1 Corinthians 2
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellence of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.
Κἀγὼ Κἀγὼ ἐλθὼν πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, ἦλθον οὐ καθ᾽ ὑπεροχὴν λόγου ἢ σοφίας καταγγέλλων ὑμῖν τὸ (μυστήριον *N(k)O*) τοῦ θεοῦ.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you but Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
οὐ γὰρ ἔκρινά (τοῦ *k*) τι εἰδέναι ἐν ὑμῖν εἰ μὴ Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν καὶ τοῦτον ἐσταυρωμένον.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling:
κἀγὼ κἀγὼ ἐν ἀσθενείᾳ καὶ ἐν φόβῳ καὶ ἐν τρόμῳ πολλῷ ἐγενόμην πρὸς ὑμᾶς·
4 and my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
καὶ ὁ λόγος μου καὶ τὸ κήρυγμά μου οὐκ ἐν πειθοῖς (ἀνθρωπίνης *K*) σοφίας λόγοις ἀλλ᾽ ἐν ἀποδείξει πνεύματος καὶ δυνάμεως,
5 that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
ἵνα ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν μὴ ᾖ ἐν σοφίᾳ ἀνθρώπων ἀλλ᾽ ἐν δυνάμει θεοῦ.
6 Yet we speak wisdom among the perfect; but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are brought to nought: (aiōn g165)
Σοφίαν δὲ λαλοῦμεν ἐν τοῖς τελείοις, σοφίαν δὲ οὐ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου οὐδὲ τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου τῶν καταργουμένων· (aiōn g165)
7 but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, even that which had been hidden, which God predestined before the ages, for our glory, (aiōn g165)
ἀλλὰ λαλοῦμεν θεοῦ σοφίαν ἐν μυστηρίῳ τὴν ἀποκεκρυμμένην, ἣν προώρισεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸ τῶν αἰώνων εἰς δόξαν ἡμῶν, (aiōn g165)
8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for, had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. (aiōn g165)
ἣν οὐδεὶς τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου ἔγνωκεν· εἰ γὰρ ἔγνωσαν, οὐκ ἂν τὸν κύριον τῆς δόξης ἐσταύρωσαν, (aiōn g165)
9 But, as it is written: Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and into the heart of man have not entered the things which God has prepared for them that love him.
ἀλλὰ καθὼς γέγραπται· ἃ ὀφθαλμὸς οὐκ εἶδεν καὶ οὖς οὐκ ἤκουσεν καὶ ἐπὶ καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἀνέβη, (ἃ *NK(O)*) ἡτοίμασεν ὁ θεὸς τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν.
10 But God has revealed them to us through his Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
ἡμῖν (δὲ *NK(o)*) ἀπεκάλυψεν ὁ θεὸς διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος (αὐτοῦ· *k*) τὸ γὰρ πνεῦμα πάντα ἐραυνᾷ, καὶ τὰ βάθη τοῦ θεοῦ.
11 For what man knows the things of man, but the spirit of man which is in him? Even so, the things of God no one knows, but the Spirit of God.
τίς γὰρ οἶδεν ἀνθρώπων τὰ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου εἰ μὴ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τὸ ἐν αὐτῷ; οὕτως καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ οὐδεὶς (ἔγνωκεν *N(k)O*) εἰ μὴ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ θεοῦ.
12 And we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God:
ἡμεῖς δὲ οὐ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ κόσμου ἐλάβομεν ἀλλὰ τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ, ἵνα εἰδῶμεν τὰ ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ χαρισθέντα ἡμῖν·
13 which things also we speak, not in words taught by man’s wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
ἃ καὶ λαλοῦμεν οὐκ ἐν διδακτοῖς ἀνθρωπίνης σοφίας λόγοις ἀλλ᾽ ἐν διδακτοῖς πνεύματος (ἁγίου, *K*) πνευματικοῖς πνευματικὰ συγκρίνοντες.
14 But an animal man receives not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he can not know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
ψυχικὸς δὲ ἄνθρωπος οὐ δέχεται τὰ τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ θεοῦ, μωρία γὰρ αὐτῷ ἐστιν, καὶ οὐ δύναται γνῶναι, ὅτι πνευματικῶς ἀνακρίνεται.
15 But the spiritual man discerns all things; yet he himself is discerned by no one.
ὁ δὲ πνευματικὸς ἀνακρίνει (τὰ *N(k)O*) πάντα, αὐτὸς δὲ ὑπ᾽ οὐδενὸς ἀνακρίνεται.
16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
τίς γὰρ ἔγνω νοῦν κυρίου, ὃς συμβιβάσει αὐτόν; ἡμεῖς δὲ νοῦν Χριστοῦ ἔχομεν.
