Luke 21
1 And he looked up, and saw the rich throwing their gifts into the treasury.
Amikor feltekintett, látta, hogy a gazdagok hogyan dobálják ajándékaikat a perselybe.
2 And he saw also a certain poor widow throw in thither two mites.
Látott egy szegény özvegyasszonyt is, hogy két fillért dobott abba,
3 And he said: Of a truth, I say to you, that this poor widow has thrown in more than they all.
és így szólt: „Bizony mondom néktek, hogy ez a szegény özvegy mindenkinél többet adott.
4 For all these, from their abundance, have thrown in among the gifts of God; but she, from her poverty, has thrown in all the living that she had.
Mert azok mind a fölöslegükből adtak Istennek ajándékot, ez pedig az ő szegénységéből minden vagyonát, amije volt, odaadta.“
5 And as some were saying of the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings, he said:
Amikor némelyek azt mondták a templomról, hogy az szép kövekkel és ajándékokkal van felékesítve, ő így szólt:
6 As for these things which you see, the days will come in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
„Jönnek majd napok, amikor ezekből, amiket láttok, nem marad kő kövön, amelyet le nem rombolnának.“
7 And they asked him, saying: Teacher, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when these things come to pass?
Ekkor ezt kérdezték tőle: „Mester, mikor lesz ez, és mi lesz annak a jele, hogy ez beteljesül?“
8 He replied: Take heed that you be not deceived; for many will come in my name, saying: I am he; and, The time is near. Go not, therefore, after them.
Ő pedig ezt mondta: „Vigyázzatok, hogy meg ne tévesszenek titeket, mert sokan jönnek az én nevemben, akik ezt mondják: Én vagyok! – meg azt: Az idő elközelgett! De ti ne menjetek utánuk.
9 But when you hear of wars, and tumults, be not terrified; for these things must first take place; but the end comes not immediately.
Amikor hallotok háborúkról és lázadásokról, ne rettenjetek meg, mert ezeknek előbb meg kell történniük, de nem jön mindjárt a vég.“
10 Then he said to them: Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;
Aztán így folytatta: „Nemzet nemzet ellen és ország ország ellen támad,
11 and there shall be great earthquakes in various places, and famines, and pestilences; and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
és mindenfelé nagy földindulások, járványok és éhínségek lesznek, rettenetes dolgok történnek, és nagy jelek tűnnek föl az égen.
12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues, and into prisons, after being brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake.
De mindezek előtt kezet emelnek rátok, és üldöznek titeket. Átadnak titeket a zsinagógáknak, és börtönbe vetnek, és királyok és helytartók elé visznek az én nevemért.
13 But this shall become to you the means of bearing testimony.
De ez alkalom lesz nektek a bizonyságtételre.
14 Therefore, determine in your hearts not to meditate beforehand what you shall answer;
Határozzátok el azért szívetekben, hogy nem gondoltok előre, hogy mit feleljetek védelmetekre,
15 for I will give you a mouth, and wisdom, which all your opposers shall not be able to gainsay or withstand.
mert én adok nektek szájat és bölcsességet, amelynek nem tud ellenállni vagy ellene mondani egyetlen ellenfeletek sem.
16 But you will be delivered up by parents and brothers and relatives and friends; and some of you they will put to death;
Elárulnak titeket szülők és testvérek, rokonok és barátok is, és némelyeket megölnek közületek,
17 and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake.
és gyűlöletesek lesztek mindenki előtt az én nevemért,
18 Yet a hair of your head shall not perish.
de fejetek hajszála sem vész el.
19 By your patient endurance, preserve your lives.
Béketűrésetek által nyeritek meg lelketeket.
20 But when you shall see Jerusalem besieged by armies, then know that its desolation is near.
Amikor látjátok, hogy Jeruzsálemet hadsereg keríti be, akkor tudjátok meg, hogy elközelített pusztulása.
21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let those who are in the midst of it, withdraw from it. Let those who are in the count try, not come within it.
Akkor, akik Júdeában lesznek, fussanak a hegyekre, és akik a városban vannak, költözzenek ki onnan, és akik a mezőn vannak, ne menjenek be oda.
22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things that are written may be fulfilled.
Ezek ugyanis az ítéletnek napjai, hogy beteljesedjenek mindazok, amelyek meg vannak írva.
23 But alas for them that are with child, and for them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath upon this people.
Jaj azokban a napokban a terhes és szoptatós asszonyoknak, mert nagy nyomorúság lesz a földön, és harag e népre.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive among all nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Elhullnak a kard élétől, és foglyul vitetnek minden pogány nép közé, és Jeruzsálemet pogányok tapossák, míg be nem teljesedik a pogányok ideje.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars; and on the earth, distress of nations in perplexity; the sea and its waves roaring;
„És lesznek jelek a napban, holdban és csillagokban, a földön népek rettegnek tanácstalanul a tenger zúgása és forrongása miatt,
26 men’s hearts failing on account of the fearful expectation of the things that are coming on the land; for the hosts of the heavens shall be shaken.
és az emberek megdermednek a félelem és annak várása miatt, amik e föld kerekségére következnek, mert az egek erői megrendülnek.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Akkor meglátják az Emberfiát eljönni a felhőben hatalommal és nagy dicsőséggel.
28 When these things begin to take place, look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near.
Amikor pedig ezek elkezdődnek, nézzetek fel, és emeljétek fel a fejeteket, mert közeledik megváltásotok.“
29 And he spoke a parable to them: See the fig-tree, and all the trees;
Mondott nekik egy példázatot is: „Tekintsétek meg a fügefát és minden fát.
30 when they now put forth leaves, you see, and know of yourselves that summer is near.
Amikor már hajtanak, és ezt látjátok, ti magatok is tudjátok, hogy közel van már a nyár.
31 So likewise, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
Így ti is, amikor látjátok, hogy mindezek bekövetkeznek, tudjátok meg: közel van Isten országa.
32 Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass away till all be fulfilled.
Bizony mondom néktek: nem múlik el ez a nemzedék, míg mindez meg nem lesz.
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Az ég és a föld elmúlnak, de az én beszédeim nem múlnak el.
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts become heavy with reveling and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day come upon you when you look not for it.
Vigyázzatok magatokra, hogy szívetek el ne nehezedjék mámortól, részegségtől vagy a megélhetés gondjaitól, és váratlanul ne lepjen meg titeket az a nap.
35 For as a snare, it shall come on all that dwell on the face of all the land.
Mert mint valami csapda, úgy lep meg mindenkit, akik e föld színén laknak.
36 Watch, therefore, and pray at all times, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Vigyázzatok azért mindenkor, és kérjétek, hogy kimenekülhessetek mindabból, amik bekövetkeznek, és megállhassatok az Emberfia előtt.“
37 And in the day-time he was teaching in the temple. But he went out and passed the nights in the mount called the mount of Olives.
Napközben a templomban tanított, éjszakánként pedig kiment az Olajfák hegyére.
38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, in order to hear him.
És kora reggel az egész nép hozzáment, hogy őt hallgassa a templomban.
