Luke 23
1 The whole company of them rose up and brought him before Pilate.
੧ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਭਾ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਈ।
2 They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting the nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”
੨ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੀ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਮਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਸੀਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
3 Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered him, “So you say.”
੩ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈਂ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
4 Pilate said to the chief priests and the multitudes, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
੪ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ।
5 But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.”
੫ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਜੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗਲੀਲ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੜਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
6 But when Pilate heard Galilee mentioned, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
੬ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗਲੀਲੀ ਹੈ?”
7 When he found out that he was in Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem during those days.
੭ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਲੂਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਦੀ ਰਿਆਸਤ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪ ਉਨ੍ਹੀਂ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।
8 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things about him. He hoped to see some miracle done by him.
੮ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਸ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਵੇਖੇ।
9 He questioned him with many words, but he gave no answers.
੯ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੁੱਛੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
10 The chief priests and the scribes stood, vehemently accusing him.
੧੦ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਜੋਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ।
11 Herod with his soldiers humiliated him and mocked him. Dressing him in luxurious clothing, they sent him back to Pilate.
੧੧ਤਦ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਠੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਭੜਕੀਲੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਪਹਿਨਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
12 Herod and Pilate became friends with each other that very day, for before that they were enemies with each other.
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣੀ ਸੀ।
13 Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,
੧੩ਤਦ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ
14 and said to them, “You brought this man to me as one that perverts the people, and behold, having examined him before you, I found no basis for a charge against this man concerning those things of which you accuse him.
੧੪ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰਮਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
15 Neither has Herod, for I sent you to him, and see, nothing worthy of death has been done by him.
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
16 I will therefore chastise him and release him.”
੧੬ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਰੜੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
17 Now he had to release one prisoner to them at the feast.
੧੭(ਇਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ)
18 But they all cried out together, saying, “Away with this man! Release to us Barabbas!”—
੧੮ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਓ! ਅਤੇ ਬਰੱਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ!
19 one who was thrown into prison for a certain revolt in the city, and for murder.
੧੯ਜੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਸੇ ਫਸਾਦ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਖੂਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
20 Then Pilate spoke to them again, wanting to release Jesus,
੨੦ਤਦ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ।
21 but they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify him!”
੨੧ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲੇ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਤੇ ਚੜਾਓ! ਸਲੀਬ ਚੜਾਓ!
22 He said to them the third time, “Why? What evil has this man done? I have found no capital crime in him. I will therefore chastise him and release him.”
੨੨ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੀਸਰੀ ਵਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ, ਇਸ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ? ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਰੜੇ ਮਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
23 But they were urgent with loud voices, asking that he might be crucified. Their voices and the voices of the chief priests prevailed.
੨੩ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਲੀਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਾਰੀਆਂ ਪੈ ਗਈਆਂ।
24 Pilate decreed that what they asked for should be done.
੨੪ਤਦ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋਵੇ।
25 He released him who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus up to their will.
੨੫ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਫਸਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਖੂਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੈਦ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਸਨ, ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕੀਤਾ।
26 When they led him away, they grabbed one Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country, and laid the cross on him to carry it after Jesus.
੨੬ਜਦ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨਾਮਕ ਇੱਕ ਕੁਰੇਨੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਪਿੰਡੋਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੋਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਲੀਬ ਰੱਖੀ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੈ ਚੱਲੇ।
27 A great multitude of the people followed him, including women who also mourned and lamented him.
੨੭ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਗਈ ਨਾਲੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਿੱਟਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
28 But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
੨੮ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀਓ ਧੀਓ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਰੋਵੋ ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਰੋਵੋ।
29 For behold, the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’
੨੯ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਕਿ ਧੰਨ ਹਨ ਬਾਂਝ ਔਰਤਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੁੱਖਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਧੀਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁੰਘਾਇਆ।
30 Then they will begin to tell the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and tell the hills, ‘Cover us.’
੩੦ਤਦ ਉਹ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਓ! ਅਤੇ ਟਿੱਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਲਓ!
31 For if they do these things in the green tree, what will be done in the dry?”
੩੧ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਦ ਹਰੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਸੁੱਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?
32 There were also others, two criminals, led with him to be put to death.
੩੨ਹੋਰ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਲੀਬ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
33 When they came to the place that is called “The Skull”, they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.
੩੩ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਜੋ ਕਲਵਰੀ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਸਲੀਬ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੱਬੇ।
34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.
੩੪ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਗੁਣੇ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਵੰਡ ਲਏ।
35 The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”
੩੫ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਵੀ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਨਾਲ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ। ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇ!
36 The soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offering him vinegar,
੩੬ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਉਡਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
37 and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”
੩੭ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ!
38 An inscription was also written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
੩੮ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਸਲੀਬ ਉੱਤੇ “ਇਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ” ਲਿਖਤ ਵੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
39 One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, “If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!”
੩੯ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਟੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਭਲਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮਸੀਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ? ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਚਾ!
40 But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do not you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?
੪੦ਪਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਇਸੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰਦਾ?
41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.”
੪੧ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਭੋਗਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
42 He said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
੪੨ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਵੋ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਾ।
43 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
੪੩ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ।
44 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.
੪੪ਹੁਣ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੀਸਰੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
45 The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.
੪੫ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਕਲ ਦਾ ਪੜਦਾ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਚਕਾਰੋਂ ਫਟ ਗਿਆ।
46 Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” Having said this, he breathed his last.
੪੬ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੌਂਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ,” ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
47 When the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous man.”
੪੭ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਇਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੀ!
48 All the multitudes that came together to see this, when they saw the things that were done, returned home beating their chests.
੪੮ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਛਾਤੀਆਂ ਪਿੱਟਦੇ ਮੁੜੇ।
49 All his acquaintances and the women who followed with him from Galilee stood at a distance, watching these things.
੪੯ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗਲੀਲ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਈਆਂ ਸਨ, ਦੂਰ ਖਲੋ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਹਾਲ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
50 Behold, there was a man named Joseph, who was a member of the council, a good and righteous man
੫੦ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ, ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ, ਭਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਸੀ।
51 (he had not consented to their counsel and deed), from Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who was also waiting for God’s Kingdom.
੫੧ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਅਰਿਮਥੇਆ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।
52 This man went to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.
੫੨ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਮੰਗੀ।
53 He took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was cut in stone, where no one had ever been laid.
੫੩ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਹੀਨ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਪੇਟ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਕਬਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਪਿਆ।
54 It was the day of the Preparation, and the Sabbath was drawing near.
੫੪ਉਹ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਤ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ।
55 The women who had come with him out of Galilee followed after, and saw the tomb and how his body was laid.
੫੫ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗਲੀਲ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਈਆਂ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲੇ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
56 They returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
੫੬ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਸੁਗੰਧਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਤਰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਰਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ।
