< Luke 8 >
1 Soon afterwards, he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of God’s Kingdom. With him were the twelve,
Oluvannyuma lw’ebyo Yesu n’agenda ng’akyalira ebibuga ebinene n’ebitono ng’abuulira Enjiri y’obwakabaka bwa Katonda, n’abayigirizwa be ekkumi n’ababiri nga bali naye.
2 and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out;
Waaliwo n’abakazi Yesu be yali agobyeko emyoyo emibi ne be yali awonyezza endwadde. Mu bo mwe mwali ne Maliyamu eyayitibwanga Magudaleene gwe yagobako baddayimooni omusanvu,
3 and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others who served them from their possessions.
ne Jowaana muka Kuza eyali omukulu w’olubiri lwa Kerode; ne Susaana, n’abalala bangi, abaatoolanga ku byabwe ne balabirira Yesu n’abayigirizwa be.
4 When a great multitude came together and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable:
Awo ekibiina kinene bwe kyali kikuŋŋaana, nga n’abantu abava mu buli kibuga bajja eri Yesu, Yesu n’abagerera olugero luno nti,
5 “The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.
“Omulimi yagenda mu nnimiro ye okusiga ensigo. Bwe yatandika okusiga ensigo, ezimu ne zigwa ku mabbali g’ekkubo ne bazirinnyirira, n’ebinyonyi eby’omu bbanga ne bizirya.
6 Other seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
Ensigo endala zaagwa ku lwazi, bwe zaamera ne zikala kubanga tezaalina mazzi.
7 Other fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it.
Ensigo endala zaagwa mu maggwa, bwe zaamera n’amaggwa nago ne gakula ne gazizisa.
8 Other fell into the good ground and grew and produced one hundred times as much fruit.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Naye ensigo endala n’azisiga mu ttaka eddungi, ne zikula ne zibala ebibala emirundi kikumi.” N’amaliriza ng’agamba nti, “Alina amatu okuwulira awulire.”
9 Then his disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean?”
Abayigirizwa be ne bamubuuza amakulu g’olugero olwo.
10 He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’
N’abaddamu nti, “Mmwe muweereddwa omukisa okumanya ebyama by’obwakabaka bwa Katonda, naye abalala, njogera gye bali mu ngero, “‘bwe batunula baleme kulaba, bwe bawulira baleme kutegeera.’
11 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
“Kale, amakulu g’olugero olwo ge gano: Ensigo ky’ekigambo kya Katonda.
12 Those along the road are those who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.
Ensigo ezaagwa ku mabbali g’ekkubo, be bawulira ekigambo, naye Setaani n’ajja n’akibaggyako mu mutima gwabwe, si kulwa nga bakkiriza ne balokolebwa.
13 Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root. They believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.
Ezaagwa ku lwazi be bawulira ne basanyukira ekigambo, kyokka ne kitaba na mmizi. Be bakkiriza, naye okugezesebwa bwe kujja ne bagwa.
14 What fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life; and they bring no fruit to maturity.
Ezaagwa mu maggwa, be bawulira ekigambo, naye okweraliikirira n’obugagga n’amasanyu g’omu bulamu ne bibazisa, ne bataleeta bibala bikuze bulungi.
15 Those in the good ground, these are those who with an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and produce fruit with perseverance.
Naye ezaagwa ku ttaka eddungi be bantu abalungi era abeesigwa, era bakuuma ekigambo ku mitima ne babala ebibala n’obugumiikiriza.
16 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.
“Tewali muntu akoleeza ttaala ate nagisaanikirako akalobo oba n’agissa wansi w’ekitanda. Agiwanika waggulu ku kikondo, olwo lw’esobola okumulisiza abantu abayingira.
17 For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.
Kubanga tewali kintu na kimu ekyakwekebwa ekitalikwekulwa, era tewali na kimu ekitalimanyibwa mu lwatu.
18 Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever does not have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”
Noolwekyo mwegendereze nga muwuliriza, kubanga oyo alina alyongerwako; naye oyo atalina, n’ekyo ky’alowooza nti alina kigenda kumuggyibwako.”
19 His mother and brothers came to him, and they could not come near him for the crowd.
Awo nnyina ne baganda ba Yesu ne bajja okumulaba, naye ne batasobola kumutuukako olw’ekibiina ky’abantu ekinene.
20 Some people told him, “Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.”
Ne wabaawo amubuulira nti, “Nnyoko ne baganda bo obwedda bayimiridde wabweru, baagala kukulabako.”
21 But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
Yesu n’addamu nti, “Mmange ne baganda bange be bano abawulira ekigambo kya Katonda ne bakigondera.”
22 Now on one of those days, he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.
Lwali lumu Yesu n’alinnya mu lyato n’abayigirizwa be, n’abagamba nti, “Tuwunguke tulage emitala w’ennyanja.” Ne basimbula okugenda.
23 But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water.
Bwe baali baseeyeeya Yesu ne yeebaka. Awo omuyaga ogw’amaanyi ne gukunta ku nnyanja, n’eryato ne liyuuga nnyo, ne baba mu kabi kanene.
24 They came to him and awoke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are dying!” He awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; then they ceased, and it was calm.
Abayigirizwa ne bamuzuukusa, ne bagamba nti, “Mukama waffe, Mukama waffe, tusaanawo!” N’azuukuka n’aboggolera omuyaga n’amazzi agaali geefuukudde. Ne bikkakkana, ennyanja n’etteeka!
25 He said to them, “Where is your faith?” Being afraid, they marveled, saying to one another, “Who is this then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”
N’alyoka abagamba nti, “Okukkiriza kwammwe kuluwa?” Ne batya, ne beewuunya nnyo, ne bagambagana nti, “Omuntu ono ye ani? Alagira omuyaga n’amazzi ne bimugondera!”
26 Then they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
Awo ne bagoba emitala w’eri mu nsi y’Abageresene eyolekedde Ggaliraaya.
27 When Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man out of the city who had demons for a long time met him. He wore no clothes, and did not live in a house, but in the tombs.
Awo Yesu bwe yava mu lyato omusajja eyaliko baddayimooni n’ajja okumusisinkana ng’ava mu kibuga. Omusajja oyo yali amaze ebbanga ddene nga tayambala ngoye, nga tasula na mu nju, wabula ng’asula mu ntaana.
28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me!”
Awo bwe yalaba Yesu n’awowoggana n’agwa wansi mu maaso ga Yesu, n’aleekaana nti, “Onjagaza ki, Yesu, Omwana wa Katonda Ali Waggulu Ennyo? Nkwegayiridde tombonyaabonya!”
29 For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bonds apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.
Kubanga Yesu yali alagidde omwoyo omubi guve ku musajja oyo. Emirundi mingi yalumbibwanga n’amaanyi mangi, ne bwe baamusibanga n’enjegere, n’akuumibwa mu masamba, yabikutulanga, ddayimooni n’amulaza mu ddungu.
30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.
Awo Yesu n’abuuza omusajja nti, “Erinnya lyo ggwe ani?” Omusajja n’addamu nti, “Nze Ligyoni,” kubanga omusajja yaliko baddayimooni bangi.
31 They begged him that he would not command them to go into the Abyss (Abyssos ).
Baddayimooni ne beegayirira Yesu aleme okubagobera mu bunnya obutakoma. (Abyssos )
32 Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. Then he allowed them.
Waaliwo eggana ly’embizzi, awo ku lusozi, nga lirya, baddayimooni ne beegayirira Yesu abasindike mu mbizzi ezo. Yesu n’abakkiriza.
33 The demons came out of the man and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
Baddayimooni ne bava ku musajja ne bayingira mu mbizzi, amangwago eggana lyonna ne lifubutuka nga liserengeta olusozi, ne lyewanula ku bbangabanga, ne ligwa mu nnyanja, embizzi zonna ne zisaanawo.
34 When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country.
Abalunzi b’embizzi ezo bwe baakiraba, ne badduka embiro ne bagenda, ne bategeeza ab’omu malundiro ne mu kibuga, ebintu byonna ebibaddewo.
35 People went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
Ekibiina ky’abantu ne bagenda okulaba ebibaddewo ne bajja eri Yesu, ne balaba omusajja eyagobwako baddayimooni ng’atudde awo awali ebigere bya Yesu ng’ayambadde engoye era nga mulamu ddala! Ne batya nnyo.
36 Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed.
Abo abaaliwo okusookera ddala ne bategeeza abalala ng’omusajja eyaliko ddayimooni bwe yawonyezebwa.
37 All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. Then he entered into the boat and returned.
Awo abantu bonna ab’ensi eyo ey’Abagerasene ne basaba Yesu abaviire, kubanga baali batidde nnyo. N’asaabala mu lyato n’avaayo.
38 But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,
Omusajja, eyagobwako baddayimooni n’amusaba agende naye, naye Yesu n’agaana.
39 “Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you.” He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
N’agamba omusajja nti, “Ddayo ewammwe obategeeze Katonda by’akukoledde.” Omusajja n’agenda ng’ategeeza buli gwe yasanganga mu kibuga, Yesu bye yali amukoledde.
40 When Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.
Yesu bwe yakomawo ekibiina ky’abantu ne bamwaniriza n’essanyu kubanga bonna baali bamulindirira.
41 Behold, a man named Jairus came. He was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged him to come into his house,
Mu kiseera ekyo ne wajjawo omusajja erinnya lye Yayiro, eyali omukulembeze w’ekkuŋŋaaniro, n’agwa ku bigere bya Yesu n’amwegayirira ajje mu maka ge,
42 for he had an only born daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him.
kubanga muwala we omu yekka gwe yalina, eyali aweza emyaka nga kkumi n’ebiri yali afa. Yesu n’agenda naye, naye ng’ekibiina kimunyigiriza.
43 A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians and could not be healed by any,
Mu kibiina ky’abantu ekyo mwalimu omukazi eyali amaze emyaka kkumi n’ebiri ng’alwadde ekikulukuto ky’omusaayi. Yali atambudde nnyo mu basawo era nga bamumazeeko ebintu bye byonna ng’abasasula, naye ne watabaawo asobola kumuwonya.
44 came behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak. Immediately the flow of her blood stopped.
Omukazi ono n’asemberera Yesu ng’amuvaako emabega, n’akoma ku lukugiro lw’ekyambalo kya Yesu, ekikulukuto ky’omusaayi ne kiwona mu kaseera ako kennyini!
45 Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”
Yesu n’abuuza nti, “Ani ankutteko?” Bonna ne beegaana, naye Peetero n’agamba nti, “Mukama waffe, ekibiina ky’abantu kinene abakwetoolodde era abantu bangi bakunyigiriza.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.”
Naye Yesu n’addamu nti, “Waliwo ankutteko kubanga mpulidde ng’amaanyi ganvaamu.”
47 When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
Awo omukazi bwe yategeera ng’avumbuddwa, n’ajja ng’akankana n’agwa awo mu maaso ga Yesu, n’annyonnyola mu maaso g’abantu bonna ensonga kyeyavudde amukwatako, era nti n’obulwadde bwe bwawoneddewo!
48 He said to her, “Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
Yesu n’agamba omukazi nti, “Muwala wange, okukkiriza kwo kukuwonyezza. Genda mirembe.”
49 While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.”
Awo Yesu bwe yali ng’akyayogera omuntu n’atuuka ng’ava mu maka g’omukulu w’ekkuŋŋaaniro, n’agamba Yayiro nti, “Muwala wo afudde! Omuyigiriza toyongera kumuteganya.”
50 But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Do not be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”
Naye Yesu bwe yakiwulira n’amugamba nti, “Totya! Kkiriza bukkiriza, ajja kuba mulamu.”
51 When he came to the house, he did not allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.
Awo Yesu bwe yatuuka ku nnyumba ya Yayiro, n’atakkiriza bantu balala kuyingira naye mu nju wabula Peetero, ne Yokaana, ne Yakobo, ne kitaawe w’omwana, ne nnyina.
52 All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, “Do not weep. She is not dead, but sleeping.”
Mu kiseera ekyo abantu bonna baali bakaaba nga bakungubagira omwana oyo. Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Mulekeraawo okukaaba! Omuwala tafudde wabula yeebase bwebasi!”
53 They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.
Ne bamusekerera nnyo, kubanga bonna baali bamanyi ng’omuwala afudde.
54 But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, “Child, arise!”
Naye Yesu n’akwata omuwala eyali afudde ku mukono, n’akoowoola ng’agamba nti, “Mwana wange, golokoka!”
55 Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.
Amangwago n’aba mulamu, n’asituka n’ayimirira. Yesu n’abalagira bamuwe ekyokulya.
56 Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.
Bazadde b’omuwala ne beewuunya, naye Yesu n’abakuutira obutabuulirako muntu yenna ebibaddewo.
