John 7
1 And after this Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
౧ఆ తరువాత యేసు గలిలయకు వెళ్ళి అక్కడే సంచరిస్తూ ఉన్నాడు. ఎందుకంటే యూదయలో యూదులు ఆయనను చంపాలని వెతుకుతూ ఉండటంతో అక్కడ సంచరించడానికి ఆయన ఇష్టపడలేదు.
2 Now the feast of tabernacles, a feast of the Jews, was near.
౨ఇంతలో యూదుల పర్ణశాలల పండగ సమీపించింది.
3 Then his brothers said to him: Depart hence, and go into Judea, that your disciples may see your works which you do;
౩అప్పుడు ఆయన తమ్ముళ్ళు ఆయనతో, “నువ్వు చేసే కార్యాలు నీ శిష్యులు చూడాలి కదా. అందుకే ఈ స్థలం వదిలి యూదయకు వెళ్ళు.
4 for no one does any thing in secret, while he himself seeks to be before the public. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.
౪అందరూ మెచ్చుకోవాలని చూసేవాడు తన పనులు రహస్యంగా చేయడు. నువ్వు నిజంగా ఈ కార్యాలు చేస్తున్నట్టయితే లోకమంతటికీ తెలిసేలా చెయ్యి. నిన్ను నువ్వే చూపించుకో” అన్నారు.
5 For neither did his brothers believe on him.
౫ఆయన తమ్ముళ్ళు కూడా ఆయనలో విశ్వాసం ఉంచలేదు.
6 Then Jesus said to them: My time has not yet come; but your time is always ready.
౬అప్పుడు యేసు, “నా సమయం ఇంకా రాలేదు. మీ సమయం ఎప్పుడూ సిద్ధంగానే ఉంటుంది.
7 The world can not hate you; but me it hates, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.
౭లోకం మిమ్మల్ని ద్వేషించదు. కానీ దాని పనులన్నీ చెడ్డవని నేను సాక్ష్యం చెబుతున్నాను కాబట్టి అది నన్ను ద్వేషిస్తూ ఉంది.
8 Do you go up to this feast. I go not up now to this feast, because my time has not yet fully come.
౮మీరు పండక్కి వెళ్ళండి. నా సమయం ఇంకా సంపూర్ణం కాలేదు. కాబట్టి నేను ఈ పండక్కి ఇప్పుడే వెళ్ళను” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
9 These things said he to them, and remained in Galilee.
౯వారికి ఇలా చెప్పి ఆయన గలిలయలో ఉండిపోయాడు.
10 But when his brothers had gone up, then he also went up to the feast, not openly, but, as it were, in secret.
౧౦కానీ తన తమ్ముళ్ళు పండక్కి వెళ్ళిన తరువాత ఆయన బహిరంగంగా కాకుండా రహస్యంగా వెళ్ళాడు.
11 Then the Jews sought for him at the feast, and said: Where is he?
౧౧ఆ ఉత్సవంలో యూదులు ‘ఆయన ఎక్కడ ఉన్నాడు’ అంటూ ఆయన కోసం వెతుకుతూ ఉన్నారు.
12 And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him. Some said: He is a good man. Others said: No; but he deceives the multitude.
౧౨ప్రజల మధ్య ఆయనను గురించి పెద్ద వాదం ప్రారంభమైంది. కొందరేమో, “ఆయన మంచివాడు” అన్నారు. మరికొందరు, “కాదు. ఆయన మోసగాడు” అన్నారు.
13 However, no one spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.
౧౩అయితే యూదులకు భయపడి ఆయనను గురించి ఎవరూ బయటకు మాట్లాడలేదు.
14 Now in the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
౧౪పండగ ఉత్సవాల్లో సగం రోజులు గడిచాక యేసు దేవాలయానికి వెళ్ళి అక్కడ ఉపదేశించడం ప్రారంభించాడు.
15 And the Jews were astonished, and said: How has this man a knowledge of letters, having never been taught?
౧౫ఆయన ఉపదేశానికి యూదులు ఆశ్చర్యపడి, “చదువూ సంధ్యా లేని వాడికి ఇంత పాండిత్యం ఎలా కలిగింది” అని చెప్పుకున్నారు.
16 Then Jesus answered and said: My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
౧౬దానికి యేసు, “నేను చేసే ఉపదేశం నాది కాదు. ఇది నన్ను పంపిన వాడిదే.
17 If any one will do his will, he shall know with respect to the teaching, whether it is of God, or I speak of myself.
౧౭దేవుని ఇష్టప్రకారం చేయాలని నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నవాడు నేను చేసే ఉపదేశం దేవుని వలన కలిగిందో లేక నా స్వంత ఉపదేశమో తెలుసుకుంటాడు.
18 He who speaks of himself, seeks his own glory; he who seeks the glory of him that sent him, he is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
౧౮తనంతట తానే బోధించేవాడు సొంత గౌరవం కోసం పాకులాడతాడు. తనను పంపిన వాని గౌరవం కోసం తాపత్రయ పడేవాడు సత్యవంతుడు. ఆయనలో ఎలాంటి దుర్నీతీ ఉండదు.
19 Did not Moses give you the law? and not one of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?
౧౯మోషే మీకు ధర్మశాస్త్రం ఇచ్చాడు కదా! కానీ మీలో ఎవరూ ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని అనుసరించి జీవించరు. మీరు నన్ను చంపాలని ఎందుకు చూస్తున్నారు?” అన్నాడు.
20 The multitude answered and said: You have a demon: who seeks to kill you?
౨౦అందుకు ఆ ప్రజలు, “నీకు దయ్యం పట్టింది. నిన్ను చంపాలని ఎవరు కోరుకుంటారు?” అన్నారు.
21 Jesus answered and said to them: I have done one work, and you are all astonished on account of this.
౨౧యేసు వారితో, “నేనొక కార్యం చేశాను. దానికి మీరంతా ఆశ్చర్యపడుతున్నారు.
22 Moses gave you circumcision, (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers, ) and you circumcise a man on the sabbath-day.
౨౨మోషే మీకు సున్నతి అనే ఆచారాన్ని నియమించాడు. ఈ ఆచారం మోషే వల్ల కలిగింది కాదు. ఇది పూర్వీకుల వల్ల కలిగింది. అయినా విశ్రాంతి దినాన మీరు సున్నతి కార్యక్రమం చేస్తున్నారు.
23 If a man receives circumcision on the sabbath-day, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I have restored the entire man to health on the sabbath-day?
౨౩విశ్రాంతి దినాన సున్నతి పొందినా మోషే ధర్మ శాస్త్రాన్ని అతిక్రమించినట్టు కాదు గదా! అలాంటప్పుడు నేను విశ్రాంతి దినాన ఒక వ్యక్తిని బాగు చేస్తే నా మీద ఎందుకు కోపం చూపుతున్నారు?
24 Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
౨౪బయటకు కనిపించే దాన్ని బట్టి కాక న్యాయసమ్మతంగా నిర్ణయం చేయండి” అన్నాడు.
25 Then said some of the men of Jerusalem: Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
౨౫యెరూషలేము వారిలో కొందరు, “వారు చంపాలని వెదకుతున్నవాడు ఈయన కాదా?
26 and, lo, he is speaking boldly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers really learned that this is the Christ?
౨౬చూడండి, ఈయన బహిరంగంగా మాట్లాడుతున్నా ఈయనను ఏమీ అనరు. ఈయనే క్రీస్తని అధికారులకి తెలిసి పోయిందా ఏమిటి?
27 But we know this man, whence he is. But when the Christ comes, no one knows whence he is.
౨౭అయినా ఈయన ఎక్కడి వాడో మనకు తెలుసు. క్రీస్తు వచ్చినప్పుడైతే ఆయన ఎక్కడి వాడో ఎవరికీ తెలియదు” అని చెప్పుకున్నారు.
28 Then Jesus cried out in the temple, as he was teaching, and said: You both know me, and you know whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you know not.
౨౮కాబట్టి యేసు దేవాలయంలో ఉపదేశిస్తూ, “మీకు నేను తెలుసు. నేను ఎక్కడ నుండి వచ్చానో కూడా మీకు తెలుసు. నేను నా స్వంతంగా ఏమీ రాలేదు. నన్ను పంపినవాడు సత్యవంతుడు. ఆయన మీకు తెలియదు.
29 But I know him, because I am from him, and he has sent me.
౨౯నేను ఆయన దగ్గర నుండి వచ్చాను. ఆయనే నన్ను పంపాడు కాబట్టి నాకు ఆయన తెలుసు” అని గొంతెత్తి చెప్పాడు.
30 Then they sought to take him; yet no one laid his hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
౩౦దానికి వారు ఆయనను పట్టుకోడానికి ప్రయత్నం చేశారు. కానీ ఆయన సమయం ఇంకా రాలేదు. కాబట్టి ఎవరూ ఆయనను పట్టుకోలేకపోయారు.
31 And many of the multitude believed on him, and said: When the Christ comes, will he do more signs than these which this man has done?
౩౧ప్రజల్లో అనేక మంది ఆయనలో విశ్వాసముంచారు. “క్రీస్తు వచ్చినప్పుడు ఇంతకంటే గొప్ప కార్యాలు చేస్తాడా ఏమిటి” అని వారు చెప్పుకున్నారు.
32 The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and chief priests sent attendants to take him.
౩౨ప్రజలు ఆయనను గురించి ఇలా మాట్లాడుకోవడం పరిసయ్యుల దృష్టికి వెళ్ళింది. అప్పుడు ప్రధాన యాజకులూ, పరిసయ్యులూ ఆయనను పట్టుకోడానికి సైనికులను పంపించారు.
33 Then Jesus said to them: Yet a little while I am with you, and I go away to him that sent me.
౩౩యేసు మాట్లాడుతూ, “నేను ఇంకా కొంత కాలం మాత్రమే మీతో ఉంటాను. ఆ తరువాత నన్ను పంపినవాడి దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళిపోతాను.
34 You will seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, you can not come.
౩౪అప్పుడు మీరు నన్ను వెతుకుతారు. కానీ నేను మీకు కనిపించను. నేను ఉండే చోటికి మీరు రాలేరు” అన్నాడు.
35 Then the Jews said among themselves: Whither is this man about to go, that we shall not find him? Is he about to go to those who are dispersed among the Greeks, and to teach the Greeks?
౩౫దానికి యూదులు, “మనకు కనిపించకుండా ఈయన ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తాడు? గ్రీసు దేశం వెళ్ళి అక్కడ చెదరి ఉన్న యూదులకు, గ్రీకు వారికి ఉపదేశం చేస్తాడా?
36 What means this saying which he uttered, You will seek me, and will not find me; and, Where I am you can not come?
౩౬‘నన్ను వెతుకుతారు. కానీ నేను మీకు కనిపించను. నేను ఉండే చోటికి మీరు రాలేరు’ అన్న మాటలకి అర్థం ఏమిటో” అంటూ తమలో తాము చెప్పుకుంటూ ఉన్నారు.
37 On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying: If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink.
౩౭ఆ పండగలో మహాదినమైన చివరి దినాన యేసు నిలబడి, “ఎవరికైనా దాహం వేస్తే నా దగ్గరికి వచ్చి దాహం తీర్చుకోవాలి.
38 He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, from his inner self shall flow rivers of living water.
౩౮లేఖనాలు చెబుతున్నాయి, నాపై విశ్వాసముంచే వాడి కడుపులో నుండి జీవజల నదులు ప్రవహిస్తాయి” అని బిగ్గరగా చెప్పాడు.
39 But this he spoke of the Spirit, which those who believe on him were about to receive; for the Holy Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
౩౯తనపై నమ్మకం ఉంచేవారు పొందబోయే దేవుని ఆత్మను గురించి ఆయన ఈ మాట చెప్పాడు. యేసు అప్పటికి తన మహిమా స్థితి పొందలేదు కనుక దేవుని ఆత్మ దిగి రావడం జరగలేదు.
40 Therefore, many of the multitude, when they had heard this word, said: This is, in truth, the prophet.
౪౦ప్రజల్లో కొందరు ఆ మాట విని, “ఈయన నిజంగా ప్రవక్తే” అన్నారు.
41 Others said: This is the Christ. But others said: Does the Christ come out of Galilee?
౪౧మరికొందరు, “ఈయన క్రీస్తే” అన్నారు. దానికి జవాబుగా ఇంకా కొందరు, “ఏమిటీ, క్రీస్తు గలిలయ నుండి వస్తాడా?
42 Has not the scripture said that the Christ comes from the posterity of David, and from Bethlehem, the town where David was?
౪౨క్రీస్తు దావీదు వంశంలో పుడతాడనీ, దావీదు ఊరు బేత్లెహేము అనే గ్రామంలో నుండి వస్తాడనీ లేఖనాల్లో రాసి లేదా?” అన్నారు.
43 So there was a division among the multitude because of him.
౪౩ఈ విధంగా ప్రజల్లో ఆయనను గురించి భేదాభిప్రాయం కలిగింది.
44 And some of them desired to take him; but no one laid hands on him.
౪౪వారిలో కొందరు ఆయనను పట్టుకోవాలని అనుకున్నారు కానీ ఎవరూ ఆయనను పట్టుకోలేదు.
45 Then came the attendants to the chief priests and the Pharisees; and they said to them: Why have you not brought him?
౪౫పరిసయ్యులు పంపిన సైనికులు తిరిగి వచ్చారు. ప్రధాన యాజకులూ, పరిసయ్యులూ, “మీరు ఆయనను ఎందుకు తీసుకురాలేదు?” అని అడిగారు.
46 The attendants answered: Never did man speak like this man.
౪౬దానికి ఆ సైనికులు, “ఆ వ్యక్తి మాట్లాడినట్టు ఇంతకు ముందు ఎవరూ మాట్లాడలేదు” అని జవాబిచ్చారు.
47 Then the Pharisees answered them: Are you also deceived?
౪౭దానికి పరిసయ్యులు, “మీరు కూడా మోసపోయారా?
48 Has any one of the rulers, or of the Pharisees believed on him?
౪౮అధికారుల్లో గానీ పరిసయ్యుల్లో గానీ ఎవరైనా ఆయనను నమ్మారా?
49 But this multitude that know not the law are cursed.
౪౯ధర్మశాస్త్రం తెలియని ఈ ప్రజల పైన శాపం ఉంది” అని సైనికులతో అన్నారు.
50 Nicodemus said to them (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them):
౫౦అంతకు ముందు యేసు దగ్గరికి వచ్చిన నికోదేము అనే పరిసయ్యుడు,
51 Does our law condemn a man unless it first hear from him, and know what he does?
౫౧“ఒక వ్యక్తి చెప్పే మాట వినకుండా అతడేం చేశాడో తెలుసుకోకుండా మన ధర్మశాస్త్రం అతడికి తీర్పు తీరుస్తుందా?” అన్నాడు.
52 They answered and said to him: Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee arises no prophet.
౫౨దానికి వారు, “నువ్వు కూడా గలిలయుడవేనా? ఆలోచించు, గలిలయలో ఎలాంటి ప్రవక్తా పుట్టడు” అన్నారు.
53 And every one departed to his own house.
౫౩ఇక ఎవరి ఇంటికి వారు వెళ్ళారు.
