Judges 11
1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor. He was the son of a prostitute. Gilead became the father of Jephthah.
১সেই কালত গিলিয়দীয়া যিপ্তহ এজন শক্তিশালী যোদ্ধা আছিল; তেওঁৰ মাক এগৰাকী বেশ্যা আছিল আৰু তেওঁৰ পিতৃৰ নাম গিলিয়দ আছিল।
2 Gilead’s wife bore him sons. When his wife’s sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, “You will not inherit in our father’s house, for you are the son of another woman.”
২গিলিয়দৰ ভাৰ্যাই তেওঁলৈ আন কেইবাজনো পুত্রৰ জন্ম দিছিল। তেওঁৰ ভাৰ্যাৰ পুত্রসকল যেতিয়া ডাঙৰ হ’ল, তেওঁলোকে যিপ্তহক ঘৰৰ পৰা খেদি দি ক’লে, “তুমি আমাৰ পৰিয়ালৰ সম্পত্তিৰ কোনো অধিকাৰ নাপাবা; কিয়নো তুমি আন এগৰাকী মহিলাৰ সন্তান।”
3 Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob. Outlaws joined up with Jephthah, and they went out with him.
৩সেয়ে যিপ্তহ নিজৰ ভাইসকলৰ কাষৰ পৰা পলাই গৈ টোব দেশত বাস কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে। তাত কেইজনমান উদণ্ড লোকে আহি যিপ্তহেৰে সৈতে যোগ দিলে আৰু তেওঁৰ লগত চলা-ফুৰা কৰিলে।
4 After a while, the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
৪কিছু কালৰ পাছত অম্মোনীয়াসকলে ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে।
5 When the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah out of the land of Tob.
৫যেতিয়া অম্মোনীয়াসকলে ইস্ৰায়েলীসকলৰ সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰিছিল, তেতিয়া গিলিয়দৰ বৃদ্ধ নেতাসকলে যিপ্তহক টোব দেশৰ পৰা আনিবলৈ গ’ল।
6 They said to Jephthah, “Come and be our chief, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.”
৬তেওঁলোকে যিপ্তহক ক’লে, “আমি অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ লগত যুদ্ধ কৰিম, সেয়ে তুমি আহি আমাৰ সেনাপতি হোৱা।”
7 Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “Did not you hate me, and drive me out of my father’s house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?”
৭যিপ্তহে গিলিয়দৰ নেতাসকলক ক’লে, “তোমালোকেই ঘিণ কৰি পিতৃ-বংশৰ মাজৰ পৰা মোক খেদি দিছিলা। এতিয়া সঙ্কটত পৰি কিয় মোৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিছা?”
8 The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “Therefore we have turned again to you now, that you may go with us and fight with the children of Ammon. You will be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
৮গিলিয়দৰ বৃদ্ধ নেতাসকলে যিপ্তহক ক’লে, “সেই কাৰণেই আমি এতিয়া তোমাৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিছোঁ; তুমি আমাৰ লগত গৈ অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰা আৰু তুমিয়েই গিলিয়দনিবাসী সকলো লোকৰ ওপৰত নেতা হবা।”
9 Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “If you bring me home again to fight with the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivers them before me, will I be your head?”
৯তেতিয়া যিপ্তহে গিলিয়দৰ বৃদ্ধসকলক ক’লে, “আপোনালোকে যদি অম্মোনৰ সৈন্যবোৰৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ মোক ঘৰলৈ পুনৰ ওলোটাই নিয়ে আৰু যিহোৱায়ো যদি তেওঁলোকৰ ওপৰত আমাক বিজয়ী কৰে, তেন্তে মইয়ে আপোনালোকৰ নেতা হ’ম।”
10 The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “The LORD will be witness between us. Surely we will do what you say.”
১০গিলিয়দৰ বৃদ্ধসকলে ক’লে, “আমি যদি আমাৰ কথামতে কাম নকৰোঁ, তেন্তে যিহোৱা আমাৰ মাজত সাক্ষী হৈ থাকক!”
11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them. Jephthah spoke all his words before the LORD in Mizpah.
১১তেতিয়া যিপ্তহ গিলিয়দৰ বৃদ্ধ নেতাসকলৰ সৈতে গ’ল আৰু লোক সকলে তেওঁকে তেওঁলোকৰ নেতা আৰু সেনাপতি পাতিলে; তাৰ পাছত যিপ্তহে মিস্পাত গৈ যিহোৱাৰ সন্মুখত তেওঁৰ প্রতিজ্ঞাবোৰৰ কথা জনালে।
12 Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the children of Ammon, saying, “What do you have to do with me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?”
১২তাৰ পাছত যিপ্তহে মানুহ পঠাই অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ ৰজালৈ এই কথা সুধিলে, “আপোনাৰ আৰু আমাৰ মাজত কি সমস্যা হৈছে? কিয় আমাৰ দেশৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ আহিছে?”
13 The king of the children of Ammon answered the messengers of Jephthah, “Because Israel took away my land when he came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and to the Jordan. Now therefore restore that territory again peaceably.”
১৩অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ ৰজাই যিপ্তহে পঠোৱা লোকসকলক কৈ পঠালে, “ইস্ৰায়েলীয়াসকলে মিচৰ দেশৰ পৰা বাহিৰ হৈ আহি অৰ্ণোন নদীৰ পৰা যব্বোকলৈ আৰু যৰ্দ্দনলৈকে মোৰ মাটি কাঢ়ি ল’লে; গতিকে এতিয়া অশান্তি নকৰাকৈ তাক ওলোটাই দিয়ক।”
14 Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the children of Ammon;
১৪পুনৰ যিপ্তহে অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ ৰজাৰ ওচৰলৈ লোক পঠালে।
15 and he said to him, “Jephthah says: Israel did not take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon;
১৫তেওঁ এই বাৰ্তা দিলে, যিপ্তহে কৈছে: ইস্রায়েলে মোৱাব আৰু অম্মোনৰ লোকসকলৰ মাটি কাঢ়ি লোৱা নাছিল।
16 but when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea, and came to Kadesh,
১৬কিন্তু মিচৰ দেশৰ পৰা ওলাই অহাৰ পাছত ইস্ৰায়েলী লোকসকলে মৰুপ্রান্তৰৰ মাজেদি ভ্ৰমণ কৰি চূফ সাগৰলৈকে গৈছিল আৰু তাৰ পাছতে কাদেচলৈ গৈছিল।
17 then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, ‘Please let me pass through your land;’ but the king of Edom did not listen. In the same way, he sent to the king of Moab, but he refused; so Israel stayed in Kadesh.
১৭তাৰ পাছত ইস্ৰায়েলী লোকসকলে ইদোমৰ ৰজাৰ ওচৰলৈ লোক পঠিয়াই বিনয় কৰি কৈছিল, ‘আপোনালোকৰ ভূমিৰ মাজেদি আমাক যাবলৈ অনুমতি দিয়ক।’ কিন্তু ইদোমৰ ৰজাই সেই কথা নুশুনিলে। পাছত তেওঁলোকে মোৱাবৰ ৰজাৰ ওচৰলৈকো লোক পঠিয়াইছিল, কিন্তু তেৱোঁ সন্মত নহ’ল। সেয়ে ইস্ৰায়েলী লোকসকল কাদেচতে থাকিল।
18 Then they went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and they encamped on the other side of the Arnon; but they did not come within the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.
১৮তাৰ পাছত তেওঁলোকে মৰুপ্রান্তৰৰ মাজেদি গৈ ইদোম আৰু মোৱাব দেশৰ পৰা ঘূৰি মোৱাব দেশৰ পূৱ ফালেদি আহি অৰ্ণোন নদীৰ সিপাৰে ছাউনি পাতিলে; তেওঁলোকে মোৱাবৰ সীমাৰ ভিতৰত নোসোমাল, কিয়নো অৰ্ণোন নদী মোৱাবৰ সীমা আছিল।
19 Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said to him, ‘Please let us pass through your land to my place.’
১৯তাৰ পাছত ইস্ৰায়েলী লোকসকলে ইমোৰীয়াসকলৰ ৰজা চীহোন, যিজনে হিচবোনত ৰাজত্ব কৰিছিল, তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ মানুহ পঠিয়াই ক’লে “অনুগ্রহ কৰি আপোনালোকৰ দেশৰ মাজেদি আমাক আমি যাব লগা ঠাইলৈ যাব দিয়ক।”
20 But Sihon did not trust Israel to pass through his border; but Sihon gathered all his people together, and encamped in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
২০কিন্তু চীহোনেও তেওঁলোকক বিশ্বাস নকৰিলে আৰু নিজৰ অঞ্চলৰ মাজেদি যোৱাৰ অনুমতি নিদিলে। তেওঁ নিজৰ সৈন্যসকলক গোট খুৱাই যহচত ছাউনি পাতিলে আৰু তাত ইস্ৰায়েলী লোকসকলৰ সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰিলে।
21 The LORD, the God of Israel, delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they struck them. So Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.
২১তেতিয়া ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই চীহোন আৰু তেওঁৰ সকলো লোকক ইস্রায়েলী লোকসকলৰ হাতত তুলি দি তেওঁলোকৰ অধীন কৰিলে। এইদৰে ইস্ৰায়েলে সেই দেশত নিবাস কৰা ইমোৰীয়াসকলৰ গোটেই দেশ অধিকাৰ কৰিলে।
22 They possessed all the border of the Amorites, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and from the wilderness even to the Jordan.
২২তেওঁলোকে অৰ্ণোনৰ পৰা যব্বোক পর্যন্ত আৰু মৰুপ্রান্তৰ পৰা যৰ্দ্দনলৈকে ইমোৰীয়াসকলৰ সীমাৰ ভিতৰৰ সমগ্র অঞ্চল অধিকাৰ কৰিলে।
23 So now the LORD, the God of Israel, has dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and should you possess them?
২৩এইদৰে ইস্ৰায়েল জাতিৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই যেতিয়া নিজে ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্মুখত ইমোৰীয়াসকলক খেদাই পঠালে, তেন্তে এতিয়া সেই লোকসকলৰ ভূমি জানো আপুনি অধিকাৰ কৰা উচিত?
24 Will not you possess that which Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whoever the LORD our God has dispossessed from before us, them will we possess.
২৪আপোনাৰ কমোচ দেৱতাই আপোনাক যি ভূমিৰ অধিকাৰ দিছে, আপুনি জানো তাক অধিকাৰ নকৰিব? ঠিক সেইদৰে আমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই যি ঠাইৰ অধিকাৰ আমাক দিছে, আমি সেই ঠাইকে অধিকাৰ কৰিম।
25 Now are you anything better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them?
২৫এতিয়া আপুনি কি মোৱাবৰ ৰজা চিপ্পোৰৰ পুতেক বালাকতকৈও উত্তম? তেওঁ ইস্ৰায়েলৰ অহিতে বিবাদ কৰিবলৈ জানো সাহস কৰিছিল? তেওঁলোকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে তেওঁ জানো কেতিয়াবা যুদ্ধ কৰিছিল?
26 Israel lived in Heshbon and its towns, and in Aroer and its towns, and in all the cities that are along the side of the Arnon for three hundred years! Why did not you recover them within that time?
২৬তিনিশ বছৰ কাল ইস্রায়েলী লোকসকলে হিচবোন আৰু অৰোয়েৰ চহৰত, তাৰ গাওঁবোৰত আৰু অৰ্ণোনৰ নদীৰ পাৰৰ ওচৰত থকা সকলো চহৰত বাস কৰিছিল; সেই সময়তে আপোনালোকে কিয় সেইবোৰ ঠাই দখল কৰি নললে?
27 Therefore I have not sinned against you, but you do me wrong to war against me. May the LORD the Judge be judge today between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.”
২৭এই বিষয়ত মই আপোনাৰ প্রতি কোনো অন্যায় কৰা নাই; বৰং মোৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰি আপুনিহে মোলৈ অন্যায় কৰিছে; বিচাৰকৰ্ত্তা যিহোৱায়ে এতিয়া ইস্ৰায়েলীয়া আৰু অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ মাজত বিচাৰ কৰক’।
28 However, the king of the children of Ammon did not listen to the words of Jephthah which he sent him.
২৮তথাপি যিপ্তহে কৈ পঠোৱা এই সকলো বার্তাক অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ ৰজাই অগ্রাহ্য কৰিলে।
29 Then the LORD’s Spirit came on Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he passed over to the children of Ammon.
২৯তেতিয়া যিহোৱাৰ আত্মা যিপ্তহৰ ওপৰত আছিল। তাতে তেওঁ গিলিয়দ আৰু মনচিৰ মাজেদি গৈ গিলিয়দৰ মিস্পালৈ আহিল আৰু তাৰ পৰা অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ ওচৰলৈ গ’ল।
30 Jephthah vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, “If you will indeed deliver the children of Ammon into my hand,
৩০যিপ্তহে যিহোৱাৰ ওচৰত সঙ্কল্প কৰি ক’লে, “তুমি যদি মোক অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ বিৰুদ্ধে বিজয়ী কৰোঁৱা,
31 then it shall be, that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, it shall be the LORD’s, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.”
৩১তেন্তে অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ সৈতে যুদ্ধত জয়লাভ কৰি ঘূৰি যোৱাৰ সময়ত মোক আগবঢ়াই নিবৰ কাৰণে যেয়ে দুৱাৰ মেলি ঘৰৰ বাহিৰলৈ আহিব, সেয়ে যিহোৱাৰ হ’ব আৰু মই তাক হোমবলিৰূপে উৎসৰ্গ কৰিম।”
32 So Jephthah passed over to the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hand.
৩২তাৰ পাছত যিপ্তহে অম্মোনিয়াসকলৰ লগত যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ মিস্পাৰ পৰা গ’ল আৰু যিহোৱাই তেওঁৰ হাতত অম্মোনিয়াসকলক তুলি দিলে।
33 He struck them from Aroer until you come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and to Abelcheramim, with a very great slaughter. So the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.
৩৩তেওঁ অৰোয়েৰৰ পৰা মিন্নীতৰ ওচৰত নগৰবোৰত আক্রমণ কৰি হত্যা কৰিলে আৰু আবেল-কৰামীমলৈকে বিশখন নগৰ জয় কৰিলে। এইদৰে অম্মোনীয়াসকলক ইস্ৰায়েলৰ অধীন কৰা হ’ল।
34 Jephthah came to Mizpah to his house; and behold, his daughter came out to meet him with tambourines and with dances. She was his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter.
৩৪যিপ্তহে যেতিয়া মিস্পাত নিজৰ ঘৰলৈ উলটি আহিল, তেতিয়া তেওঁক আগবঢ়াই নিবলৈ তেওঁৰ জীয়েক ওলাই আহিল। তাই খঞ্জৰী বজাই তালে তালে নাচি নাচি ওলাই আহিল; তাই যিপ্তহৰ একেজনী মাথোন জীয়েক আছিল আৰু তাইৰ বাহিৰে তেওঁৰ কোনো পুতেক বা জীয়েক নাছিল।
35 When he saw her, he tore his clothes, and said, “Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you are one of those who trouble me; for I have opened my mouth to the LORD, and I cannot go back.”
৩৫যিপ্তহে নিজৰ জীয়েকক দেখা পোৱা মাত্ৰে নিজৰ কাপোৰ ফালি ক’লে, “হায়, মোৰ মাজনী! তুমি মোলৈ এয়া কি সর্বনাশ কৰিলা! তুমি যে মোক অতিশয় বেজাৰ দিলা! কিয়নো মই যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে যি শপত খালো, মই তাৰ পৰা ঘূৰিব নোৱাৰোঁ।”
36 She said to him, “My father, you have opened your mouth to the LORD; do to me according to that which has proceeded out of your mouth, because the LORD has taken vengeance for you on your enemies, even on the children of Ammon.”
৩৬তাই বাপেকক ক’লে, “পিতা, তুমি যিহোৱাক কথা দিলা, সেয়ে তোমাৰ কথা অনুসাৰে মোৰ প্রতি সকলো কৰা। কিয়নো যিহোৱাই তোমাৰ শত্ৰু অম্মোনীয়াসকলৰ ওপৰত তোমাৰ হৈ প্ৰতিকাৰ সাধিলে।”
37 Then she said to her father, “Let this thing be done for me. Leave me alone two months, that I may depart and go down on the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my companions.”
৩৭তাৰ পাছত তাই ক’লে, “মোৰ বাবে এটা অনুৰোধ ৰাখক। মোক দুমাহৰ বাবে অকলে থাকিবলৈ দিয়ক; মোক পাহাৰে পাহাৰে ঘূৰি মোৰ কুমাৰীত্বৰ অৰ্থে সখীবোৰেৰে সৈতে বিলাপ কৰিবলৈ দিয়ক।”
38 He said, “Go.” He sent her away for two months; and she departed, she and her companions, and mourned her virginity on the mountains.
৩৮যিপ্তহে ক’লে, “যোৱা।” এইবুলি তেওঁ তাইক দুমাহলৈ বিদায় দিলে; তেতিয়া তাই নিজ সখীসকলৰ সৈতে গৈ পাহাৰবোৰৰ ওপৰত নিজ কুমাৰীত্বৰ অৰ্থে বিলাপ কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে।
39 At the end of two months, she returned to her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed. She was a virgin. It became a custom in Israel
৩৯দুমাহৰ মূৰত তাই বাপেকৰ ওচৰলৈ উলটি আহিল; তাইৰ বাপেকে নিজে কৰা সঙ্কল্পৰ দৰে তাইলৈ কৰিলে; তাই কেতিয়াও কোনো পুৰুষৰ সৈতে সম্বন্ধ নকৰিলে। এই ঘটনাৰ পৰা ইস্ৰায়েলৰ মাজত এটা ৰীতি প্ৰচলিত হ’বলৈ ধৰিলে।
40 that the daughters of Israel went yearly to celebrate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in a year.
৪০ইস্ৰায়েলীয়া যুৱতীসকলে প্রত্যেক বছৰে চাৰি দিনৰ বাবে গিলিয়দীয়া যিপ্তহৰ জীয়েকৰ কথা কৈ বিলাপ কৰে।
