Psalms 84
1 For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Jehovah of hosts!
Dem Sangmeister, auf der Gittit. Ein Psalm der Söhne Korahs.
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; My heart and my flesh cry out unto the living God.
Wie lieblich ist deine Wohnung, / Jahwe, der Heerscharen Herr!
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found her a house, And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, Even thine altars, O Jehovah of hosts, My King, and my God.
Meine Seele hat sich schon immer gesehnt, ja geschmachtet / Nach den Vorhöfen Jahwes. / Mein Herz und mein Leib / Jubeln entgegen dem lebendigen Gott.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: They will be still praising thee. (Selah)
Auch der Sperling findet ein Haus / Und die Schwalbe ein Nest, wo sie ihre Jungen birgt: / Deine Altäre, Jahwe, der Heerscharen Herr, / Mein König und mein Gott.
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; In whose heart are the highways [to Zion].
Heil den Bewohnern deines Hauses: / Sie loben dich immerdar! (Sela)
6 Passing through the valley of Weeping they make it a place of springs; Yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings.
Heil denen, die in dir ihre Stärke finden, / Während sie Pläne im Herzen bewegen!
7 They go from strength to strength; Every one of them appeareth before God in Zion.
Wandern sie durch ein dürres Tal: / Sie machen es zum Quell; / Auch hüllt es Frühregen in Segen.
8 O Jehovah God of hosts, hear my prayer; Give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
Sie schreiten von Kraft zu Kraft: / So zeigt sich El Elohim, / Der da wohnet in Zion.
9 Behold, O God our shield, And look upon the face of thine anointed.
Jahwe Elohim Zebaôt, / Erhöre doch mein Gebet, / Merke darauf, Gott Jakobs! (Sela)
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Du, unser Schild, sieh drein, Elohim, / Schau gnädig an das Antlitz deines Gesalbten!
11 For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Denn ein Tag in deinen Vorhöfen ist besser als tausend andre. / Lieber will ich in meines Gottes Haus an der Schwelle stehn / Als in den Zelten des Frevlers wohnen.
12 O Jehovah of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Denn Zinne und Schild ist Jahwe Elohim. / Gunst und Ehre wird Jahwe geben; / Nicht läßt er Gutes mangeln / Denen, die schuldlos wandeln. Jahwe, der Heerscharen Herr, / Heil dem Menschen, der dir vertraut!
