Psalms 33
1 Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous! Praise is fitting for the upright.
正しき者よ、主によって喜べ、さんびは直き者にふさわしい。
2 Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings.
琴をもって主をさんびせよ、十弦の立琴をもって主をほめたたえよ。
3 Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy!
新しい歌を主にむかって歌い、喜びの声をあげて巧みに琴をかきならせ。
4 For the LORD’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness.
主のみことばは直く、そのすべてのみわざは真実だからである。
5 He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of the LORD.
主は正義と公平とを愛される。地は主のいつくしみで満ちている。
6 By the LORD’s word, the heavens were made: all their army by the breath of his mouth.
もろもろの天は主のみことばによって造られ、天の万軍は主の口の息によって造られた。
7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap. He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
主は海の水を水がめの中に集めるように集め、深い淵を倉におさめられた。
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
全地は主を恐れ、世に住むすべての者は主を恐れかしこめ。
9 For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.
主が仰せられると、そのようになり、命じられると、堅く立ったからである。
10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.
主はもろもろの国のはかりごとをむなしくし、もろもろの民の企てをくじかれる。
11 The counsel of the LORD stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
主のはかりごとはとこしえに立ち、そのみこころの思いは世々に立つ。
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.
主をおのが神とする国はさいわいである。主がその嗣業として選ばれた民はさいわいである。
13 The LORD looks from heaven. He sees all the sons of men.
主は天から見おろされ、すべての人の子らを見、
14 From the place of his habitation he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,
そのおられる所から地に住むすべての人をながめられる。
15 he who fashions all of their hearts; and he considers all of their works.
主はすべて彼らの心を造り、そのすべてのわざに心をとめられる。
16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an army. A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
王はその軍勢の多きによって救を得ない。勇士はその力の大いなるによって助けを得ない。
17 A horse is a vain thing for safety, neither does he deliver any by his great power.
馬は勝利に頼みとならない。その大いなる力も人を助けることはできない。
18 Behold, the LORD’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness,
見よ、主の目は主を恐れる者の上にあり、そのいつくしみを望む者の上にある。
19 to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine.
これは主が彼らの魂を死から救い、ききんの時にも生きながらえさせるためである。
20 Our soul has waited for the LORD. He is our help and our shield.
われらの魂は主を待ち望む。主はわれらの助け、われらの盾である。
21 For our heart rejoices in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
われらは主の聖なるみ名に信頼するがゆえに、われらの心は主にあって喜ぶ。
22 Let your loving kindness be on us, LORD, since we have hoped in you.
主よ、われらが待ち望むように、あなたのいつくしみをわれらの上にたれてください。
