Acts 5
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
තදා අනානියනාමක ඒකෝ ජනෝ යස්‍ය භාර‍්‍ය්‍යායා නාම සඵීරා ස ස්වාධිකාරං වික්‍රීය
2 and kept back part of the price, and his wife was conscious of it; and he brought a certain part of it, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
ස්වභාර‍්‍ය්‍යාං ඥාපයිත්වා තන්මූල්‍යස්‍යෛකාංශං සඞ්ගෝප්‍ය ස්ථාපයිත්වා තදන්‍යාංශමාත්‍රමානීය ප්‍රේරිතානාං චරණේෂු සමර්පිතවාන්|
3 But Peter said: Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart, that you should attempt to deceive the Holy Spirit, and keep back part of the price of the land?
තස්මාත් පිතරෝකථයත් හේ අනානිය භූමේ ර්මූල්‍යං කිඤ්චිත් සඞ්ගෝප්‍ය ස්ථාපයිතුං පවිත්‍රස්‍යාත්මනඃ සන්නිධෞ මෘෂාවාක්‍යං කථයිතුඤ්ච ශෛතාන් කුතස්තවාන්තඃකරණේ ප්‍රවෘත්තිමජනයත්?
4 While it remained unsold, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your own disposal? Why have you purposed this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.
සා භූමි ර‍්‍යදා තව හස්තගතා තදා කිං තව ස්වීයා නාසීත්? තර්හි ස්වාන්තඃකරණේ කුත ඒතාදෘශී කුකල්පනා ත්වයා කෘතා? ත්වං කේවලමනුෂ්‍යස්‍ය නිකටේ මෘෂාවාක්‍යං නාවාදීඃ කින්ත්වීශ්වරස්‍ය නිකටේ(අ)පි|
5 And when Ananias heard these words, he fell down, and expired. And great fear came on all that heard these things.
ඒතාං කථාං ශ්‍රුත්වෛව සෝ(අ)නානියෝ භූමෞ පතන් ප්‍රාණාන් අත්‍යජත්, තද්වෘත්තාන්තං යාවන්තෝ ලෝකා අශෘණ්වන් තේෂාං සර්ව්වේෂාං මහාභයම් අජායත්|
6 And the young men arose and wound him in his mantle, and carried him out, and buried him.
තදා යුවලෝකාස්තං වස්ත්‍රේණාච්ඡාද්‍ය බහි ර්නීත්වා ශ්මශානේ(අ)ස්ථාපයන්|
7 And after an interval of about three hours, his wife, not knowing what had been done, came in.
තතඃ ප්‍රහරෛකානන්තරං කිං වෘත්තං තන්නාවගත්‍ය තස්‍ය භාර‍්‍ය්‍යාපි තත්‍ර සමුපස්ථිතා|
8 And Peter answered her: Tell me, did you sell the land for so much? She replied: Yes; for so much.
තතඃ පිතරස්තාම් අපෘච්ඡත්, යුවාභ්‍යාම් ඒතාවන්මුද්‍රාභ්‍යෝ භූමි ර්වික්‍රීතා න වා? ඒතත්වං වද; තදා සා ප්‍රත්‍යවාදීත් සත්‍යම් ඒතාවද්භ්‍යෝ මුද්‍රාභ්‍ය ඒව|
9 But Peter said to her: Why is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they shall carry you out.
තතඃ පිතරෝකථයත් යුවාං කථං පරමේශ්වරස්‍යාත්මානං පරීක්‍ෂිතුම් ඒකමන්ත්‍රණාවභවතාං? පශ්‍ය යේ තව පතිං ශ්මශානේ ස්ථාපිතවන්තස්තේ ද්වාරස්‍ය සමීපේ සමුපතිෂ්ඨන්ති ත්වාමපි බහිර්නේෂ්‍යන්ති|
10 And she immediately fell down at his feet, and expired. And the young men came in and found her dead; and they carried her out, and buried her by the side of her husband.
තතඃ සාපි තස්‍ය චරණසන්නිධෞ පතිත්වා ප්‍රාණාන් අත්‍යාක්‍ෂීත්| පශ්චාත් තේ යුවානෝ(අ)භ්‍යන්තරම් ආගත්‍ය තාමපි මෘතාං දෘෂ්ට්වා බහි ර්නීත්වා තස්‍යාඃ පත්‍යුඃ පාර්ශ්වේ ශ්මශානේ ස්ථාපිතවන්තඃ|
11 And great fear came on all the church, and on all that heard these things.
තස්මාත් මණ්ඩල්‍යාඃ සර්ව්වේ ලෝකා අන්‍යලෝකාශ්ච තාං වාර්ත්තාං ශ්‍රුත්වා සාධ්වසං ගතාඃ|
12 And many signs and wonders were done among the people by the hands of the apostles; (and they were all with one consent in Solomon’s porch.
තතඃ පරං ප්‍රේරිතානාං හස්තෛ ර්ලෝකානාං මධ්‍යේ බහ්වාශ්චර‍්‍ය්‍යාණ්‍යද්භුතානි කර්ම්මාණ්‍යක්‍රියන්ත; තදා ශිෂ්‍යාඃ සර්ව්ව ඒකචිත්තීභූය සුලේමානෝ (අ)ලින්දේ සම්භූයාසන්|
13 And no one of the rest durst join himself to them; but the people magnified them.
තේෂාං සඞ්ඝාන්තර්ගෝ භවිතුං කෝපි ප්‍රගල්භතාං නාගමත් කින්තු ලෝකාස්තාන් සමාද්‍රියන්ත|
14 And believers in the Lord were more and more added to them, multitudes both of men and women; )
ස්ත්‍රියඃ පුරුෂාශ්ච බහවෝ ලෝකා විශ්වාස්‍ය ප්‍රභුං ශරණමාපන්නාඃ|
15 so that they brought the sick out along the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that even the shadow of Peter, as he passed along, might fall on some of them.
පිතරස්‍ය ගමනාගමනාභ්‍යාං කේනාපි ප්‍රකාරේණ තස්‍ය ඡායා කස්මිංශ්චිජ්ජනේ ලගිෂ්‍යතීත්‍යාශයා ලෝකා රෝගිණඃ ශිවිකයා ඛට්වයා චානීය පථි පථි ස්ථාපිතවන්තඃ|
16 And many people of the cities round about came to Jerusalem, bringing the sick, and those who were troubled by evil spirits, all of whom were cured.
චතුර්දික්ස්ථනගරේභ්‍යෝ බහවෝ ලෝකාඃ සම්භූය රෝගිණෝ(අ)පවිත්‍රභුතග්‍රස්තාංශ්ච යිරූශාලමම් ආනයන් තතඃ සර්ව්වේ ස්වස්ථා අක්‍රියන්ත|
17 But the chief priest arose, and all that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees, ) and were filled with indignation;
අනන්තරං මහායාජකඃ සිදූකිනාං මතග්‍රාහිණස්තේෂාං සහචරාශ්ච
18 and they laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the public prison.
මහාක්‍රෝධාන්ත්විතාඃ සන්තඃ ප්‍රේරිතාන් ධෘත්වා නීචලෝකානාං කාරායාං බද්ධ්වා ස්ථාපිතවන්තඃ|
19 But an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison by night, and brought them out, and said:
කින්තු රාත්‍රෞ පරමේශ්වරස්‍ය දූතඃ කාරායා ද්වාරං මෝචයිත්වා තාන් බහිරානීයාකථයත්,
20 Go, stand in the temple, and speak to the people all the words of this life.
යූයං ගත්වා මන්දිරේ දණ්ඩායමානාඃ සන්තෝ ලෝකාන් ප්‍රතීමාං ජීවනදායිකාං සර්ව්වාං කථාං ප්‍රචාරයත|
21 And having heard this, they entered the temple, early in the morning, and taught. But the chief priest, and those who were with him, came and called together the Sanhedrim, and all the eldership of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
ඉති ශ්‍රුත්වා තේ ප්‍රත්‍යූෂේ මන්දිර උපස්ථාය උපදිෂ්ටවන්තඃ| තදා සහචරගණේන සහිතෝ මහායාජක ආගත්‍ය මන්ත්‍රිගණම් ඉස්‍රායේල්වංශස්‍ය සර්ව්වාන් රාජසභාසදඃ සභාස්ථාන් කෘත්වා කාරායාස්තාන් ආපයිතුං පදාතිගණං ප්‍රේරිතවාන්|
22 But when the attendants came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and reported,
තතස්තේ ගත්වා කාරායාං තාන් අප්‍රාප්‍ය ප්‍රත්‍යාගත්‍ය ඉති වාර්ත්තාම් අවාදිෂුඃ,
23 saying: We found the prison closed with all safety, and the guards standing before the doors; but when we had opened, we found no one within.
වයං තත්‍ර ගත්වා නිර්ව්විඝ්නං කාරායා ද්වාරං රුද්ධං රක්‍ෂකාංශ්ච ද්වාරස්‍ය බහිර්දණ්ඩායමානාන් අදර්ශාම ඒව කින්තු ද්වාරං මෝචයිත්වා තන්මධ්‍යේ කමපි ද්‍රෂ්ටුං න ප්‍රාප්තාඃ|
24 When the priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were in doubt about them, what this could mean.
ඒතාං කථාං ශ්‍රුත්වා මහායාජකෝ මන්දිරස්‍ය සේනාපතිඃ ප්‍රධානයාජකාශ්ච, ඉත පරං කිමපරං භවිෂ්‍යතීති චින්තයිත්වා සන්දිග්ධචිත්තා අභවන්|
25 And some one came and reported to them: Behold, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
ඒතස්මින්නේව සමයේ කශ්චිත් ජන ආගත්‍ය වාර්ත්තාමේතාම් අවදත් පශ්‍යත යූයං යාන් මානවාන් කාරායාම් අස්ථාපයත තේ මන්දිරේ තිෂ්ඨන්තෝ ලෝකාන් උපදිශන්ති|
26 Then went the captain with the attendants, and brought them without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
තදා මන්දිරස්‍ය සේනාපතිඃ පදාතයශ්ච තත්‍ර ගත්වා චේල්ලෝකාඃ පාෂාණාන් නික්‍ෂිප්‍යාස්මාන් මාරයන්තීති භියා විනත්‍යාචාරං තාන් ආනයන්|
27 And when they had brought them, they made them stand before the Sanhedrim; and the chief priest asked them,
තේ මහාසභායා මධ්‍යේ තාන් අස්ථාපයන් තතඃ පරං මහායාජකස්තාන් අපෘච්ඡත්,
28 saying: Did we not strictly charge you not to teach in this name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
අනේන නාම්නා සමුපදේෂ්ටුං වයං කිං දෘඪං න න්‍යෂේධාම? තථාපි පශ්‍යත යූයං ස්වේෂාං තේනෝපදේශේනේ යිරූශාලමං පරිපූර්ණං කෘත්වා තස්‍ය ජනස්‍ය රක්තපාතජනිතාපරාධම් අස්මාන් ප්‍රත්‍යානේතුං චේෂ්ටධ්වේ|
29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said: We must obey God rather than men.
තතඃ පිතරෝන්‍යප්‍රේරිතාශ්ච ප්‍රත්‍යවදන් මානුෂස්‍යාඥාග්‍රහණාද් ඊශ්වරස්‍යාඥාග්‍රහණම් අස්මාකමුචිතම්|
30 The God of our fathers has raised up Jesus, whom you slew by hanging him on a tree.
යං යීශුං යූයං ක්‍රුශේ වේධිත්වාහත තම් අස්මාකං පෛතෘක ඊශ්වර උත්ථාප්‍ය
31 Him has God exalted to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, in order to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins:
ඉස්‍රායේල්වංශානාං මනඃපරිවර්ත්තනං පාපක්‍ෂමාඤ්ච කර්ත්තුං රාජානං පරිත්‍රාතාරඤ්ච කෘත්වා ස්වදක්‍ෂිණපාර්ශ්වේ තස්‍යාන්නතිම් අකරෝත්|
32 and we are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit also, whom God has given to them that obey him.
ඒතස්මින් වයමපි සාක්‍ෂිණ ආස්මහේ, තත් කේවලං නහි, ඊශ්වර ආඥාග්‍රාහිභ්‍යෝ යං පවිත්‍රම් ආත්මනං දත්තවාන් සෝපි සාක්‍ෂ්‍යස්ති|
33 And when they heard this, they were enraged; and they determined to put them to death.
ඒතද්වාක්‍යේ ශ්‍රුතේ තේෂාං හෘදයානි විද්ධාන්‍යභවන් තතස්තේ තාන් හන්තුං මන්ත්‍රිතවන්තඃ|
34 Then arose a certain man in the Sanhedrim, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people; and he commanded them to put the apostles out for a little while,
ඒතස්මින්නේව සමයේ තත්සභාස්ථානාං සර්ව්වලෝකානාං මධ්‍යේ සුඛ්‍යාතෝ ගමිලීයේල්නාමක ඒකෝ ජනෝ ව්‍යවස්ථාපකඃ ඵිරූශිලෝක උත්ථාය ප්‍රේරිතාන් ක්‍ෂණාර්ථං ස්ථානාන්තරං ගන්තුම් ආදිශ්‍ය කථිතවාන්,
35 and said to them: Men of Israel, consider well with yourselves what you are about to do to these men.
හේ ඉස්‍රායේල්වංශීයාඃ සර්ව්වේ යූයම් ඒතාන් මානුෂාන් ප්‍රති යත් කර්ත්තුම් උද්‍යතාස්තස්මින් සාවධානා භවත|
36 For before these days Theudas arose, declaring himself to be some great one; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves; and he was slain; and all, as many as believed him, were scattered and brought to naught.
ඉතඃ පූර්ව්වං ථූදානාමෛකෝ ජන උපස්ථාය ස්වං කමපි මහාපුරුෂම් අවදත්, තතඃ ප්‍රායේණ චතුඃශතලෝකාස්තස්‍ය මතග්‍රාහිණෝභවන් පශ්චාත් ස හතෝභවත් තස්‍යාඥාග්‍රාහිණෝ යාවන්තෝ ලෝකාස්තේ සර්ව්වේ විර්කීර්ණාඃ සන්තෝ (අ)කෘතකාර‍්‍ය්‍යා අභවන්|
37 After this man, Judas the Galilean arose, in the days of the enrollment, and drew over many people after him; and he was destroyed, and all, as many as believed him, were scattered.
තස්මාජ්ජනාත් පරං නාමලේඛනසමයේ ගාලීලීයයිහූදානාමෛකෝ ජන උපස්ථාය බහූල්ලෝකාන් ස්වමතං ග්‍රාහීතවාන් තතඃ සෝපි ව්‍යනශ්‍යත් තස්‍යාඥාග්‍රාහිණෝ යාවන්තෝ ලෝකා ආසන් තේ සර්ව්වේ විකීර්ණා අභවන්|
38 And now I say to you, keep away from these men, and let them alone; for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to an end;
අධුනා වදාමි, යූයම් ඒතාන් මනුෂ්‍යාන් ප්‍රති කිමපි න කෘත්වා ක්‍ෂාන්තා භවත, යත ඒෂ සඞ්කල්ප ඒතත් කර්ම්ම ච යදි මනුෂ්‍යාදභවත් තර්හි විඵලං භවිෂ්‍යති|
39 but if it is of God, you can not bring it to an end: and take heed, lest you be found fighting also against God.
යදීශ්වරාදභවත් තර්හි යූයං තස්‍යාන්‍යථා කර්ත්තුං න ශක්‍ෂ්‍යථ, වරම් ඊශ්වරරෝධකා භවිෂ්‍යථ|
40 And they were persuaded by him; and when they had called the apostles in and scourged them, they commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
තදා තස්‍ය මන්ත්‍රණාං ස්වීකෘත්‍ය තේ ප්‍රේරිතාන් ආහූය ප්‍රහෘත්‍ය යීශෝ ර්නාම්නා කාමපි කථාං කථයිතුං නිෂිධ්‍ය ව්‍යසර්ජන්|
41 Then, they went from the presence of the Sanhedrim, rejoicing that they were thought worthy to suffer shame for his name’s sake.
කින්තු තස්‍ය නාමාර්ථං වයං ලජ්ජාභෝගස්‍ය යෝග්‍යත්වේන ගණිතා ඉත්‍යත්‍ර තේ සානන්දාඃ සන්තඃ සභාස්ථානාං සාක්‍ෂාද් අගච්ඡන්|
42 And daily in the temple, and from house to house, they ceased not to teach and to preach Jesus the Christ.
තතඃ පරං ප්‍රතිදිනං මන්දිරේ ගෘහේ ගෘහේ චාවිශ්‍රාමම් උපදිශ්‍ය යීශුඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍ය සුසංවාදං ප්‍රචාරිතවන්තඃ|
