< 1 John 3 >
1 Behold, how great love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God! For this reason, the world knows us not, because it knew him not.
Cathut e canaw telah kaw e lah o awh nahanelah, Cathut ni maimouh banghloimaw lungpataw awh, tie hah pouk a haw! Talai taminaw ni Cathut hah a panue awh hoeh dawkvah, maimouh hai na panuek awh hoeh.
2 Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Ka lungpataw e naw: atuvah maimouh teh Cathut e ca lah o awh. Ato hmalah teh bangtelamaw o awh han tie hah kamnuek hoeh rah. Hatei Bawipa Jisuh ama a kamnue toteh, ama hoi kâvan awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, Bawipa ama a coung e patetlah hmu awh han.
3 And every one that has this hope in Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.
Hottelah, ka ngaihawi e tami teh Bawipa a thoung e patetlah amahoima a kamthoung.
4 Every one that works sin, works also transgression of law: and sin is transgression of law.
Yonnae ka sak e tami teh kâlawk a ek. Sak payonnae teh kâlawk eknae doeh.
5 And you know that he was manifested, that he might take away our sins; and in him there is no sin.
Bawipa ni maimae yonnae pueng ceikhai hanelah a tho toe tie hah na panue awh. Bawipa dawk yonnae awm hoeh.
6 Whoever abides in him, sins not. Whoever sins, has neither seen him nor known him.
Bawipa dawk kahring e tami teh, yonnae pou sak hoeh. Yonnae pou ka sak e tami teh, Bawipa hah hmawt hoeh rah.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you: he that works righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Ka canaw: apihai kâdum sak awh hanh. Apihai lannae nuen ka tarawi e teh Bawipa a lan e patetlah a lan.
8 He that works sin is of the devil, for the devil sins from the beginning: for this purpose was the son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Kahraimathout teh ahmaloe hoi yonnae ka sak e lah ao dawkvah, apipatet hai yonnae ka sak e teh kahraimathout hoi a kâkuet. Cathut Capa a tho ngainae teh kahraimathout thaw tawk raphoe pouh hane doeh.
9 Whoever has been begotten of God does not work sin; because his seed remains in him: and he can not sin, because he has been begotten of God.
Cathut ni a khe e tami teh, yonnae pou sak hoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahni dawk Cathut e cati a o. Ahni teh, Cathut ni a khe e lah ao dawkvah, yonnae pou sak thai hoeh.
10 By this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. Whoever does not work righteousness is not of God; neither is he that loves not his brother.
Hot patetlah e noutnae lahoi yah, Cathut e a canaw hoi kahraimathout e a canaw teh a kamnue awh. Lannae ka tarawi hoeh e, mae hmaunawngha lungpataw hoeh e teh, Cathut hoi kâkuen hoeh.
11 For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Nangmouh ni hmaloe hoi na thai a tangcoung e kamthang kahawi hateh, buet touh hoi buet touh lungkâpataw awh han tie hah doeh.
12 Not as Cain, who was of the wicked one, and slew his brother: and for what reason did he slay him? because his own works were evil, and his brother’s, righteous.
Kahrai hoi kâkuen niteh a nawngha ka thet e Kain patetlah awm hanh awh. Kain ni bangkongmaw a nawngha a thei tetpawiteh, amae tawksak e teh lan hoeh, a nawngha e tawksak e teh a lan dawk doeh.
13 Wonder not, my brethren, if the world hates you.
14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren: he that loves not his brother, abides in death.
Maimouh teh hmaunawngha reira lungkâpataw awh dawkvah, duenae koehoi hringnae koe lah, raka awh toe tie kâpanue awh. Ma e hmaunawngha lungpataw hoeh e tami teh, duenae dawk doeh a hring rah.
15 Whoever hates his brother, is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
16 By this we know the love of Christ, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Khrih ni maimouh hane kecu dawk, a hringnae a pasoung e khet navah, a lungpatawnae hah panue awh. Maimouh ni hai hmaunawngha reira hanelah, hringnae pasoung hanlah ao.
17 Whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother have need, and shuts his heart against him, how dwells the love of God in him?
Apipatethai talaivan hnopai a tawn nahlangva vah, a hmaunawngha a roedeng e hah a hmu ei, paawt pawiteh, ahni dawk Cathut lungpatawnae bangtelamaw khuet ao han vaw.
18 My little children, let us not love in word, nor in tongue, but in deed, and in truth.
Canaw: maimouh teh lawk hrawng hoi dueng laipalah, tawksaknae hoi lawkkatang lahoi lungpataw awh sei.
19 And by this we know that we are of the truth; and we shall have our hearts at rest before him:
Hottelah lungpataw awh pawiteh, lawkkatang hoi kâkuet awh toe tie hah na panuek awh vaiteh, mamae lung ni yon na kapen nakunghai, Cathut hmalah lungtangnae ao sak han.
20 for if our heart condemn us, we know that God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Cathut teh maimae lung hlak a len dawkvah, hnocawngca pueng a panue.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God,
22 and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 And this is his commandment: That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he that keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.
