< 1 Corinthians 9 >
1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?
Kai loe patoeh ih kami ah ka om ai maw? Kai loe kaloih kami na ai maw? Aicae Angraeng Jesu Kri to ka hnu ai maw? Nangcae loe Angraeng ah tok ka sakhaih kami ah na om o ai maw?
2 If I am not an apostle to others, yet certainly I am to you; for the seal of my apostleship are you in the Lord.
Kai loe kalah kaminawk khaeah patoeh ih kami maeto ah ka om ai cadoeh, nangcae khaeah loe patoeh ih kami ah ni ka oh, tito palunghaeng han om ai; Angraeng ah, patoeh ih kami ah ka ohhaih catui daengkung loe nangcae ni.
3 My answer to those who examine me is this:
Kai lokdueng kaminawk han pathim ih lok loe hae ni,
4 Have we not the right to eat and drink?
aicae loe caak naek thaihaih akaa a tawn o ai maw?
5 Have we not the right to lead about a sister wife, as the other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?
Angraeng ih nawkamyanawk baktih, Kipha baktih, kalah patoeh ih kaminawk baktih toengah, kaicae mah doeh tanghaih tawn nongpata maeto, zu ah lak moe, nawnto kholong ka caeh o haih thai mak ai maw?
6 Or, have I only, and Barnabas, no right to leave off working?
To tih ai boeh loe Kai hoi Barnaba loe toksah ai ah ka om hoi thai mak ai maw?
7 What man ever serves as a soldier, at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and eats not of its fruit? Or who tends a flock, and eats not of the milk of the flock?
Angmah hoi angmah angcom hoiah misatuh kami oh vai maw? Takha sah misurthaih caa ai kami oh vai maw? To tih ai boeh loe tuu pacah tuu tahnutui nae ai kami oh vai maw?
8 Do I speak these things as a man? Or does not the law, also, say the same?
Hae loknawk hae kami mah thuih rumram ih lok baktiah maw ka thuih? To tih ai boeh loe kaalok mah doeh to tiah thuih toeng na ai maw?
9 For it is written in the law of Moses: You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain? Has God a care for oxen?
Mosi ih kaalok thungah loe, Cang atii maitaw tae ih tahmawh to moem pae hmah, tiah tarik ih oh. To lok loe Sithaw mah maitaw tae han khue maw thuih?
10 or does he say it wholly for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, it was written: that he that plows should plow in hope, and that he that thrashes should thrash in hope of partaking.
To tih ai boeh loe aicae han doeh a thuih maw? Palunghaeng han om ai, aicae hanah doeh a thuih: laikok atok kami mah loe oephaih hoiah atok han oh; oephaih hoiah cang atii kami loe a tawnh ih oephaih baktih toengah hak han oh, tiah tarik ih oh.
11 If we have sown, for your benefit, things that are spiritual, is it a great thing that we reap your carnal things?
Nangcae khaeah Muithla bang ih hmuennawk ka haeh o naah, nangcae ih long hmuennawk to ka aah o nahaeloe, kalen parai hmuen ah maw om tih?
12 If others partake of this right over you, should not we rather? But we have not used this right: but we endure all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of the Christ.
Kalah kaminawk mah nangcae khae hoiah to baktih hmuen hakthaihaih akaa tawn o nahaeloe, kaicae taoe cae loe kawkruk maw hak aep han oh? Toe kaicae loe to baktih hmuen hakthaihaih akaa to ka patoh o ai; kahoih Kri tamthanglok pakaa ving han ai ah, hmuen boihah pauephaih hoiah ni ka oh o.
13 Do you not know that those who are engaged about sacred rites have their living from the temple? and that those who attend upon the altar are partakers with the altar?
Ciimcai ahmuen ah toksah kaminawk loe, tempul ah sin ih hmuennawk to caa o tih, hmaicam ah toksah kaminawk doeh hmaicam ah sin ih hmuennawk to caa o tih, tito na panoek o ai maw?
14 So, also, the Lord has ordained that those who preach the gospel should live by the gospel.
To baktih toengah kahoih tamthanglok taphong kami loe, kahoih tamthanglok taphonghaih hoiah hing tih, Angraeng mah paek ih lok to oh.
15 But I have availed myself of none of these things; nor do I write these things that it should be so done to me. For it would be better for me to die, than that any one should make my boasting vain.
Toe kai loe to baktih sakthaihaih akaa to ka patoh ai: ka nuiah to baktih hmuen sak hanah hae loknawk hae tarik ih na ai ni: kaminawk mah kam oekhaih azom ah ohsak pongah loe, ka duek to kai hanah hoih kue.
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have no cause for boasting; for a necessity is laid upon me; yes, alas for me, if I preach not the gospel.
Kahoih tamthanglok ka thuih cadoeh, kai han amoekhaih tidoeh om ai: aloehaih ka nuiah amtik boeh pongah, ue, tamthanglok hoih ka thui ai nahaeloe, kai han khosak bing!
17 For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if unwillingly, an apostolic stewardship has been intrusted to me.
Hae tok hae koehhaih palungthin hoiah ka sak nahaeloe, kai han tangqum to oh: toe koehhaih palungthin hoiah ka thui ai cadoeh, a tok sakhaih loe kai khaeah ang paek boeh.
18 What, then, is my reward? That, while I preach, I may make the gospel of Christ to be without charge, in order that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.
To tiah nahaeloe kai ih tangqum loe kawbangmaw oh? Kahoih tamthanglok ka thuih naah, azom ah ka thuih thai hanah, tamthanglok hoih ka thuih naah sakthaihaih akaa to ka patoh ai.
19 For, though I am free from all men, yet have I made myself a servant to all, that I may gain the more.
Kai loe mi kawbaktih ih misong ah doeh ka om ai, toe paroeai kaminawk to ka pazawk thai hanah, kami boih ih tamna ah ka oh.
20 And to the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews: to those who are under law, as under law, (not being myself under law, ) that I might gain those who are under law;
Judahnawk ka pazawk thai hanah, Judahnawk khaeah loe Judah kami maeto baktiah ka oh, kaalok thungah kaom kaminawk khaeah loe, kaalok thungah kaom kaminawk to ka pazawk thai hanah, kaalok thungah kaom kami baktiah ka oh.
21 to those who are without law, as without law, (not being myself without law to God, but under law to Christ, ) that I might gain those who are without law:
Kaalok tawn ai kaminawk to ka pazawk thai hanah, kaalok tawn ai kaminawk khaeah loe, kaalok tawn ai baktiah ka oh, (Sithaw ih kaalok pahnet ving boeh tih haih ih na ai ni, Kri ih kaalok thungah ni ka oh)
22 to the weak I became like one who was weak, that I might gain the weak: I have become all things to all men, that I may, by all means, save some.
Thahnaem kaminawk ka pazawk thai hanah, thahnaem kaminawk khaeah loe, thahnaem kami baktiah ka oh: kawbangah doeh thoemto kaminawk ka pahlong thai hanah, kaminawk boih khaeah angmacae khosakhaih dan baktih toengah ka oh pae.
23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may share its benefits with you.
Kahoih tamthanglok ah nangcae hoi nawnto athum kami ah ka oh thai toeng hanah, to tiah tok ka sak.
24 Know you not that all the runners in the race-course run the race, but that one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain the prize.
Cawnh angnoek kaminawk loe nawnto a cawn o boih, toe kami maeto mah ni tangqum to hnuk, tito na panoek o ai maw? To pongah nangcae loe tangqum hnuk thai hanah cawn oh.
25 Every combatant in the public games is temperate in all things: they, indeed, that they may obtain a corruptible, but we, that we may obtain an incorruptible crown.
26 I, therefore, so run, not as with uncertainty; I so aim my blows, not as one that beats the air;
To pongah kai loe ka cawnh naah, patoephaih tawn ai kami baktiah ka cawn ai; ka thong naah doeh, takhi thong rumram kami baktiah ka thong ai.
27 but I put my body under severe discipline, and bring it into subjection, lest, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
Toe ka takpum thuitaekhaih to ka tawnh moe, kaimah ukhaih thungah ka suek: to tih ai nahaeloe minawk khaeah lok ka thuih naah, kaimah hae tangqum ka sung lat moeng tih.
