< Psalms 49 >

1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah. Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,
[Psalm Lun Tulik Natul Korah] Lohng ma inge, kowos nukewa! Porongo, kowos mwet in acn nukewa —
2 both low and high, rich and poor together.
Mwet fulat ac mwet srisrik oana sie, Mwet kasrup ac oayapa mwet sukasrup.
3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom. My heart will utter understanding.
Nunak luk ac fah kalem; Nga ac fah kaskas ke kas in lalmwetmet.
4 I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will solve my riddle on the harp.
Nga fah nunku ke soakas uh, Ac aketeya kalmac ke nga srital ke harp uh.
5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels surrounds me?
Nga tia sangeng in pacl in ongoiya Ke mwet lokoalok elos rauniyula,
6 Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches—
Ku ke mwet koluk, su lulalfongi na ke mwe kasrup lalos, Elos ac konkin ke ma puspis lalos.
7 none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him.
Sie mwet tia ku in sifacna molella; El tia ku in moli nu sin God ke moul lal,
8 For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,
Mweyen molin moul lun sie mwet arulana yokla. Ma el ac sang moli an tia ku in fal
9 that he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.
In sang molella liki misa, Tuh elan ku in moul nwe tok.
10 For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others.
Mwet nukewa ku in liye pac lah finne mwet lalmwetmet, elos ac misa pac, Oapana mwet lalfon ac mwet lofong. Elos nukewa ac misa ac filiya mwe kasrup lalos nu sin fwilin tulik natulos.
11 Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.
Kulyuk lalos pa lohm selos nu tok ma pahtpat; Pa ingan nien muta lalos nwe tok, Finne tuh oasr acn lalos sifacna meet.
12 But man, despite his riches, does not endure. He is like the animals that perish.
Fulat lun sie mwet tia ku in sruokilya liki misa; El ac misa pacna, oana ma orakrak nukewa.
13 This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. (Selah)
Liye ma sikyak nu selos su lulalfongi kaclos sifacna, Liye saflaiyalos su pwayekin mwe kasrup lalos —
14 They are appointed as a flock for Sheol (Sheol h7585). Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol (Sheol h7585), far from their mansion.
Elos ac misa pac oana sheep uh, Na Misa pa ac fah shepherd lalos. Mwet suwoswos elos fah kutangulosla, Ke manolos sa na kulawi In facl lun mwet misa, loesla liki acn selos. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol (Sheol h7585), for he will receive me. (Selah)
Tusruktu God El ac fah moliyula; El fah moliyula liki ku lun misa. (Sheol h7585)
16 Do not be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Nik kom supwarla sie mwet el fin kasrupi, Ku mwe kasrup lal fin yokelik na;
17 for when he dies he will carry nothing away. His glory will not descend after him.
El tia ku in us ma ingan ke el misa; Mwe kasrup lal tia ku in welul.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul— and men praise you when you do well for yourself—
Mwet se finne insewowo in moul lal pacl inge, Ac kaksakinyuk el ke sripen el mwet eteyuk se,
19 he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light.
El ac fah weang pacna mwet matu lal su misa meet, Ac som nu in acn lohsr ma pahtpat.
20 A man who has riches without understanding, is like the animals that perish.
Fulat lun sie mwet tia ku in sruokilya liki misa; El ac nuna misa pacna, oana ma orakrak nukewa.
