Jeremiah 43
1 When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of the LORD their God, with which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
耶肋米亞向全體人民說完上主他們的天主的一切話，即上主他們的天主派遣他來向他們轉告的這一切話以後，
2 then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah, “You speak falsely. The LORD our God has not sent you to say, ‘You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’
瑪阿色雅的兒子阿匝黎雅和卡勒亞的兒子約哈南，以及一切傲慢反叛的人，就肋米亞說：「你說謊；上主我們的天主並沒有派你說：你們不要去寄居埃及；
3 but Baruch the son of Neriah has turned you against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death or carry us away captive to Babylon.”
只是乃黎雅的兒子巴路克挑唆你反對我們，好將我交在加色丁人手中，或殺或擄到巴比倫去。」
4 So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the LORD’s voice, to dwell in the land of Judah.
卡勒亞的兒子約哈南和眾部隊首領以及全體人民，沒有聽從上主的勸告，住在猶大地內。
5 But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces took all the remnant of Judah, who had returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah—
卡勒亞的兒子約哈南和眾部隊首領，反而率領全體猶大遣民，即那些四到各民族間，又回來住在猶大境內的人：
6 the men, the women, the children, the king’s daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.
男子和婦女，幼童和王家閨秀，以及衛隊長乃步匝辣當給沙番的孫子，阿希甘的兒子留下的人，連同先知耶肋米亞和乃黎雅的兒子巴路克，
7 They came into the land of Egypt, for they did not obey the LORD’s voice; and they came to Tahpanhes.
到埃及地去了；沒有聽從上主的勸告，而來到塔黑培乃斯。
8 Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
在塔黑培乃斯上主有話傳給耶肋米亞說：「
9 “Take great stones in your hand and hide them in mortar in the brick work which is at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah.
你用手拿一些大石頭，當著猶大人眼前，藏在塔黑培乃斯法郎王宮前石鋪地道下面，
10 Tell them, the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.
然後對他們說：萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：看，我必派人去領我的僕人巴比倫王拿步高來，在你藏的這些石頭上安置他的寶座，張設他的華蓋。
11 He will come, and will strike the land of Egypt; such as are for death will be put to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword.
他必來攻打埃及地，叫那該死的死，該擄的擄，該殺的殺；
12 I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt. He will burn them, and carry them away captive. He will array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he will go out from there in peace.
必來放火焚燒埃及的神廟，燒毀或擄走廟內的神像；必來收取埃及地，如同牧人收取自己的外衣；最後安然離去。
13 He will also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh that is in the land of Egypt; and he will burn the houses of the gods of Egypt with fire.’”
此外他還要粉碎埃及地太陽神廟的石柱，放火焚燒埃及的神廟。」
