< Proverbs 11 >
1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but accurate weights are his delight.
Ihe ọtụtụ aghụghọ bụ arụ nʼihu Onyenwe anyị ma ihe ọtụtụ zuru ezu na-anata ihuọma nʼebe ọ nọ.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
Nganga bịa, nlelị a na-eso ya, ma onye dị umeala nʼobi na-amụta ihe.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
Eziokwu nke ndị ziri ezi nʼobi na-edu ha; ma omume gbagọrọ agbagọ nke ndị aghụghọ nʼala ha nʼiyi.
4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
Akụnụba gị agaghị azọpụta gị nʼụbọchị ikpe; ọ bụ naanị ezi omume na-anapụta site nʼọnwụ.
5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
Ezi omume nke ndị na-enweghị ịta ụta na-eme ka ụzọ ha zie ezi, ma ajọ omume nke ndị na-emebi iwu na-akwada ha.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
Ezi omume nke onye ziri ezi na-azọpụta ya; ma ọchịchọ ọjọọ nke ndị na-aghọ aghụghọ ka a ga-eji jide ha.
7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
Mgbe onye ajọ omume nwụrụ, olileanya ya niile alala nʼiyi, ihe niile ọ na-ele anya inweta site nʼike ya alaakwala nʼiyi.
8 A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
Chineke na-azọpụta ndị ezi omume site na nsogbu ha, ma ndị ajọ omume ka ọ na-ahapụ ka ha daba nʼime ya.
9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
Okwu ọjọọ ka onye ajọ omume ji emebi onye agbataobi ya. Ma site nʼihe ọmụma ka onye ezi omume ga-eji dọpụta ndụ ya.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
Ọganihu nke onye ezi omume na-atọ mmadụ niile ụtọ, otu aka ahụ kwa, ọnwụ onye ajọ omume na-atọ mmadụ niile ụtọ.
11 By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
A na-esite na ngọzị nke ndị ziri ezi bulie obodo elu, ma a nʼala ya nʼiyi site nʼokwu ọnụ ndị ajọ omume.
12 One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
Ikwu okwu nleda megide onye agbataobi gị bụ nzuzu; ma onye ahụ nwere nghọta na-agba nkịtị.
13 One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
Onye na-agba asịrị na-ekpughe ihe nzuzo, ma onye kwesiri ntụkwasị obi na-ekpuchi ihe nzuzo.
14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
Nʼihi enweghị ezi ndị ndu ka obodo ji ada, ma ọtụtụ ndị ezi ndụmọdụ na-eweta mmeri.
15 He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
Onye ọbụla na-ana onye ọbịa nʼakaebe ga-ata ahụhụ, ma onye jụrụ ịkwụ ụgwọ onye ọzọ ji, nọ na ntụkwasị obi.
16 A gracious woman obtains honor, but violent men obtain riches.
Nsọpụrụ na-adịrị nwanyị nwere obiọma, ma ndị na-adịghị eme ebere bụ naanị akụnụba ka ha na-enweta.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
Onye nwere obiọma baara onwe ya uru, ma onye nwere obi ọjọọ na-ewetara onwe ya nsogbu.
18 Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
Onye ajọ omume na-anata ụgwọ ọrụ aghụghọ, ma onye na-agha ezi omume dịka mkpụrụ na-anata ụgwọ ọrụ kwesiri ekwesi.
19 He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
Onye na-eguzosi ike ime ihe ziri ezi ga-enwe ndụ; ma onye na-agbaso ihe ọjọọ ga-ahụ ọnwụ.
20 Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
Onyenwe anyị na-akpọ ndị obi ha gbagọrọ agbagọ asị ma ndị ụzọ ha na-enweghị ihe ịta ụta na-amasị ya.
21 Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.
Ọ bụ ihe doro anya na ndị na-emebi iwu ga-ata ahụhụ, ma ndị ezi omume ka a ga-anapụta.
22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
Nwanyị mara mma, nke na-enweghị uche, dịka ọlaedo a gbanyere ezi nʼimi.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Olileanya onye ezi omume bụ ọṅụ, ma onye na-emebi iwu na-ele naanị anya ihe ọjọọ.
24 There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
Otu onye na-agbasapụ aka ya na-enye enye ma na-enweta akụ karịa, ma onye ọzọ na-egbochi egbochi ma na-ada ogbenye.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
E, onye na-agbasa aka ya ga-aba ọgaranya; onye ọbụla na-atụte ndị ọzọ ka a ga-atụtekwa.
26 People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
Ndị mmadụ na-abụ onye na-achịkọba mkpụrụ ọka na-ereghị ya ere ọnụ, ma ha na-ekpetara onye nke dị njikere ire nke ya ngọzị Chineke.
27 He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
Onye na-achọ ihe ọma na-enweta ihuọma, ma ihe ọjọọ na-abịakwasị onye na-achọ ya.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
Ndị tụkwasịrị obi nʼakụnụba ha ga-ada, ma onye ezi omume ga-epupụta dịka akwụkwọ ndụ.
29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Onye na-ewetara ezinaụlọ ha nsogbu ga-eketa naanị ifufe, onye nzuzu ga-abụ ohu nke onye maara ihe.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
Mkpụrụ nke ndị ezi omume bụ osisi na-enye ndụ, onye na-erita mkpụrụobi nʼuru bụ onye maara ihe.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
Ọ bụrụ na a ga-akwụ ndị ezi omume ụgwọ ọrụ ha nʼụwa a; a ga-esi aṅaa ghara ịkwụ ndị na-amaghị Chineke na ndị mmehie ụgwọ ọrụ.
