, spoke to them again in parables, saying:
Jesu akataurazve kwavari nemifananidzo achiti,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like a king that made a marriage feast for his son;
“Umambo hwokudenga hwakafanana namambo akagadzirira mwanakomana wake mutambo wesvitsa.
3 and sent his servants to call those who had been invited to the marriage feast; and they refused to come.
Akatuma varanda vake kuna avo vainge vakakokwa kumutambo kuti vachiuya, asi vakaramba kuuya.
4 Again, he sent other servants, saying, Tell those who have been invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast.
“Ipapo akatumazve vamwe varanda achiti, ‘Taurirai vose vakakokwa kuti ndagadzirira mabiko: Ndabaya nzombe nemombe dzakakodzwa uye zvose zvagadzirirwa. Uyai kumutambo wesvitsa.’
5 But they were careless, and went away, one to his farm, another to his merchandise.
“Asi hapana akateerera uye vakaenda mumwe kumunda wake, mumwewo kune rimwe basa rake.
6 And the rest laid hold of his servants, and abused them, and killed them.
Vamwe vavo vakabata varanda vake vakavaitira zvakaipa uye vakavauraya.
7 And when that king heard of it, he was angry, and sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Mambo akatsamwa kwazvo. Akatuma hondo yake kundoparadza vaurayi vaya uye akapisa guta ravo.
8 Then he said to his servants: The marriage feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
“Ipapo akati kuvaranda vake, ‘Mutambo wesvitsa wagadzirirwa asi vaya vandakakoka vakanga vasingakodzeri kuti vauye.
9 Go, therefore, to the cross-ways, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find.
Endai kumharadzano dzenzira mundokoka kumutambo ani zvake wamuchawana.’
10 And those servants went out into the roads, and brought together all, as many as they found, both bad and good: and the banquet-room was filled with guests.
Saka varanda vakaenda mumigwagwa vakandokokorodza vose vavakagona kuwana, vose vakanaka nevakaipa, uye imba yesvitsa ikazara navakanga vakokwa.
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man that had not put on a wedding-robe.
“Asi mambo akati apinda kuzoona vakanga vakokwa, akaona munhu imomo akanga asina nguo yesvitsa.
12 And he said to him, Friend, how came you in hither without a wedding-robe? And he was silent.
Akamubvunza akati, ‘Shamwari, wapinda seiko muno usina nguo yesvitsa?’ Munhu uya akashaya chokureva.
13 Then the king said to his servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and throw him into the darkness without: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
“Ipapo mambo akaudza varanda vake akati, ‘Musungei maoko namakumbo mumukande panze, murima, umo muchava nokuchema nokurumanya kwameno.’
14 For many are called, but few chosen.
“Nokuti vazhinji vakakokwa asi vakasarudzwa vashoma.”
15 Then the Pharisees went and held a consultation, that they might entrap him in his words.
Ipapo vaFarisi vakabuda vakandoronga kuti vamubate namashoko ake.
16 And they sent to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying: Teacher, we know that you are true, and that you teach the way of God in truth, and care not for any one: for you do not look upon the person of men.
Vakatuma vadzidzi vavo kwaari pamwe chete navaHerodhi. Vakati, “Mudzidzisi, tinoziva kuti muri munhu akarurama uye kuti munodzidzisa nzira yaMwari zviri maererano nechokwadi. Hamutsauswi navanhu nokuti hamutarisi kuti ndivanaani.
17 Tell us, therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?
Tiudzei zvino kuti imi, munoti kudini? Zvakanaka here kutera mutero kuna Kesari kana kuti hazvina?”
18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said to them: Why do you tempt me, hypocrites?
Asi Jesu, achiziva kuipa kwavo, akati, “Imi vanyengeri munondiedzereiko?
19 Show me the tribute-money. And they brought him a denarius.
Ndiratidzei mari inoshandiswa pakutera mutero.” Vakamuvigira dhenari
20 And he said to them: Whose image and superscription is this?
uye akavabvunza akati, “Ko, mufananidzo uyu ndowaani uye runyoro urwu ndorwaani?”
21 They said to him: Cæsar’s. Then he said to them: Give, therefore, to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.
Vakapindura vakati, “NdezvaKesari.” Ipapo akati kwavari, “Ipai kuna Kesari zvaKesari, uye kuna Mwari zvaMwari.”
22 And when they heard it, they were astonished, and left him, and went away.
Vakati vanzwa izvi, vakashamiswa. Saka vakamusiya vakaenda.
23 On that day there came to him the Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection; and they put a question to him,
Pazuva rimwe chetero vaSadhusi, avo vanoti hakuna kumuka kwavakafa, vakauya kwaari nomubvunzo.
24 saying: Teacher, Moses commanded, If any one die without children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up children for his brother.
Vakati, “Mudzidzisi, Mozisi akatiudza kuti murume akafa asina vana mununʼuna wake anofanira kuwana chirikadzi agomuberekera vana.
25 Now there were with us seven brothers; and the first took a wife, and died; and, having no child, left his wife to his brother.
Zvino pakati pedu paiva navanakomana vomunhu mumwe vanomwe. Wokutanga akawana mukadzi ndokubva iye afa, uye sezvo akanga asina vana, akasiyira mununʼuna wake mukadzi.
26 In like manner also the second, and the third, to the seventh.
Zvimwe chetezvo zvakaitika kuno wechipiri nowechitatu kusvikira kuno wechinomwe.
27 Last of all, the woman also died.
Pakupedzisira mukadzi akazofawo.
28 Therefore, in the resurrection, of which of the seven will she be the wife? for they all had her.
Zvino pakumuka kwavakafa, achava mukadzi waaniko pavanomwe vaya sezvo vose vaiva varume vake?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them: You err, because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God.
Jesu akavapindura akati, “Ndipo pamunorasika ipapo nokuti hamuzivi Magwaro kana simba raMwari.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Pakumuka kwavakafa vanhu havawani kana kuwanikwa, vachange vakaita savatumwa kudenga.
31 But, concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying:
Asi pane zvokumuka kwavakafa, hamuna kuverenga here zvakarehwa naMwari kwamuri, achiti,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
‘Ndini Mwari waAbhurahama naMwari waIsaka naMwari waJakobho’? Haasi Mwari wavakafa asi wavapenyu.”
33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.
Vanhu vazhinji vakati vanzwa izvi, vakashamiswa nokudzidzisa kwake.
34 When the Pharisees heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they came together.
Vanzwa kuti Jesu akanga akunda vaSadhusi, vaFarisi vakaungana pamwe chete.
35 And one of them, who was a lawyer, asked him a question, that he might tempt him, saying:
Mumwe wavo aiva nyanzvi pane zvemirayiro akamuedza nomubvunzo achiti,
36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
“Mudzidzisi, ndoupi murayiro mukuru muMurayiro?”
37 Jesus said to him: You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole mind.
Jesu akapindura akati, “‘Ida Ishe Mwari wako nomwoyo wako wose, nomweya wako wose nokufunga kwako kwose.’
38 This is the first and great commandment.
Uyu ndiwo murayiro mukuru uye wokutanga.
39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Wechipiri wakafanana nawo unoti, ‘Ida muvakidzani wako sokuda kwaunozviita iwe.’
40 On these two commandments hang the whole law and the prophets.
Murayiro wose naVaprofita zvakabatanidzwa pamirayiro iyi miviri.”
41 While the Pharisees were together, Jesus asked them a question,
VaFarisi pavakanga vachakaungana pamwe chete, Jesu akavabvunza akati,
42 saying: What think you of the Christ? whose son is he? They said to him: The son of David.
“Munofungei nezvaKristu? Mwana waani?” Vakapindura vachiti, “Mwanakomana waDhavhidhi.”
43 He said to them: How then does David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
Akati kwavari, “Ko, zvino sei Dhavhidhi achitaura noMweya akamuti, ‘Ishe’? Nokuti anoti,
44 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand till I make thy enemies thy footstool.
“‘Ishe akati kuna Ishe wangu: Gara kuruoko rwangu rworudyi, kusvikira ndaisa vavengi vako pasi petsoka dzako.’
45 If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?
Zvino kana Dhavhidhi achimuti, ‘Ishe’ angagova mwanakomana wake sei?”
46 And no one was able to answer him a word; nor did any one, from that day, dare to ask him another question.
Hapana akagona kutaura shoko rimwe, uye kubva pazuva iroro zvichienda mberi hapana akazoshinga kumubvunza mimwezve mibvunzo.
