< Psalms 6 >
1 For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments, upon the eight-stringed lyre. A Psalm by David. LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger, neither discipline me in your wrath.
Nkosi, ungangikhuzi entukuthelweni yakho, ungangijezisi ekuvutheni kolaka lwakho.
2 Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint. LORD, heal me, for my bones are troubled.
Woba lomusa kimi, Nkosi, ngoba ngibuthakathaka. Nkosi, ngisilisa mina, ngoba amathambo ami ayakhathazeka.
3 My soul is also in great anguish. But you, LORD—how long?
Lomphefumulo wami ukhathazekile kakhulu: Kodwa wena, Nkosi, koze kube nini?
4 Return, LORD. Deliver my soul, and save me for your loving kindness’ sake.
Phenduka, Nkosi, khulula umphefumulo wami; ungisindise ngenxa yomusa wakho.
5 For in death there is no memory of you. In Sheol (Sheol ), who shall give you thanks?
Ngoba ekufeni kakukho ukukukhumbula; engcwabeni ngubani ozakubonga? (Sheol )
6 I am weary with my groaning. Every night I flood my bed. I drench my couch with my tears.
Ngikhathele yikububula kwami; ubusuku bonke ngintshezisa icansi lami, ngezinyembezi zami ngimanzise umbheda wami.
7 My eye wastes away because of grief. It grows old because of all my adversaries.
Ilihlo lami lidliwe ngenxa yosizi, liyaguga ngenxa yezitha zami zonke.
8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.
Sukani kimi, lonke benzi bobubi, ngoba iNkosi izwile ilizwi lokulila kwami.
9 The LORD has heard my supplication. The LORD accepts my prayer.
INkosi izwile ukuncenga kwami; iNkosi izakwemukela umkhuleko wami.
10 May all my enemies be ashamed and dismayed. They shall turn back, they shall be disgraced suddenly.
Zonke izitha zami zizayangeka zitshaywe luvalo kakhulu; zizaphenduka, zihle ziyangeke.
