< Matthew 24 >
1 Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.
अनन्तरं यीशु र्यदा मन्दिराद् बहि र्गच्छति, तदानीं शिष्यास्तं मन्दिरनिर्म्माणं दर्शयितुमागताः।
2 But he answered them, “You see all of these things, do not you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.”
ततो यीशुस्तानुवाच, यूयं किमेतानि न पश्यथ? युष्मानहं सत्यं वदामि, एतन्निचयनस्य पाषाणैकमप्यन्यपाषाणेापरि न स्थास्यति सर्व्वाणि भूमिसात् कारिष्यन्ते।
3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the consummation of the age (aiōn )?"
अनन्तरं तस्मिन् जैतुनपर्व्वतोपरि समुपविष्टे शिष्यास्तस्य समीपमागत्य गुप्तं पप्रच्छुः, एता घटनाः कदा भविष्यन्ति? भवत आगमनस्य युगान्तस्य च किं लक्ष्म? तदस्मान् वदतु। (aiōn )
4 Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.
तदानीं यीशुस्तानवोचत्, अवधद्व्वं, कोपि युष्मान् न भ्रमयेत्।
5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray.
बहवो मम नाम गृह्लन्त आगमिष्यन्ति, ख्रीष्टोऽहमेवेति वाचं वदन्तो बहून् भ्रमयिष्यन्ति।
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.
यूयञ्च संग्रामस्य रणस्य चाडम्बरं श्रोष्यथ, अवधद्व्वं तेन चञ्चला मा भवत, एतान्यवश्यं घटिष्यन्ते, किन्तु तदा युगान्तो नहि।
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.
अपरं देशस्य विपक्षो देशो राज्यस्य विपक्षो राज्यं भविष्यति, स्थाने स्थाने च दुर्भिक्षं महामारी भूकम्पश्च भविष्यन्ति,
8 But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.
एतानि दुःखोपक्रमाः।
9 “Then they will deliver you up to oppression and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake.
तदानीं लोका दुःखं भोजयितुं युष्मान् परकरेषु समर्पयिष्यन्ति हनिष्यन्ति च, तथा मम नामकारणाद् यूयं सर्व्वदेशीयमनुजानां समीपे घृणार्हा भविष्यथ।
10 Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.
बहुषु विघ्नं प्राप्तवत्सु परस्परम् ऋृतीयां कृतवत्सु च एकोऽपरं परकरेषु समर्पयिष्यति।
11 Many false prophets will arise and will lead many astray.
तथा बहवो मृषाभविष्यद्वादिन उपस्थाय बहून् भ्रमयिष्यन्ति।
12 Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.
दुष्कर्म्मणां बाहुल्याञ्च बहूनां प्रेम शीतलं भविष्यति।
13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.
किन्तु यः कश्चित् शेषं यावद् धैर्य्यमाश्रयते, सएव परित्रायिष्यते।
14 This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
अपरं सर्व्वदेशीयलोकान् प्रतिमाक्षी भवितुं राजस्य शुभसमाचारः सर्व्वजगति प्रचारिष्यते, एतादृशि सति युगान्त उपस्थास्यति।
15 “When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
अतो यत् सर्व्वनाशकृद्घृणार्हं वस्तु दानियेल्भविष्यद्वदिना प्रोक्तं तद् यदा पुण्यस्थाने स्थापितं द्रक्ष्यथ, (यः पठति, स बुध्यतां)
16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
तदानीं ये यिहूदीयदेशे तिष्ठन्ति, ते पर्व्वतेषु पलायन्तां।
17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house.
यः कश्चिद् गृहपृष्ठे तिष्ठति, स गृहात् किमपि वस्त्वानेतुम् अधेा नावरोहेत्।
18 Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes.
यश्च क्षेत्रे तिष्ठति, सोपि वस्त्रमानेतुं परावृत्य न यायात्।
19 But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days!
तदानीं गर्भिणीस्तन्यपाययित्रीणां दुर्गति र्भविष्यति।
20 Pray that your flight will not be in the winter nor on a Sabbath,
अतो यष्माकं पलायनं शीतकाले विश्रामवारे वा यन्न भवेत्, तदर्थं प्रार्थयध्वम्।
21 for then there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.
आ जगदारम्भाद् एतत्कालपर्य्यनन्तं यादृशः कदापि नाभवत् न च भविष्यति तादृशो महाक्लेशस्तदानीम् उपस्थास्यति।
22 Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.
तस्य क्लेशस्य समयो यदि ह्स्वो न क्रियेत, तर्हि कस्यापि प्राणिनो रक्षणं भवितुं न शक्नुयात्, किन्तु मनोनीतमनुजानां कृते स कालो ह्स्वीकरिष्यते।
23 “Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There!’ do not believe it.
अपरञ्च पश्यत, ख्रीष्टोऽत्र विद्यते, वा तत्र विद्यते, तदानीं यदी कश्चिद् युष्मान इति वाक्यं वदति, तथापि तत् न प्रतीत्।
24 For false christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
यतो भाक्तख्रीष्टा भाक्तभविष्यद्वादिनश्च उपस्थाय यानि महन्ति लक्ष्माणि चित्रकर्म्माणि च प्रकाशयिष्यन्ति, तै र्यदि सम्भवेत् तर्हि मनोनीतमानवा अपि भ्रामिष्यन्ते।
25 “Behold, I have told you beforehand.
पश्यत, घटनातः पूर्व्वं युष्मान् वार्त्ताम् अवादिषम्।
26 “If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
अतः पश्यत, स प्रान्तरे विद्यत इति वाक्ये केनचित् कथितेपि बहि र्मा गच्छत, वा पश्यत, सोन्तःपुरे विद्यते, एतद्वाक्य उक्तेपि मा प्रतीत।
27 For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
यतो यथा विद्युत् पूर्व्वदिशो निर्गत्य पश्चिमदिशं यावत् प्रकाशते, तथा मानुषपुत्रस्याप्यागमनं भविष्यति।
28 For wherever the carcass is, that is where the vultures gather together.
यत्र शवस्तिष्ठति, तत्रेव गृध्रा मिलन्ति।
29 “But immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;
अपरं तस्य क्लेशसमयस्याव्यवहितपरत्र सूर्य्यस्य तेजो लोप्स्यते, चन्द्रमा ज्योस्नां न करिष्यति, नभसो नक्षत्राणि पतिष्यन्ति, गगणीया ग्रहाश्च विचलिष्यन्ति।
30 and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.
तदानीम् आकाशमध्ये मनुजसुतस्य लक्ष्म दर्शिष्यते, ततो निजपराक्रमेण महातेजसा च मेघारूढं मनुजसुतं नभसागच्छन्तं विलोक्य पृथिव्याः सर्व्ववंशीया विलपिष्यन्ति।
31 He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
तदानीं स महाशब्दायमानतूर्य्या वादकान् निजदूतान् प्रहेष्यति, ते व्योम्न एकसीमातोऽपरसीमां यावत् चतुर्दिशस्तस्य मनोनीतजनान् आनीय मेलयिष्यन्ति।
32 “Now from the fig tree learn this parable: When its branch has now become tender and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near.
उडुम्बरपादपस्य दृष्टान्तं शिक्षध्वं; यदा तस्य नवीनाः शाखा जायन्ते, पल्लवादिश्च निर्गच्छति, तदा निदाघकालः सविधो भवतीति यूयं जानीथ;
33 Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, even at the doors.
तद्वद् एता घटना दृष्ट्वा स समयो द्वार उपास्थाद् इति जानीत।
34 Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished.
युष्मानहं तथ्यं वदामि, इदानीन्तनजनानां गमनात् पूर्व्वमेव तानि सर्व्वाणि घटिष्यन्ते।
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
नभोमेदिन्यो र्लुप्तयोरपि मम वाक् कदापि न लोप्स्यते।
36 “But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
अपरं मम तातं विना मानुषः स्वर्गस्थो दूतो वा कोपि तद्दिनं तद्दण्डञ्च न ज्ञापयति।
37 As the days of Noah were, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
अपरं नोहे विद्यमाने यादृशमभवत् तादृशं मनुजसुतस्यागमनकालेपि भविष्यति।
38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship,
फलतो जलाप्लावनात् पूर्व्वं यद्दिनं यावत् नोहः पोतं नारोहत्, तावत्कालं यथा मनुष्या भोजने पाने विवहने विवाहने च प्रवृत्ता आसन्;
39 and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
अपरम् आप्लावितोयमागत्य यावत् सकलमनुजान् प्लावयित्वा नानयत्, तावत् ते यथा न विदामासुः, तथा मनुजसुतागमनेपि भविष्यति।
40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left.
तदा क्षेत्रस्थितयोर्द्वयोरेको धारिष्यते, अपरस्त्याजिष्यते।
41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one will be left.
तथा पेषण्या पिंषत्योरुभयो र्योषितोरेका धारिष्यतेऽपरा त्याजिष्यते।
42 Watch therefore, for you do not know in what hour your Lord comes.
युष्माकं प्रभुः कस्मिन् दण्ड आगमिष्यति, तद् युष्माभि र्नावगम्यते, तस्मात् जाग्रतः सन्तस्तिष्ठत।
43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
कुत्र यामे स्तेन आगमिष्यतीति चेद् गृहस्थो ज्ञातुम् अशक्ष्यत्, तर्हि जागरित्वा तं सन्धिं कर्त्तितुम् अवारयिष्यत् तद् जानीत।
44 Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.
युष्माभिरवधीयतां, यतो युष्माभि र्यत्र न बुध्यते, तत्रैव दण्डे मनुजसुत आयास्यति।
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?
प्रभु र्निजपरिवारान् यथाकालं भोजयितुं यं दासम् अध्यक्षीकृत्य स्थापयति, तादृशो विश्वास्यो धीमान् दासः कः?
46 Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.
प्रभुरागत्य यं दासं तथाचरन्तं वीक्षते, सएव धन्यः।
47 Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.
युष्मानहं सत्यं वदामि, स तं निजसर्व्वस्वस्याधिपं करिष्यति।
48 But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’
किन्तु प्रभुरागन्तुं विलम्बत इति मनसि चिन्तयित्वा यो दुष्टो दासो
49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,
ऽपरदासान् प्रहर्त्तुं मत्तानां सङ्गे भोक्तुं पातुञ्च प्रवर्त्तते,
50 the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect it and in an hour when he does not know it,
स दासो यदा नापेक्षते, यञ्च दण्डं न जानाति, तत्कालएव तत्प्रभुरुपस्थास्यति।
51 and will cut him in pieces and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.
तदा तं दण्डयित्वा यत्र स्थाने रोदनं दन्तघर्षणञ्चासाते, तत्र कपटिभिः साकं तद्दशां निरूपयिष्यति।
