Judges 2
1 The LORD’s angel came up from Gilgal to Bochim. He said, “I brought you out of Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore to give your fathers. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you.
Y el ángel de Jehová subió de Galgala a Boquim, y dijo: Yo os saqué de Egipto, y os metí en la tierra de la cual había jurado a vuestros padres; y dije: No invalidaré mi concierto con vosotros para siempre:
2 You shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land. You shall break down their altars.’ But you have not listened to my voice. Why have you done this?
Con tal que vosotros no hagáis alianza con los moradores de aquesta tierra, antes destruiréis sus altares: mas vosotros no habéis oído mi voz. ¿Por qué lo habéis hecho?
3 Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’”
Y yo también dije: No los echaré de delante de vosotros: y seros han por azote para vuestros costados, y sus dioses por tropezadero.
4 When the LORD’s angel spoke these words to all the children of Israel, the people lifted up their voice and wept.
Y como el ángel de Jehová habló estas palabras a todos los hijos de Israel, el pueblo lloró a alta voz.
5 They called the name of that place Bochim, and they sacrificed there to the LORD.
Y llamaron por nombre a aquel lugar Boquim: y sacrificáron allí a Jehová.
6 Now when Joshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel each went to his inheritance to possess the land.
Porque ya Josué había enviado el pueblo, y los hijos de Israel se habían ido cada uno a su herencia para poseerla.
7 The people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the LORD that he had worked for Israel.
Y el pueblo había servido a Jehová todo el tiempo de Josué, y todo el tiempo de los ancianos que vivieron largos días después de Josué: que habían visto todas las grandes obras de Jehová, que había hecho con Israel.
8 Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being one hundred ten years old.
Y murió Josué hijo de Nun, siervo de Jehová, siendo de ciento y diez años,
9 They buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath Heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash.
Y enterráronle en el término de su heredad en Tamnat-sare, en el monte de Efraím, al norte del monte de Gaas.
10 After all that generation were gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the LORD, nor the work which he had done for Israel.
Y toda aquella generación también fue recogida con sus padres: y levantóse después de ellos otra generación, que no conocían a Jehová, ni a la obra que él había hecho a Israel.
11 The children of Israel did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and served the Baals.
Y los hijos de Israel hicieron lo malo en ojos de Jehová, y sirvieron a los Baales.
12 They abandoned the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them; and they provoked the LORD to anger.
Y dejaron a Jehová el Dios de sus padres, que los había sacado de la tierra de Egipto, y fuéronse tras otros dioses, tras los dioses de los pueblos que estaban en sus al derredores, a los cuales adoraron, y provocaron a ira a Jehová.
13 They abandoned the LORD, and served Baal and the Ashtaroth.
Y dejaron a Jehová, y adoraron a Baal y a Astarot.
14 The LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.
Y el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Israel, el cual los entregó en manos de robadores, que los robaron: y los vendió en manos de sus enemigos, que estaban en sus al derredores: y nunca más pudieron parar delante de sus enemigos.
15 Wherever they went out, the LORD’s hand was against them for evil, as the LORD had spoken, and as the LORD had sworn to them; and they were very distressed.
Por donde quiera que salían, la mano de Jehová era contra ellos en mal, como había dicho Jehová: y como Jehová se lo había jurado, así los afligió en gran manera.
16 The LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them.
Mas Jehová despertó jueces, que los librasen de mano de los que los saqueaban:
17 Yet they did not listen to their judges; for they prostituted themselves to other gods, and bowed themselves down to them. They quickly turned away from the way in which their fathers walked, obeying the LORD’s commandments. They did not do so.
Mas tampoco oyeron a sus jueces, antes fornicaron tras dioses ajenos, a los cuales adoraron: y se apartaron presto del camino en que anduvieron sus padres obedeciendo a los mandamientos de Jehová: mas ellos no hicieron así.
18 When the LORD raised up judges for them, then the LORD was with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for it grieved the LORD because of their groaning by reason of those who oppressed them and troubled them.
Y cuando les despertaba Jehová jueces, Jehová era con el juez, y librábalos de mano de los enemigos todo el tiempo de aquel juez: porque Jehová se arrepentía por su gemido a causa de los que los oprimían y afligían.
19 But when the judge was dead, they turned back, and dealt more corruptly than their fathers in following other gods to serve them and to bow down to them. They did not cease what they were doing, or give up their stubborn ways.
Mas en muriendo el juez, ellos se tornaban, y se corrompían más que sus padres siguiendo dioses ajenos, sirviéndoles y encorvándose delante de ellos: y nada disminuían de sus obras, y de su camino duro.
20 The LORD’s anger burned against Israel; and he said, “Because this nation transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not listened to my voice,
Y la ira de Jehová se encendió contra Israel, y dijo: Pues que esta gente traspasa mi concierto que mandé a sus padres, y no obedecen mi voz;
21 I also will no longer drive out any of the nations that Joshua left when he died from before them;
Tampoco yo echaré más delante de ellos a nadie de aquestas gentes, que dejó Josué cuando murió:
22 that by them I may test Israel, to see if they will keep the LORD’s way to walk therein, as their fathers kept it, or not.”
Para que por ellas yo probase a Israel, si ellos guardarían el camino de Jehová, andando por él, como sus padres lo guardaron, o no.
23 So the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily. He did not deliver them into Joshua’s hand.
Por tanto, Jehová dejó aquellas gentes, y no las desarraigó luego, ni las entregó en mano de Josué.
