Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend unto my wisdom; Incline thine ear to my understanding:
Hijo mío está atento a mi sabiduría, y a mi inteligencia inclina tu oído:
2 That thou mayest preserve discretion, And that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Para que guardes mis consejos; y tus labios conserven la ciencia.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil:
Porque los labios de la mujer extraña destilan panal de miel; y su paladar es más suave que el aceite:
4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword.
Mas su fin es amargo como el ajenjo; agudo como espada de dos filos.
Sus pies descienden a la muerte: sus pasos sustentan el sepulcro. (Sheol h7585)
6 So that she findeth not the level path of life: Her ways are unstable, [and] she knoweth [it] not.
Si no pesares el camino de vida, sus caminos son instables: no los conocerás.
7 Now therefore, [my] sons, hearken unto me, And depart not from the words of my mouth.
Ahora pues, hijos, oídme, y no os apartéis de las razones de mi boca.
8 Remove thy way far from her, And come not nigh the door of her house;
Aleja de ella tu camino; y no te acerques a la puerta de su casa.
9 Lest thou give thine honor unto others, And thy years unto the cruel;
Porque no des a los extraños tu honor; y tus años a cruel.
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy strength, And thy labors [be] in the house of an alien,
Porque no se harten los extraños de tu fuerza; y tus trabajos estén en casa del extraño:
11 And thou mourn at thy latter end, When thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
Y gimas en tus postrimerías, cuando se consumiere tu carne y tu cuerpo,
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, And my heart despised reproof;
Y digas: ¿Cómo aborrecí el castigo; y mi corazón menospreció la reprensión,
13 Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
Y no oí la voz de los que me castigaban; y a los que me enseñaban no incliné mi oído?
14 I was well-nigh in all evil In the midst of the assembly and congregation.
Poco se faltó para que no cayese en todo mal, en medio de la compañía y de la congregación.
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, And running waters out of thine own well.
Bebe el agua de tu cisterna, y las corrientes de tu pozo.
16 Should thy springs be dispersed abroad, And streams of water in the streets?
Derrámense por de fuera tus fuentes: en las plazas los ríos de tus aguas.
17 Let them be for thyself alone, And not for strangers with thee.
Sean para ti solo, y no para los extraños contigo.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; And rejoice in the wife of thy youth.
Será bendito tu manadero; y alégrate de la mujer de tu mocedad.
19 [As] a loving hind and a pleasant doe, Let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; And be thou ravished always with her love.
Cierva amada, y graciosa cabra; sus pechos te hartarán en todo tiempo; y de su amor andarás ciego de continuo.
20 For why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, And embrace the bosom of a foreigner?
¿Y por qué andarás ciego, hijo mío, con la ajena, y abrazarás el seno de la extraña?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah; And he maketh level all his paths.
Pues que los caminos del hombre están delante de los ojos de Jehová, y él pesa todas sus veredas.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked, And he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
Sus iniquidades prenderán al impío; y con las cuerdas de su pecado será detenido.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction; And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Él morirá sin castigo; y por la multitud de su locura errará.
