Job 38
1 Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Rồi giữa cơn bão tố, Chúa Hằng Hữu đáp lời Gióp:
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge?
“Ngươi là ai mà dám dùng lời vô ý thức làm mờ ám kế hoạch Ta?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; For I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
Hãy nai nịt như dũng sĩ, vì Ta sẽ hỏi con, và con phải trả lời.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
Con ở đâu khi Ta đặt móng nền quả đất? Thử nói đi, nếu con đủ tri thức.
5 Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched the line upon it?
Ai đã định kích thước địa cầu và ai đo đạc mặt đất?
6 Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner-stone thereof,
Nền địa cầu tựa trên gì, và ai đặt tảng đá móng cho nó
7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
trong lúc các sao mai hợp ca và các thiên thần reo mừng?
8 Or [who] shut up the sea with doors, When it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb;
Ai đặt cửa để khóa các đại dương khi chúng tràn lan từ vực thẳm,
9 When I made clouds the garment thereof, And thick darkness a swaddling-band for it,
và Ta dùng mây làm áo dài cho chúng, bọc chúng bằng bóng tối như tấm khăn?
10 And marked out for it my bound, And set bars and doors,
Ta đặt ranh giới cho các đại dương với bao nhiêu cửa đóng, then gài.
11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; And here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
Ta phán: ‘Đây là giới hạn, không đi xa hơn nữa. Các đợt sóng kiêu căng phải dừng lại!’
12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days [began], [And] caused the dayspring to know its place;
Có bao giờ con ra lệnh cho ban mai xuất hiện và chỉ chỗ đứng cho bình minh rạng rỡ?
13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?
Có bao giờ con bảo ánh dương trải ra đến tận cuối chân trời, để chấm dứt đêm trường tội ác?
14 It is changed as clay under the seal; And [all things] stand forth as a garment:
Khi ánh sáng đến gần, mặt đất đổi thay như đất sét dưới con dấu đồng; như chiếc áo vừa nhuộm màu sặc sỡ.
15 And from the wicked their light is withholden, And the high arm is broken.
Ánh sáng tố cáo hành tung bọn gian tà, và chận đứng những cánh tay hung hãn.
16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? Or hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep?
Có khi nào con tìm đến tận nguồn biển cả? Và dò tìm đến đáy vực sâu?
17 Have the gates of death been revealed unto thee? Or hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
Con có biết cổng âm phủ ở đâu? Có bao giờ con thấy cổng tử thần?
18 Hast thou comprehended the earth in its breadth? Declare, if thou knowest it all.
Con có nhận thức khoảng rộng của quả đất? Nếu con biết hãy trả lời Ta!
19 Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
Con có biết cội nguồn ánh sáng, và tìm xem bóng tối đi đâu?
20 That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, And that thou shouldest discern the paths to the house thereof?
Con có thể đem nó trở về nhà không? Con có biết làm sao để đến đó?
21 [Doubtless], thou knowest, for thou wast then born, And the number of thy days is great!
Dĩ nhiên con biết tất cả điều này! Vì con đã sinh ra trước khi nó được tạo, và hẳn con có nhiều kinh nghiệm!
22 Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow, Or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
Con có vào được kho chứa tuyết hoặc tìm ra nơi tồn trữ mưa đá?
23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, Against the day of battle and war?
(Ta dành nó như vũ khí cho thời loạn, cho ngày chinh chiến binh đao).
24 By what way is the light parted, Or the east wind scattered upon the earth?
Đường nào dẫn đến nơi tỏa ra ánh sáng? Cách nào gió đông tỏa lan trên mặt đất?
25 Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, Or the way for the lightning of the thunder;
Ai đào kênh cho mưa lũ? Ai chỉ đường cho sấm chớp?
26 To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; On the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
Ai khiến mưa tưới tràn đất khô khan, trong hoang mạc không một người sống?
27 To satisfy the waste and desolate [ground], And to cause the tender grass to spring forth?
Ai cho đất tiêu sơ thấm nhuần mưa móc, và cho cỏ mọc xanh rì cánh đồng hoang?
28 Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
Phải chăng mưa có cha? Ai sinh ra sương móc?
29 Out of whose womb came the ice? And the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
Ai là mẹ nước đá? Ai sinh ra những giọt sương từ trời?
30 The waters hide themselves [and become] like stone, And the face of the deep is frozen.
Nước đông cứng như đá tảng, mặt vực thẳm cũng đóng băng.
31 Canst thou bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the bands of Orion?
Con có thể di chuyển các vì sao— buộc chặt chòm sao Thất Tinh? Hoặc cởi dây trói chòm sao Thiên Lang không?
32 Canst thou lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? Or canst thou guide the Bear with her train?
Con có thể khiến các quần tinh di chuyển theo mùa không hay dẫn đường chòm Hùng Tinh với đàn con nó?
33 Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? Canst thou establish the dominion thereof in the earth?
Con có biết các định luật của trời? Và lập quyền thống trị trên khắp đất?
34 Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover thee?
Con có thể gọi mây để tạo thành mưa không?
35 Canst thou send forth lightnings, that they may go, And say unto thee, Here we are?
Con có quyền truyền bảo sấm sét, cho chúng đi và trình lại: ‘Có chúng tôi đây!’
36 Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who hath given understanding to the mind?
Ai đặt sự khôn ngoan trong tâm hồn và ban sự thông sáng cho tâm trí?
37 Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,
Ai đủ trí khôn để đếm các cụm mây? Ai có thể nghiêng đổ các vò nước trên trời,
38 When the dust runneth into a mass, And the clods cleave fast together?
khi bụi kết cứng lại, và đất thịt dính chặt với nhau.
39 Canst thou hunt the prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
Con có thể đi săn mồi cho sư tử, hoặc cung ứng thức ăn cho con nó no nê,
40 When they couch in their dens, [And] abide in the covert to lie in wait?
khi chúng nằm trong hang động hoặc rình mồi trong rừng sâu không?
41 Who provideth for the raven his prey, When his young ones cry unto God, [And] wander for lack of food?
Ai cung cấp lương thực nuôi đàn quạ, lúc quạ con kêu cầu Đức Chúa Trời, và lang thang kiếm chẳng ra mồi?”
