Psalms 71
1 In thee, O Jehovah, do I take refuge: Let me never be put to shame.
Bei dir, o Jahwe, hab ich Zuflucht gesucht, / Laß mich nimmer zuschanden werden!
2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me: Bow down thine ear unto me, and save me.
In deiner Treue rette mich und mache mich frei, / Neige dein Ohr zu mir und schaffe mir Heil!
3 Be thou to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: Thou hast given commandment to save me; For thou art my rock and my fortress.
Sei mir ein schützender Fels, zu dem ich beständig fliehen kann! / Du hast ja beschlossen, mir Heil zu erweisen; / Denn mein Fels, meine Burg bist du.
4 Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
Mein Gott, errette mich aus des Frevlers Hand, / Aus der Faust des Schurken und Drängers!
5 For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah: [Thou art] my trust from my youth.
Du bist ja meine Hoffnung, Adonái Jahwe, / Auf den ich vertraue von Kindheit an.
6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb; Thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: My praise shall be continually of thee.
Du bist meine Stütze seit meiner Geburt, / Aus dem Mutterschoß hast du mich gelöst. / Dir gilt mein Loblied beständig.
7 I am as a wonder unto many; But thou art my strong refuge.
Ein Wunder bin ich für viele, / Meine starke Zuflucht aber bist du.
8 My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, And with thy honor all the day.
Mein Mund soll sich füllen mit deinem Lob, / Dich soll er immerdar rühmen.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; Forsake me not when my strength faileth.
Verwirf mich nicht, wenn das Alter kommt; / Schwindet die Kraft mir, verlaß mich nicht!
10 For mine enemies speak concerning me; And they that watch for my soul take counsel together,
Schon reden ja meine Feinde von mir, / Und die mein Leben belauern beraten zusammen.
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: Pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.
Sie sprechen: "Gott hat ihn verlassen, / Verfolgt und greift ihn! Es rettet ihn keiner."
12 O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me.
Elohim, sei du nicht ferne von mir; / Mein Gott, eile mir zu Hilfe!
13 Let them be put to shame [and] consumed that are adversaries to my soul; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt.
Zuschanden werden, hinschwinden laß meine Widersacher! / In Schimpf und Schande laß alle sich hüllen, / Die da mein Unglück suchen!
14 But I will hope continually, And will praise thee yet more and more.
Ich aber will (dein) beständig harren / Und all dein Lob vermehren.
15 My mouth shall tell of thy righteousness, [And] of thy salvation all the day; For I know not the numbers [thereof].
Mein Mund soll deine Gerechtigkeit künden, / Allzeit dein Heil; denn ich kann sie nicht zählen.
16 I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Jehovah: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
Kundmachen will ich die mächtigen Taten Adonái Jahwes, / Will preisen deine Gerechtigkeit allein.
17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth; And hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
Elohim, du hast mich gelehrt von Jugend auf, / Und deine Wunder verkünd ich bis jetzt.
18 Yea, even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not, Until I have declared thy strength unto [the next] generation, Thy might to every one that is to come.
So verlaß mich auch nicht, Elohim, wenn das Alter kommt mit dem Silberhaar, / Bis ich deinen Namen der Nachwelt verkünde / Und allen Kommenden die Kraft!
19 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high; Thou who hast done great things, O God, who is like unto thee?
Deine Gerechtigkeit, Elohim, reicht bis zur Wolkenhöhe, / Der du so Großes getan. / Elohim, wer ist dir gleich?
20 Thou, who hast showed us many and sore troubles, Wilt quicken us again, And wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth.
Du hast uns erleben lassen viel Not und Leid, / Aber du wirst uns auch wieder erfreuen mit Lebensglück / Und aus der Erde Tiefen uns wieder erheben.
21 Increase thou my greatness, And turn again and comfort me.
Du wirst meine Hoheit mehren / Und mich wiederum trösten.
22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, [Even] thy truth, O my God: Unto thee will I sing praises with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
Auch ich will dich preisen mit Harfenklang / Für deine Treue, mein Gott; / Auf der Zither will ich dir spielen, / Du Heiliger Israels.
23 My lips shall shout for joy when I sing praises unto thee; And my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
Meine Lippen jauchzen, wenn ich dir spiele, / Und meine Seele, die du erlöst.
24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long; For they are put to shame, for they are confounded, that seek my hurt.
Auch meine Zunge soll allzeit künden deine Gerechtigkeit; / Denn beschämt, enttäuscht sind sie, die mein Unglück suchen.
