Hebrews 3
1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and high priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,
Pelo que, irmãos sanctos, participantes da vocação celestial, considerae a Jesus Christo, apostolo e summo sacerdote da nossa confissão,
2 who is faithful to him that appointed him, as Moses also was faithful in all his house.
Sendo fiel ao que o constituiu, como tambem Moysés, em toda a sua casa.
3 For this man is counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has builded the house, has more honor than the house.
Porque elle é tido por digno de tanto maior gloria do que Moysés, quanto mais honra do que a casa tem aquelle que a edificou.
4 For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things is God.
Porque toda a casa é edificada por alguem, porém o que edificou todas as coisas é Deus.
5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, to bear testimony to those things which were to be spoken afterward;
E, na verdade, Moysés foi fiel em toda a sua casa, como servo, para testemunho das coisas que se haviam de dizer;
6 but Christ, as a Son over his own house; whose house we are, if we hold the confidence and the joy of our hope firm to the end.
Mas Christo, como Filho sobre a sua propria casa, a qual casa somos nós, se tão sómente retivermos firme a confiança e a gloria da esperança até ao fim.
7 Wherefore, as the Holy Spirit says: To-day, if you will hear his voice,
Portanto, como diz o Espirito Sancto, se ouvirdes hoje a sua voz,
8 harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation, in the day of trial in the wilderness,
Não endureçaes os vossos corações, como na provocação, no dia da tentação no deserto
9 where your fathers tried me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Onde vossos paes me tentaram, me provaram, e viram por quarenta annos as minhas obras.
10 Where fore, I was angry with that generation, and said, They do always err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
Por isso me indignei contra esta geração, e disse: Estes sempre erram em seu coração, e não conheceram os meus caminhos:
11 so that I swore in my anger, They shall not enter into my rest.
Assim jurei na minha ira que não entrarão no meu repouso.
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in apostatizing from the living God.
Olhae, irmãos, que nunca haja em nenhum de vós um coração mau e infiel, para se apartar do Deus vivo.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To-day, lest any of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Antes exhortae-vos uns aos outros cada dia, durante o tempo que se nomeia Hoje, para que nenhum de vós se endureça pelo engano do peccado;
14 For we are partakers of the Christ, if we hold our begun confidence firm to the end;
Porque estamos feitos participantes de Christo, se retivermos firmemente o principio da nossa confiança até ao fim.
15 while it is said, To-day, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation.
Entretanto se diz: Hoje, se ouvirdes a sua voz, não endureçaes os vossos corações, como na provocação.
16 For some, when they had heard, did bitterly provoke; yet, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
Porque, havendo-a alguns ouvido, o provocaram; porém não todos os que sairam por Moysés do Egypto.
17 But with whom was he angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?
Mas com quem se indignou por quarenta annos? Não foi porventura com os que peccaram, cujos corpos cairam no deserto?
18 But to whom did he swear that they should not enter into his rest, but to those who believed not?
E a quem jurou que não entrariam no seu repouso, senão aos que foram desobedientes?
19 And so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
E vemos que não poderam entrar por causa da sua incredulidade.
