Psalms 34
1 [A Psalm] of David; when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless Jehovah at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Pesem Davidova, ko je bil izpremenil lice svoje pred Abimelekom, in je bil odšel, ker ga je on podil. Blagoslavljal bodem Gospoda vsak čas; vedno bode hvala njegova v ustih mojih.
2 My soul shall make her boast in Jehovah: The meek shall hear thereof, and be glad.
V Gospodu se bode ponašala duša moja; čuli bodejo krotki ter se veselili;
3 Oh magnify Jehovah with me, And let us exalt his name together.
Poveličujte Gospoda z menoj, in vkup povišujmo ime njegovo.
4 I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.
Iskal sem Gospoda in uslišal me je, in iz vseh strahov mojih me je rešil.
5 They looked unto him, and were radiant; And their faces shall never be confounded.
Kateri gledajo vanj in pritekajo, obličja njih naj se ne osramoté, govoré naj:
6 This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.
Ta ubogi je klical, in Gospod je uslišal; in rešil ga je iz vseh stisek njegovih.
7 The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, And delivereth them.
Šatorišče stavijo angeli Gospodovi okrog njih, kateri se ga bojé, in otme jih.
8 Oh taste and see that Jehovah is good: Blessed is the man that taketh refuge in him.
Pokusite in vidite, da je dober Gospod; blagor možu, kateri pribega k njemu.
9 Oh fear Jehovah, ye his saints; For there is no want to them that fear him.
Bojte se Gospoda, svetniki njegovi, ker stradanja ni njim, ki se ga bojé.
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; But they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good thing.
Mladi levi beračijo in stradajo; kateri pa iščejo Gospoda, ne pogrešajo nobenega blaga.
11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.
Dejte, sinovi, poslušajte me: strah Gospodov vas bodem učil.
12 What man is he that desireth life, And loveth [many] days, that he may see good?
Kdo je ón mož, kateri se veseli življenja, ljubi dní, rad uživa dobro?
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile.
Varuj jezik svoj hudega, in ustne tvoje naj ne govoré zvijače.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.
Umikaj se hudemu in delaj dobro; išči mirú in hodi za njim.
15 The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are [open] unto their cry.
Oči Gospodove pazijo na pravične, in ušesa njegova na njih vpitje.
16 The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
Srdito pa je njim, ki delajo hudo, obličje Gospodovo, da iztrebi sè zemlje njihov spomin.
17 [The righteous] cried, and Jehovah heard, And delivered them out of all their troubles.
Ko kličejo, sliši jih Gospod, in jih iz vseh njih stisek otima.
18 Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
Blizu je Gospod pobitim v srci; in potrte v duhu rešuje.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all.
Mnoge so pravičnega nadloge, ali iz njih vseh ga reši Gospod:
20 He keepeth all his bones: Not one of them is broken.
Vse kosti njegovo ohrani, ena izmed njih se ne zlomi.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked; And they that hate the righteous shall be condemned.
Krivične pa zadeva sè smrtjo nadloga, in kateri sovražijo pravičnega, pogubé se.
22 Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; And none of them that take refuge in him shall be condemned.
Gospod otima dušo hlapcev svojih, in ne pogubi se nobeden, ki pribega k njemu.
