Jeremiah 26
1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came from the LORD:
ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನ ದೊರೆತನದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
2 “The LORD says: ‘Stand in the court of the LORD’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah which come to worship in the LORD’s house, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Do not omit a word.
“ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ: ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆಲಯದ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳು. ಒಂದು ಮಾತಾದರೂ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
3 It may be they will listen, and every man turn from his evil way, that I may relent from the evil which I intend to do to them because of the evil of their doings.’”
ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿ, ನಾನು ಅವರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದ ಕೇಡಿನ ವಿಷಯ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪ ಪಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡಾರು.
4 You shall tell them, “The LORD says: ‘If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law which I have set before you,
ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ನನ್ನ ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ,
5 to listen to the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you, even rising up early and sending them—but you have not listened—
ಹಾಗು ನೀವು ಕೇಳದಿದ್ದರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಪದೇಪದೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ದಾಸರಾದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಲಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರೆ,
6 then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.’”
ಆಗ ನಾನು ಈ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಶೀಲೋವಿನ ಗತಿಗೆ ಇಳಿಸುವೆನು. ಈ ನಗರವು ವಿಶ್ವದ ಜನರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತ ನಗರವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.’”
7 The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the LORD’s house.
ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರುವುದನ್ನು ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ, ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
8 When Jeremiah had finished speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, “You shall surely die!
ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ತಾನು ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿ ತೀರಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ, ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, “ನೀನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಬೇಕು.
9 Why have you prophesied in the LORD’s name, saying, ‘This house will be like Shiloh, and this city will be desolate, without inhabitant’?” All the people were crowded around Jeremiah in the LORD’s house.
ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಶೀಲೋವಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗುವುದೆಂದೂ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವೂ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಾಳಾಗುವುದೆಂದೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕೆ ನೀನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದ್ದೀ?” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
10 When the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to the LORD’s house; and they sat in the entry of the new gate of the LORD’s house.
ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅರಸನ ಅರಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದ ಹೊಸ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಪ್ರವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು.
11 Then the priests and the prophets spoke to the princes and to all the people, saying, “This man is worthy of death, for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.”
ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ, “ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕವನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಇವನು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
12 Then Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying, “The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.
ಆಗ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಪ್ರಧಾನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ: “ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
13 Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and obey the LORD your God’s voice; then the LORD will relent from the evil that he has pronounced against you.
ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಿದ್ದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿರಿ. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕೇಡಿನ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
14 But as for me, behold, I am in your hand. Do with me what is good and right in your eyes.
ನಾನಾದರೋ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಿಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗಿಯೂ, ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ತೋರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ.
15 Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, on this city, and on its inhabitants; for in truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.”
ಆದರೂ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಅದರ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರೆಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
16 Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets: “This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.”
ಆಗ ಪ್ರಧಾನರೂ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯಾಜಕರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಗೂ, “ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕವನಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
17 Then certain of the elders of the land rose up, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,
ದೇಶದ ಹಿರಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಎದ್ದು ಜನರ ಕೂಟಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ:
18 “Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘The LORD of Armies says: “‘Zion will be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.’
“ಮೊರೇಷೆತಿನವನಾದ ಮೀಕಾಯನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಜನರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ‘ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: “‘ಚೀಯೋನನ್ನು ಹೊಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ಉಳಲಾಗುವುದು; ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮು ಹಾಳುದಿಬ್ಬಗಳಾಗುವುದು; ಆಲಯದ ಬೆಟ್ಟವೂ ಕಾಡುಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಂತಾಗುವುದು.’
19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Did not he fear the LORD, and entreat the favor of the LORD, and the LORD relented of the disaster which he had pronounced against them? We would commit great evil against our own souls that way!”
ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದರೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟನಲ್ಲವೋ? ಆಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕೇಡಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪ ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು!” ಎಂದರು.
20 There was also a man who prophesied in the LORD’s name, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
ಕಿರ್ಯತ್ ಯಾರೀಮಿನವನಾದ ಶೆಮಾಯನ ಮಗ ಊರೀಯ ಎಂಬುವವನು ಸಹ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಾಗಿ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೂ, ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದನು.
21 When Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men and all the princes heard his words, the king sought to put him to death; but when Uriah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.
ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನೂ, ಅವನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ, ಪ್ರಧಾನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅರಸನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಊರೀಯನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ, ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡನು.
22 Then Jehoiakim the king sent Elnathan the son of Achbor and certain men with him into Egypt.
ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ಜನರನ್ನು, ಅಕ್ಬೋರನ ಮಗ ಎಲ್ನಾಥಾನನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನೂ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
23 They fetched Uriah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
ಅವರು ಊರೀಯನನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದರು. ಇವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು, ಅವನ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಾರಣವಾದ ಜನರ ಸಮಾಧಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿದನು.
24 But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that they did not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
ಇತ್ತ ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನನ್ನು ಜನರ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಿ, ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಸಹಾಯ ದೊರಕಿತ್ತು.
