Psalms 109
1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. God of my praise, do not remain silent,
聖歌隊の指揮者によってうたわせたダビデの歌 わたしのほめたたえる神よ、もださないでください。
2 for they have opened the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit against me. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.
彼らは悪しき口と欺きの口をあけて、わたしにむかい、偽りの舌をもってわたしに語り、
3 They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
恨みの言葉をもってわたしを囲み、ゆえなくわたしを攻めるのです。
4 In return for my love, they are my adversaries; but I am in prayer.
彼らはわが愛にむくいて、わたしを非難します。しかしわたしは彼らのために祈ります。
5 They have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
彼らは悪をもってわが善に報い、恨みをもってわが愛に報いるのです。
6 Set a wicked man over him. Let an adversary stand at his right hand.
彼の上に悪しき人を立て、訴える者に彼を訴えさせてください。
7 When he is judged, let him come out guilty. Let his prayer be turned into sin.
彼がさばかれるとき、彼を罪ある者とし、その祈を罪に変えてください。
8 Let his days be few. Let another take his office.
その日を少なくし、その財産をほかの人にとらせ、
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
その子らをみなしごにし、その妻をやもめにしてください。
10 Let his children be wandering beggars. Let them be sought from their ruins.
その子らを放浪者として施しをこわせ、その荒れたすまいから追い出させてください。
11 Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.
彼が持っているすべての物を債主に奪わせ、その勤労の実をほかの人にかすめさせてください。
12 Let there be no one to extend kindness to him, neither let there be anyone to have pity on his fatherless children.
彼にいつくしみを施す者はひとりもなく、またそのみなしごをあわれむ者もなく、
13 Let his posterity be cut off. In the generation following let their name be blotted out.
その子孫を絶えさせ、その名を次の代に消し去ってください。
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by the LORD. Do not let the sin of his mother be blotted out.
その父たちの不義は主のみ前に覚えられ、その母の罪を消し去らないでください。
15 Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off their memory from the earth;
それらを常に主のみ前に置き、彼の記憶を地から断ってください。
16 because he did not remember to show kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, the broken in heart, to kill them.
これは彼がいつくしみを施すことを思わず、かえって貧しい者、乏しい者を責め、心の痛める者を殺そうとしたからです。
17 Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him. He did not delight in blessing, and it was far from him.
彼はのろうことを好んだ。のろいを彼に臨ませてください。彼は恵むことを喜ばなかった。恵みを彼から遠ざけてください。
18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment. It came into his inward parts like water, like oil into his bones.
彼はのろいを衣のように着た。のろいを水のようにその身にしみこませ、油のようにその骨にしみこませてください。
19 Let it be to him as the clothing with which he covers himself, for the belt that is always around him.
またそれを自分の着る着物のようにならせ、常に締める帯のようにならせてください。
20 This is the reward of my adversaries from the LORD, of those who speak evil against my soul.
これがわたしを非難する者と、わたしに逆らって悪いことを言う者の主からうける報いとしてください。
21 But deal with me, GOD the Lord, for your name’s sake, because your loving kindness is good, deliver me;
しかし、わが主なる神よ、あなたはみ名のために、わたしを顧みてください。あなたのいつくしみの深きにより、わたしをお助けください。
22 for I am poor and needy. My heart is wounded within me.
わたしは貧しく、かつ乏しいのです。わたしの心はわがうちに傷ついています。
23 I fade away like an evening shadow. I am shaken off like a locust.
わたしは夕日の影のように去りゆき、いなごのように追い払われます。
24 My knees are weak through fasting. My body is thin and lacks fat.
わたしのひざは断食によってよろめき、わたしの肉はやせ衰え、
25 I have also become a reproach to them. When they see me, they shake their head.
わたしは彼らにそしられる者となりました。彼らはわたしを見ると、頭を振ります。
26 Help me, LORD, my God. Save me according to your loving kindness;
わが神、主よ、わたしをお助けください。あなたのいつくしみにしたがって、わたしをお救いください。
27 that they may know that this is your hand; that you, LORD, have done it.
主よ、これがあなたのみ手のわざであること、あなたがそれをなされたことを、彼らに知らせてください。
28 They may curse, but you bless. When they arise, they will be shamed, but your servant shall rejoice.
彼らはのろうけれども、あなたは祝福されます。わたしを攻める者をはずかしめ、あなたのしもべを喜ばせてください。
29 Let my adversaries be clothed with dishonor. Let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe.
わたしを非難する者にはずかしめを着せ、おのが恥を上着のようにまとわせてください。
30 I will give great thanks to the LORD with my mouth. Yes, I will praise him among the multitude.
わたしはわが口をもって大いに主に感謝し、多くの人のなかで主をほめたたえます。
31 For he will stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who judge his soul.
主は貧しい者の右に立って、死罪にさだめようとする者から彼を救われるからです。
