< James 1 >

1 James, a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes that are in the dispersion, greeting.
Bawi Jesuh Khritaw ja Pamhnama mpya Jakuk üngkhyüh ni, Khawmdek avan üng ngpyeng hükie Pamhnama khyang avan ning jah hnukset veng.
2 My brethren, count it all joy, when you fall into manifold trials,
Ka püie, nami cehnak üng akhak mjüküm a lawpha üng na kam dawki tia namimät ngaiei u,
3 knowing that the trial of your faith produces patience.
akhake cun nami jumeinak naw a näng üng nami yah vai ta cuneinak khawh ni tia nami ksingki.
4 But let patience have its work perfected, that you may be perfect and faultless, wanting in nothing.
Nami cuneinak naw käh nami ngtawngpäkia aning jah cehpüi üng nami hlükaw käh ve lü kümcei lü nami bebang khai ni tia ngsingsak ua.
5 Now, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.
Pumngyam am na tak üng nang üng ning pe khawhkia Pamhnama vei na ktaiyü vai, isetiakyaküng, Pamhnam naw käh kpamei lü bäbangnak am avan üng jah peki ni.
6 But let him ask in faith, doubting not: for he that doubts, is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind, and tossed.
Lüpi na ktaiyü üng käh uplat lü jumnak am ktaiyüa. Uplatkia khyang cun khawkhi naw hmut lü ngnawk hüki mpanglai üng tängki ni.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.
8 A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother that is in a lowly condition, glory in his exaltation:
Mpyenksekiea Khritjane cän Pamhnam naw a jah jähsawn üng je u lü,
10 but he that is rich, in his humiliation; because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun rises with its burning heat, and withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beauty of its form perishes. So, also, shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Khawnghngi lut law se ngling lü a dung cun ui law lü, a pai pi kyü khai, a ngtonak pi pyak khai ni. Bawimang he pi kunpan khaia ami ceh üng acukba kunga pyakmsai khaie ni.
12 Blessed is the man that endures trial: for, being approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him.
Khuikha sawng üng sitih lü vekie cän je u se, isetiakyaküng, amimi naw camnak cun ami khe khawh üng Pamhnam kphyanakie üng khyütam a jah peta xünnaka ngkhyengnak yah khaie ni.
13 Let no one say, when he is tempted, My temptation is from God; for God can not be tempted by evils, and he himself tempts no man.
Acuna khuikhanake naw a jah hlawhlep üngta, “Ahin cun Pamhnam üngkhyüh lawkia hlawhlepnak ni” käh mi ti vai u. Pamhnam cun akse naw am hlawhlep thei, amät naw u pi akse am hlawhlep.
14 But every one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desire, and is deluded.
Lüpi mimäta hlükaweie akse naw jah man lü a jah kaiha kcün üng ni hlawhlepnak mi khamei.
15 So, then, desire, when it has conceived, brings forth sin; and sin, when it is matured, brings forth death.
Mi hlükawei akse naw mpyai lü mkhyenak a canak ni, mkhyenak cun däm law lü thihnak a canak law ni.
16 Be not deceived, my beloved brethren;
17 every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor slightest trace of turning.
Akdaw naküt teyet ja kümkia bänak hin khankhaw üngkhyüh lawki. Am ngthunghlai, am jah nghlata lü anghmüp pi am vesak, acun käna khankhaw akvaie pi jah Mhnünmcengki Pamhnam üngkhyüh lawki ni.
18 Of his own will, he begot us with the word of truth, in order that we might be, as it were, the first-fruits of his creatures.
Amäta ngjak'hlüa ngthungtak üngkhyüh a jah xün lawsaka kyase, a mhnünmceng nakütea ksunga akcüka hnün mi yahkie ni.
19 So, then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
Ka püie, hin hin süm ua! Avan cän ngjaknak üng jang lü pyensaknak ja mlungsonak üng cü yah khai ni.
20 For the wrath of man produces not the righteousness of God.
Nghngicima mlungsonak naw ngsungpyunkia Pamhnama nümnak cun am yah thei.
21 Wherefore, laying aside all filthiness, and every excess caused by malice, receive with meekness the ingrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Acuna kyase, akse vecawh ja mtüihkse naküt cun jah lola ua. Pamhnama vei ngcuapei lü ning jah küikyan khawhkia ngthu nami mlunga a tak cän dokhamei ua.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Ngjaknak sawxat üng namät käh mhlei lü acun cän ngneisak na a.
23 For if any one is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man that looks at his natural face in a mirror:
Ngthu cän ngja sawxatki lü am na ngneisaknak üngta hman üng amimät bükki khyange am ni na täng kawm.
24 for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what sort of person he is.
Amimät hman am bük u lü ami ceh hü üngta ia mäi lawki he ti cun am süm be ti u.
25 But he that looks intently into the perfect law of liberty, and remains constant, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, he shall be blessed in his deed.
Khyang jah mhlät lü kümceikia thum cän k’et lü bük ua, acun cän bük kyet ua, käh mhnih lü käh ngai sawxat u lüpi nami ngneisaknak üngta nami bilawhnaka khana Pamhnam naw dawkyanak ning jah pe khai ni.
26 If any one among you seems to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Religion, pure and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Mi Pa Pamhnam naw ngcim lü kcangkia a ngaiha ningsaw ta: ngakyahe ja hmeinue khuikha lü ami ve üng jah mcei lü amimät pi khawmdek naw käh a jah kcimkpyehsak vaia mcei vai cän ni.
