1 John 2
1 My little children, these things write I unto you that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
he priyabaalakaa. h, yu. smaabhi ryat paapa. m na kriyeta tadartha. m yu. smaan pratyetaani mayaa likhyante| yadi tu kenaapi paapa. m kriyate tarhi pitu. h samiipe. asmaaka. m eka. h sahaayo. arthato dhaarmmiko yii"su. h khrii. s.to vidyate|
2 and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
sa caasmaaka. m paapaanaa. m praaya"scitta. m kevalamasmaaka. m nahi kintu likhilasa. msaarasya paapaanaa. m praaya"scitta. m|
3 And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
vaya. m ta. m jaaniima iti tadiiyaaj naapaalanenaavagacchaama. h|
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
aha. m ta. m jaanaamiiti vaditvaa yastasyaaj naa na paalayati so. an. rtavaadii satyamata nca tasyaantare na vidyate|
5 but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily hath the love of God been perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him:
ya. h ka"scit tasya vaakya. m paalayati tasmin ii"svarasya prema satyaruupe. na sidhyati vaya. m tasmin varttaamahe tad etenaavagacchaama. h|
6 he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked.
aha. m tasmin ti. s.thaamiiti yo gadati tasyedam ucita. m yat khrii. s.to yaad. rg aacaritavaan so. api taad. rg aacaret|
7 Beloved, no new commandment write I unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: the old commandment is the word which ye heard.
he priyatamaa. h, yu. smaan pratyaha. m nuutanaamaaj naa. m likhaamiiti nahi kintvaadito yu. smaabhi rlabdhaa. m puraatanaamaaj naa. m likhaami| aadito yu. smaabhi ryad vaakya. m "sruta. m saa puraatanaaj naa|
8 Again, a new commandment write I unto you, which thing is true in him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shineth.
punarapi yu. smaan prati nuutanaaj naa mayaa likhyata etadapi tasmin yu. smaasu ca satya. m, yato. andhakaaro vyatyeti satyaa jyoti"scedaanii. m prakaa"sate;
9 He that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother, is in the darkness even until now.
aha. m jyoti. si vartta iti gaditvaa ya. h svabhraatara. m dve. s.ti so. adyaapi tamisre varttate|
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.
svabhraatari ya. h priiyate sa eva jyoti. si varttate vighnajanaka. m kimapi tasmin na vidyate|
11 But he that hateth his brother is in the darkness, and walketh in the darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.
kintu svabhraatara. m yo dve. s.ti sa timire varttate timire carati ca timire. na ca tasya nayane. andhiikriyete tasmaat kka yaamiiti sa j naatu. m na "saknoti|
12 I write unto you, [my] little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
he "si"sava. h, yuuya. m tasya naamnaa paapak. samaa. m praaptavantastasmaad aha. m yu. smaan prati likhaami|
13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye know him who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil one. I have written unto you, little children, because ye know the Father.
he pitara. h, ya aadito varttamaanasta. m yuuya. m jaaniitha tasmaad yu. smaan prati likhaami| he yuvaana. h yuuya. m paapatmaana. m jitavantastasmaad yu. smaan prati likhaami| he baalakaa. h, yuuya. m pitara. m jaaniitha tasmaadaha. m yu. smaan prati likhitavaan|
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye know him who is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the evil one.
he pitara. h, aadito yo varttamaanasta. m yuuya. m jaaniitha tasmaad yu. smaan prati likhitavaan| he yuvaana. h, yuuya. m balavanta aadhve, ii"svarasya vaakya nca yu. smadantare vartate paapaatmaa ca yu. smaabhi. h paraajigye tasmaad yu. smaan prati likhitavaan|
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
yuuya. m sa. msaare sa. msaarasthavi. saye. su ca maa priiyadhva. m ya. h sa. msaare priiyate tasyaantare pitu. h prema na ti. s.thati|
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
yata. h sa. msaare yadyat sthitam arthata. h "saariirikabhaavasyaabhilaa. so dar"sanendriyasyaabhilaa. so jiivanasya garvva"sca sarvvametat pit. rto na jaayate kintu sa. msaaradeva|
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)
sa. msaarastadiiyaabhilaa. sa"sca vyatyeti kintu ya ii"svarasye. s.ta. m karoti so. anantakaala. m yaavat ti. s.thati| (aiōn g165)
18 Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye heard that antichrist cometh, even now have there arisen many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour.
he baalakaa. h, "se. sakaalo. aya. m, apara. m khrii. s.taari. nopasthaavyamiti yu. smaabhi ryathaa "sruta. m tathaa bahava. h khrii. s.taaraya upasthitaastasmaadaya. m "se. sakaalo. astiiti vaya. m jaaniima. h|
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us.
te. asmanmadhyaan nirgatavanta. h kintvasmadiiyaa naasan yadyasmadiiyaa abhavi. syan tarhyasmatsa"nge. asthaasyan, kintu sarvve. asmadiiyaa na santyetasya prakaa"sa aava"syaka aasiit|
20 And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
ya. h pavitrastasmaad yuuyam abhi. seka. m praaptavantastena sarvvaa. ni jaaniitha|
21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and because no lie is of the truth.
yuuya. m satyamata. m na jaaniitha tatkaara. naad aha. m yu. smaan prati likhitavaan tannahi kintu yuuya. m tat jaaniitha satyamataacca kimapyan. rtavaakya. m notpadyate tatkaara. naadeva|
22 Who is the liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, [even] he that denieth the Father and the Son.
yii"surabhi. siktastraateti yo naa"ngiikaroti ta. m vinaa ko. aparo. an. rtavaadii bhavet? sa eva khrii. s.taari rya. h pitara. m putra nca naa"ngiikaroti|
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that confesseth the Son hath the Father also.
ya. h ka"scit putra. m naa"ngiikaroti sa pitaramapi na dhaarayati ya"sca putrama"ngiikaroti sa pitaramapi dhaarayati|
24 As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.
aadito yu. smaabhi ryat "sruta. m tad yu. smaasu ti. s.thatu, aadita. h "sruta. m vaakya. m yadi yu. smaasu ti. s.thati, tarhi yuuyamapi putre pitari ca sthaasyatha|
sa ca pratij nayaasmabhya. m yat pratij naatavaan tad anantajiivana. m| (aiōnios g166)
26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that would lead you astray.
ye janaa yu. smaan bhraamayanti taanadhyaham ida. m likhitavaan|
27 And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him.
apara. m yuuya. m tasmaad yam abhi. seka. m praaptavanta. h sa yu. smaasu ti. s.thati tata. h ko. api yad yu. smaan "sik. sayet tad anaava"syaka. m, sa caabhi. seko yu. smaan sarvvaa. ni "sik. sayati satya"sca bhavati na caatathya. h, ata. h sa yu. smaan yadvad a"sik. sayat tadvat tatra sthaasyatha|
28 And now, [my] little children, abide in him; that, if he shall be manifested, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
ataeva he priyabaalakaa yuuya. m tatra ti. s.thata, tathaa sati sa yadaa prakaa"si. syate tadaa vaya. m pratibhaanvitaa bhavi. syaama. h, tasyaagamanasamaye ca tasya saak. saanna trapi. syaamahe|
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one also that doeth righteousness is begotten of him.
sa dhaarmmiko. astiiti yadi yuuya. m jaaniitha tarhi ya. h ka"scid dharmmaacaara. m karoti sa tasmaat jaata ityapi jaaniita|
