Deuteronomy 13
1 If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,
௧“உங்களுக்குள்ளே ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிலும், சொப்பனக்காரனாகிலும் எழும்பி:
2 and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
௨நீங்கள் அறியாத வேறே தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, அவர்களை வணங்குவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி, உங்களுக்கு ஒரு அடையாளத்தையும் அற்புதத்தையும் காண்பிப்பேன் என்று குறிப்பாகச் சொன்னாலும், அவன் சொன்ன அடையாளமும் அற்புதமும் நடந்தாலும்,
3 thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams: for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
௩அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிலும், அந்தச் சொப்பனக்காரனாகிலும் சொல்லுகிறவைகளைக் கேட்காதிருப்பீர்களாக; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடத்தில் நீங்கள் உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உங்கள் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் அன்புசெலுத்துகிறீர்களோ இல்லையோ என்று அறியும்படி உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களைச் சோதிக்கிறார்.
4 Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
௪நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவைப் பின்பற்றி, அவருக்குப் பயந்து, அவருடைய கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, அவருடைய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டு, அவரைச் சேவித்து, அவரைப் பற்றிக்கொள்வீர்களாக.
5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage, to draw thee aside out of the way which Jehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.
௫அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசியும், அந்தச் சொப்பனக்காரனும் கொலைசெய்யப்படக்கடவன்; நீங்கள் நடக்கும்படி உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுக்கு விதித்த வழியைவிட்டு உங்களை விலக்கும்படி, அவன், உங்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்தவரும் உங்களை அடிமைத்தன வீட்டிலிருந்து நீங்கலாக்கி மீட்டுக்கொண்டவருமான உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு விரோதமான துரோகப்பேச்சைப் பேசினான்; இப்படிப்பட்ட தீமையை உங்களிடத்திலிருந்து விலக்குவீர்களாக.
6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, that is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
௬“உன் தாய்க்குப் பிறந்த உன்னுடைய சகோதரனாகிலும், உன்னுடைய மகனாகிலும், மகளாகிலும், உன் மனைவியாகிலும், உன் உயிரைப்போலிருக்கிற உன்னுடைய நண்பனாகிலும் உன்னை நோக்கி: நாம் போய் வேறே தெய்வங்களை வணங்குவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,
7 of the gods of the peoples that are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
௭உன்னைச் சுற்றிலும் உனக்குச் சமீபத்திலாகிலும் உனக்குத் தூரத்திலாகிலும், தேசத்தின் ஒருமுனை துவங்கி மறுமுனைவரையுள்ள எவ்விடத்திலாகிலும் இருக்கிற மக்களுடைய தெய்வங்களில், நீயும் உன் முற்பிதாக்களும் அறியாத அந்நிய தெய்வங்களை வணங்கும்படி இரகசியமாக உன்னைத் தூண்டிவிட்டால்,
8 thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
௮நீ அவனுக்குச் சம்மதியாமலும், அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடாமலும், உன் கண் அவன்மேல் இரக்கம்கொள்ளாமலும், அவனைத் தப்பவிடாமலும், அவனை ஒளித்துவைக்காமலும்,
9 but thou shalt surely kill him; thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
௯அவனைக் கொலை செய்துவிடவேண்டும்; அவனைக் கொலைசெய்வதற்கு, முதலில் உன் கையும் பின்பு சகல மக்களின் கைகளும் அவன்மேல் இருப்பதாக.
10 And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
௧0அடிமைத்தன வீடாகிய எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து உன்னைப் புறப்படச்செய்த உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை விட்டுவிலகும்படி அவன் உன்னை தூண்டியதால், அவன் சாகும்படி அவன்மேல் கல்லெறிவாயாக.
11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is in the midst of thee.
௧௧இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் யாவரும் அதைக் கேட்டுப் பயந்து, இனி உன் நடுவே இப்படிப்பட்ட தீமையான காரியத்தைச் செய்யாமலிருப்பார்கள்.
12 If thou shalt hear tell concerning one of thy cities, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to dwell there, saying,
௧௨“உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா நீ குடியிருப்பதற்குக் கொடுக்கும் பட்டணங்கள் ஒன்றில் வீணர்களாகிய துன்மார்க்கர்கள் உன்னிடத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு,
13 Certain base fellows are gone out from the midst of thee, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
௧௩நீங்கள் அறியாத வேறே தெய்வங்களை வணங்குவதற்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று தங்கள் பட்டணத்தின் குடிமக்களைத் தூண்டினார்கள் என்கிற செய்தியைக் கேள்விப்படும்போது,
14 then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in the midst of thee,
௧௪நீ நன்றாக விசாரித்து, ஆராய்ந்து, அப்படிப்பட்ட அருவருப்பான காரியம் உன் நடுவே நடந்தது உண்மையும் நிச்சயமும் என்று கண்டால்,
15 thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
௧௫அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின் குடிமக்களைப் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டி, அதையும் அதிலுள்ள அனைத்தையும் அதின் மிருகஜீவன்களையும் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் அழித்து,
16 And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, unto Jehovah thy God: and it shall be a heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
௧௬அதில் கொள்ளையிட்டதையெல்லாம் அதின் நடுவீதியிலே கூட்டி, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கென்று அந்தப் பட்டணத்தையும், அதில் கொள்ளையிடப்பட்ட அனைத்தையும் முழுவதுமாக அக்கினியில் சுட்டெரிக்கக்கடவாய்; அது இனிக் கட்டப்படாமல் என்றென்றைக்கும் மண்மேடாயிருக்கக்கடவது.
17 And there shall cleave nought of the devoted thing to thy hand; that Jehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
௧௭சபிக்கப்பட்ட பொருட்களில் ஒன்றும் உன் கையில் இருக்கவேண்டாம். நான் இன்று உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் கற்பனைகளையெல்லாம் நீ கைக்கொண்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்யும்படி, அவருடைய சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடுப்பாயானால்,
18 when thou shalt hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.
௧௮யெகோவா தமது கோபத்தின் பயங்கரத்தைவிட்டுத் திரும்பி, உனக்குத் தயைவு செய்து, உனக்கு மனமிரங்கி, அவர் உன் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்களித்தபடி உன்னைப் பெருகச்செய்வார்.
