2 Chronicles 11
1 And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, that were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
Vindo pois Roboão a Jerusalem, ajuntou da casa de Judah e Benjamin cento e oitenta mil escolhidos, dextros na guerra para pelejarem contra Israel, e para restituirem o reino a Roboão.
2 But the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Porém a palavra do Senhor veiu a Semaias, homem de Deus, dizendo:
3 Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
Falla a Roboão, filho de Salomão, rei de Judah, e a todo o Israel, em Judah e Benjamin, dizendo:
4 Thus saith Jehovah, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house; for this thing is of me. So they hearkened unto the words of Jehovah, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
Assim diz o Senhor: Não subireis, nem pelejareis contra os vossos irmãos, tornae cada um á sua casa; porque de mim proveiu isto. E ouviram as palavras do Senhor, e tornaram d'irem contra Jeroboão.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
E Roboão habitou em Jerusalem: e edificou cidades para fortalezas, em Judah.
6 He built Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
Edificou pois a Bethlehem, e a Etam, e a Tekoa,
7 And Beth-zur, and Soco, and Adullam,
E a Beth-zur, e a Soco, e a Adullam,
8 and Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
E a Gath, e a Maresa, e a Ziph,
9 and Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
E a Adoraim, e a Lachis, e a Azeka,
10 and Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin, fortified cities.
E a Zora, e a Aijalon, e a Hebron, que estavam em Judah e em Benjamin; cidades fortes.
11 And he fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of victuals, and oil and wine.
E fortificou estas fortalezas e poz n'ellas maioraes, e armazens de viveres, e d'azeite, e de vinho.
12 And in every city [he put] shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong. And Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.
E poz em cada cidade pavezes e lanças; fortificou-as em grande maneira: e Judah e Benjamin foram seus.
13 And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their border.
Tambem os sacerdotes, e os levitas, que havia em todo o Israel, se ajuntaram a elle de todos os seus termos.
14 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, that they should not execute the priest’s office unto Jehovah;
Porque os levitas deixaram os seus arrabaldes, e a sua possessão, e vieram a Judah e a Jerusalem (porque Jeroboão e seus filhos os lançaram fóra para que não ministrassem ao Senhor.
15 and he appointed him priests for the high places, and for the he-goats, and for the calves which he had made.
E elle constituiu para si sacerdotes, para os altos, e para os demonios, e para os bezerros, que fizera.)
16 And after them, out of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their hearts to seek Jehovah, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice unto Jehovah, the God of their fathers.
Depois d'esses tambem de todas as tribus d'Israel, os que deram o seu coração a buscarem ao Senhor Deus d'Israel, vieram a Jerusalem, para offerecerem sacrificios ao Senhor Deus de seus paes.
17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years; for they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon.
Assim fortaleceram o reino de Judah e corroboraram a Roboão, filho de Salomão, por tres annos: porque tres annos andaram no caminho de David e Salomão.
18 And Rehoboam took him a wife, Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David, [and of] Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
E Roboão tomou para si, por mulher, a Mahalat, filha de Jerimoth, filho de David; e a Abihail, filha d'Eliab, filho de Jessé.
19 and she bare him sons: Jeush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
A qual lhe pariu filhos, a Jeus, e a Samarias, e a Zaham.
20 And after her he took Maacah the daughter of Absalom; and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
E depois d'ella tomou a Maaca, filha d'Absalão; esta lhe pariu a Abias, e a Atthai, e a Ziza, e a Selomith.
21 And Rehoboam loved Maacah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines, and begat twenty and eight sons and threescore daughters).
E amava Roboão mais a Maaca, filha d'Absalão, do que a todas as suas outras mulheres e concubinas; porque elle tinha tomado dezoito mulheres, e sessenta concubinas; e gerou vinte e oito filhos, e sessenta filhas.
22 And Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah to be chief, [even] the prince among his brethren; for [he was minded] to make him king.
E Roboão poz por cabeça a Abias, filho de Maaca, para ser maioral entre os seus irmãos; porque o queria fazer rei.
23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fortified city: and he gave them victuals in abundance. And he sought [for them] many wives.
E usou de prudencia, e de todos os seus filhos alguns espalhou por todas as terras de Judah e Benjamin, por todas as cidades fortes; e deu-lhes viveres em abundancia: e lhes desejou uma multidão de mulheres.
