< 2 Samuel 16 >

1 And when David was a little past the top [of the ascent], behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred clusters of raisins, and a hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
Nígbà tí Dafidi sì fi díẹ̀ kọjá orí òkè náà, sì wò ó, Ṣiba ìránṣẹ́ Mefiboṣeti sì ń bọ̀ wá pàdé rẹ̀, òun àti kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ méjì tí a ti dì ní gàárì, àti igba ìṣù àkàrà lórí wọn, àti ọgọ́rùn-ún síírí àjàrà gbígbẹ, àti ọgọ́rùn-ún èso ẹ̀rún, àti ìgò ọtí wáìnì kan.
2 And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as are faint in the wilderness may drink.
Ọba sì wí fún Ṣiba pé, “Kí ni wọ̀nyí?” Ṣiba sì wí pé, “Kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ wọ̀nyí ni fún àwọn ará ilé ọba láti máa gùn àti àkàrà yìí, àti èso ẹ̀rún yìí ni fún àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọdékùnrin láti jẹ; àti ọtí wáìnì yìí ni fún àwọn aláàárẹ̀ ní ijù láti mu.”
3 And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem; for he said, To-day will the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
Ọba sì wí pé, “Ọmọ olúwa rẹ dà?” Ṣiba sì wí fún ọba pé, “Wò ó, ó jókòó ní Jerusalẹmu; nítorí tí ó wí pé, ‘Lónìí ni ìdílé Israẹli yóò mú ìjọba baba mi padà wá fún mi.’”
4 Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine is all that pertaineth unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I do obeisance; let me find favor in thy sight, my lord, O king.
Ọba sì wí fún Ṣiba pé, “Wò ó, gbogbo nǹkan tí í ṣe ti Mefiboṣeti jẹ́ tìrẹ.” Ṣiba sì wí pé, “Mo túúbá, jẹ́ kí n rí oore-ọ̀fẹ́ lójú rẹ, olúwa mi ọba.”
5 And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out thence a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came out, and cursed still as he came.
Dafidi ọba sì dé Bahurimu, sì wò ó, ọkùnrin kan ti ibẹ̀ jáde wá, láti ìdílé Saulu wá, orúkọ rẹ̀ sì ń jẹ́ Ṣimei, ọmọ Gera, ó sì ń bú èébú bí o tí ń bọ̀.
6 And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
Ó sì sọ òkúta sí Dafidi, àti sí gbogbo ìránṣẹ́ Dafidi ọba, àti sí gbogbo ènìyàn, gbogbo àwọn alágbára ọkùnrin sì wà lọ́wọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ̀ àti lọ́wọ́ òsì rẹ̀.
7 And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Begone, begone, thou man of blood, and base fellow:
Báyìí ni Ṣimei sì wí nígbà tí ó ń yọ èébú, “Jáde, ìwọ ọkùnrin ẹ̀jẹ̀, ìwọ ọkùnrin Beliali.
8 Jehovah hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and Jehovah hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son; and, behold, thou art [taken] in thine own mischief, because thou art a man of blood.
Olúwa mú gbogbo ẹ̀jẹ̀ ìdílé Saulu padà wá sí orí rẹ, ní ipò ẹni tí ìwọ jẹ ọba; Olúwa ti fi ìjọba náà lé Absalomu ọmọ rẹ lọ́wọ́: sì wò ó, ìwà búburú rẹ ni ó mú èyí wá bá ọ, nítorí pé ọkùnrin ẹ̀jẹ̀ ni ìwọ.”
9 Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.
Abiṣai ọmọ Seruiah sì wí fún ọba pé, “Èéṣe tí òkú ajá yìí fi ń bú olúwa mi ọba? Jẹ́ kí èmi kọjá, èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, kí èmi sì bẹ́ ẹ́ lórí.”
10 And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? Because he curseth, and because Jehovah hath said unto him, Curse David; who then shall say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
Ọba sì wí pé, “Kín ni èmi ní ṣe pẹ̀lú yín, ẹ̀yin ọmọ Seruiah? Bí ó bá ń bú èébú, nítorí tí Olúwa ti wí fún un pé, ‘Bú Dafidi!’ Ta ni yóò sì wí pé, ‘Kín ni ìdí tí o fi ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀.’”
11 And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more [may] this Benjamite now [do it]? let him alone, and let him curse; for Jehovah hath bidden him.
Dafidi sì wí fún Abiṣai, àti fún gbogbo àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Wò ó, ọmọ mi tí ó ti inú mi wá, ń wá mi kiri, ǹjẹ́ mélòó mélòó ni ará Benjamini yìí yóò sì ṣe? Fi í sílẹ̀, sì jẹ́ kí o máa yan èébú; nítorí pé Olúwa ni ó sọ fún un.
12 It may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done unto me, and that Jehovah will requite me good for [his] cursing of me this day.
Bóyá Ọlọ́run yóò wo ìpọ́njú mi, Olúwa yóò sì fi ìre san án fún mi ní ipò èébú rẹ̀ lónìí.”
13 So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hill-side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.
Dafidi àti àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ̀ sì ń lọ ní ọ̀nà, Ṣimei sì ń rìn òdìkejì òkè tí ó wà lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ rẹ̀, ó sì ń yan èébú bí ó ti ń lọ, ó sì ń sọ ọ́ lókùúta, ó sì ń fọ́n erùpẹ̀.
14 And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.
Ọba, àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn tí ó ń bẹ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ sì dé Jordani, ó sì rẹ̀ wọ́n, wọ́n sì sinmi níbẹ̀.
15 And Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
Absalomu àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn, àwọn ọkùnrin Israẹli sì wá sí Jerusalẹmu, Ahitofeli sì wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
16 And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, [Long] live the king, [Long] live the king.
Ó sì ṣe, nígbà tí Huṣai ará Arki, ọ̀rẹ́ Dafidi tọ Absalomu wá, Huṣai sì wí fún Absalomu pé, “Kí ọba ó pẹ́! Kí ọba ó pẹ́.”
17 And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?
Absalomu sì wí fún Huṣai pé, “Oore rẹ sí ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ ni èyí? Èéṣe tí ìwọ kò bá ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ lọ?”
18 And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom Jehovah, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, his will I be, and with him will I abide.
Huṣai sì wí fún Absalomu pé, “Bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́ nítorí ẹni tí Olúwa, àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn yìí, àti gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin Israẹli bá yàn, tirẹ̀ lèmi ó jẹ́, òun lèmi ó sì bá jókòó.
19 And again, whom should I serve? [should I] not [serve] in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father’s presence, so will I be in thy presence.
Àti pé, ta ni èmi ó sì sìn? Kò ha yẹ kí èmi ó máa sìn níwájú ọmọ rẹ̀? Gẹ́gẹ́ bí èmi ti ń sìn rí níwájú baba rẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi ó sìn níwájú rẹ.”
20 Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give your counsel what we shall do.
Absalomu sì wí fún Ahitofeli pé, “Ẹ bá ará yín gbìmọ̀ ohun tí àwa ó ṣe.”
21 And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, that he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel will hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then will the hands of all that are with thee be strong.
Ahitofeli sì wí fún Absalomu pé, “Wọlé tọ àwọn obìnrin baba rẹ lọ, tí ó fi sílẹ̀ láti máa ṣọ́ ilé, gbogbo Israẹli yóò sì gbọ́ pé, ìwọ di ẹni ìríra sí baba rẹ, ọwọ́ gbogbo àwọn tí ó wà lọ́dọ̀ rẹ yóò sì le.”
22 So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
Wọ́n sì tẹ́ àgọ́ kan fún Absalomu ní òrùlé; Absalomu sì wọlé tọ àwọn obìnrin baba rẹ̀ lójú gbogbo Israẹli.
23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
Ìmọ̀ Ahitofeli tí ó máa ń gbà ni ìgbà náà, ó dàbí ẹni pé ènìyàn béèrè nǹkan lọ́wọ́ Ọlọ́run, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni gbogbo ìmọ̀ Ahitofeli fún Dafidi àti fún Absalomu sì rí.
