Psalms 61

1 For the Chief Musician; on a stringed instrument. [A Psalm] of David. Hear my cry, O God; Attend unto my prayer.

Au maître chantre. Avec instruments à cordes. De David. Ecoute, ô Dieu, ma plainte, sois attentif à ma prière!

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Du bout de la terre je t'invoque, le cœur assombri: conduis-moi sur le rocher où je ne saurais monter!

3 For thou hast been a refuge for me, A strong tower from the enemy.

Car tu es mon refuge, ma forte tour en face de l'ennemi.

4 I will dwell in thy tabernacle for ever: I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. (Selah)

Laisse-moi faire de ta tente mon séjour éternel, et chercher mon asile sous l'abri de tes ailes. (Pause)

5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: Thou hast given [me] the heritage of those that fear thy name.

Car, ô Dieu, tu exauces mes vœux, et tu remets en possession ceux qui craignent ton nom.

6 Thou wilt prolong the king’s life; His years shall be as many generations.

Ajoute des jours aux jours du Roi! Que ses ans soient comme un âge ajouté à des âges!

7 He shall abide before God for ever: Oh prepare lovingkindness and truth, that they may preserve him.

Qu'il reste sur le trône éternellement devant Dieu! Dispense-lui la grâce et la fidélité, qui le gardent!

8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, That I may daily perform my vows.

Alors je chanterai ton nom à jamais, en accomplissant mes vœux tous les jours.
