Job 15
1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
ಆಗ ತೇಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಜನು ಹೀಗೆಂದನು:
2 Should a wise man make answer with vain knowledge, And fill himself with the east wind?
“ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನುಡಿದು ಪೂರ್ವದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಉಂಟೋ?
3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk, Or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋಜಕವಾದ ನುಡಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ವಾದಿಸುವನೋ?
4 Yea, thou doest away with fear, And hinderest devotion before God.
ನೀನಾದರೋ ದೇವರ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವೆ. ದೇವರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವೆ.
5 For thine iniquity teacheth thy mouth, And thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಪವೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ನೀನು ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವೆ.
6 Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; Yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
ನಾನಲ್ಲ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಹೌದು, ನಿನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳೇ ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತವೆ.
7 Art thou the first man that was born? Or wast thou brought forth before the hills?
“ನೀನು ಮೊದಲು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಪುರುಷನೋ? ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನೋ?
8 Hast thou heard the secret counsel of God? And dost thou limit wisdom to thyself?
ನೀನು ದೇವರ ಆಲೋಚನಾ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಸ್ಯನೋ? ಜ್ಞಾನವು ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮೀಸಲೋ?
9 What knowest thou, that we know not? What understandest thou, which is not in us?
ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಏನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ? ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಯಾವ ಒಳನೋಟವನ್ನು ನೀನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ?
10 With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, Much elder than thy father.
ತಲೆ ನರೆತವರೂ, ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮುದುಕರಾದವರೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗಿಂತ ವೃದ್ಧರಾದವರೂ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.
11 Are the consolations of God too small for thee, Even the word that is gentle toward thee?
ದೇವರ ಸಂತೈಸುವಿಕೆಗಳೂ ಮೃದುವಾದ ಹಿತವಚನಗಳು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾಕಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
12 Why doth thy heart carry thee away? And why do thine eyes flash,
ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೆಳೆದಿರುವುದು ಏಕೆ? ಏಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಿಡಿಕಾರುತ್ತಿದೆ?
13 That against God thou turnest thy spirit, And lettest words go out of thy mouth?
ನೀನು ದೇವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಹೊರಹಾಕುತ್ತಿರುವೆ? ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಕೋಪದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸುತ್ತೀಯಲ್ಲಾ?
14 What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
“ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಎಷ್ಟರವನು? ಅವನು ಶುದ್ಧನಿರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ? ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿರಬಹುದೆ?
15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones; Yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight:
ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರನ್ನು ಆತುಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆಕಾಶಗಳೂ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶುದ್ಧವಲ್ಲ.
16 How much less one that is abominable and corrupt, A man that drinketh iniquity like water!
ಹಾಗಿರುವಾಗ, ನೀರಿನಂತೆ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು, ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಅಲ್ಪನೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲವೇ?
17 I will show thee, hear thou me; And that which I have seen I will declare
“ಕೇಳು, ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,
18 (Which wise men have told From their fathers, and have not hid it;
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಜರಿಂದ ಕಲಿತಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಮರೆಮಾಡದೆ ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು.
19 Unto whom alone the land was given, And no stranger passed among them):
ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೇಶವು ಕೊಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದು ಪರದೇಶೀಯರು ಹಾದುಹೋಗುವಂತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, Even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ದುಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ವೇದನೆಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನಿರ್ದಯನು ತನ್ನ ವರ್ಷಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
21 A sound of terrors is in his ears; In prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
ಭಯಂಕರವಾದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಅವನ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತವೆ; ಎಲ್ಲವು ಸುಖವಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಸುಲಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವನು ದುಷ್ಟನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, And he is waited for of the sword.
ಕತ್ತಲೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಪಾರಾಗುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ದುಷ್ಟನು ನಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನ ಖಡ್ಗವು ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾದಿದೆ.
23 He wandereth abroad for bread, [saying], Where is it? He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
ಅವನು ಆಹಾರ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದು ರಣಹದ್ದಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಲೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಕತ್ತಲೆಯ ದಿನ ತನ್ನ ಕೈ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
24 Distress and anguish make him afraid; They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟೂ, ಸಂಕಟವೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೆದರಿಸಿ, ಆಕ್ರಮಣ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧನಾದ ರಾಜನಂತೆ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ,
25 Because he hath stretched out his hand against God, And behaveth himself proudly against the Almighty;
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮುಷ್ಠಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದನಲ್ಲಾ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರ ಎದುರು ನಿಂತು ಶೂರನಂತೆ ಮೆರೆದನಲ್ಲಾ.
26 He runneth upon him with a [stiff] neck, With the thick bosses of his bucklers;
ದೇವರ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುರಾಣಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಓಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
27 Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, And gathered fat upon his loins;
“ದುಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಬ್ಬೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಸೊಂಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೊಜ್ಜನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
28 And he hath dwelt in desolate cities, In houses which no man inhabited, Which were ready to become heaps;
ಹಾಳಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಯಾರೂ ವಾಸಿಸದ, ಕುಸಿಯಲು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾದಂಥ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, Neither shall their possessions be extended on the earth.
ದುಷ್ಟನು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೂ ಅವನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ಸ್ಥಿರವಲ್ಲ; ಅವನ ಸೊತ್ತು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
30 He shall not depart out of darkness; The flame shall dry up his branches, And by the breath of [God’s] mouth shall he go away.
ಕತ್ತಲೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನು ಪಾರಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಕಿಚ್ಚು ಅವನ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಣಗಿಸುವುದು; ದೇವರ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ಅವನು ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋಗುವನು.
31 Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself; For vanity shall be his recompense.
ದುಷ್ಟನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ಮೋಸಹೋಗದಿರಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದವುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗಾಗುವ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವು ಶೂನ್ಯವೇ.
32 It shall be accomplished before his time, And his branch shall not be green.
ದುಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು ಬತ್ತಿ ಹೋಗುವನು; ಅವನ ಕೊಂಬೆಯು ಹಸಿರಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, And shall cast off his flower as the olive-tree.
ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೆಯ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಂತೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಾಗದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು; ದುಷ್ಟನು ಹೂವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉದುರಿಸುವ ಓಲಿವ್ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯ ಮರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇರುವನು.
34 For the company of the godless shall be barren, And fire shall consume the tents of bribery.
ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲದವರ ಸಹವಾಸ ಬಂಜರು, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಲಂಚಕೋರರ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕುವುದು.
35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity, And their heart prepareth deceit.
ಅವರು ಹಿಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿ, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಹೆರುವರು; ಅವರ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯು ವಂಚನೆಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವುದು.”
