Isaiah 55
1 “Hey! Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Voi, toţi cei însetaţi, veniţi la ape, şi cel ce nu are bani, veniţi, cumpăraţi şi mâncaţi; da, veniţi, cumpăraţi vin şi lapte fără bani şi fără preţ.
2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness.
Pentru ce cheltuiţi bani pentru ce nu este pâine? Şi osteneala voastră pentru ceea ce nu satură? Daţi-mi atent ascultare şi mâncaţi ceea ce este bun şi să se desfete sufletul vostru în grăsime.
3 Turn your ear, and come to me. Hear, and your soul will live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Plecaţi-vă urechile şi veniţi la mine, ascultaţi şi sufletul vostru va trăi; iar eu voi face un legământ veşnic cu voi, conform îndurărilor sigure ale lui David.
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.
Iată, l-am dat ca martor poporului, un conducător şi comandant poporului.
5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know; and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you.”
Iată, vei chema o naţiune pe care nu o cunoşti, şi naţiuni care nu te-au cunoscut vor alerga la tine datorită DOMNULUI Dumnezeului tău şi pentru Cel Sfânt al lui Israel, căci el te-a glorificat.
6 Seek the LORD while he may be found. Call on him while he is near.
Căutaţi pe DOMNUL cât mai poate fi găsit, chemaţi-l cât mai este aproape;
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Să îşi părăsească cel stricat calea şi omul nedrept gândurile lui, şi să se întoarcă la DOMNUL, iar el va avea milă de el; şi la Dumnezeul nostru, căci el îşi înmulţeşte iertarea.
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says the LORD.
Fiindcă gândurile mele nu sunt gândurile tale, nici căile tale nu sunt căile mele, spune DOMNUL.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Căci aşa [cum] cerurile sunt mai sus decât pământul, tot așa căile mele sunt mai înalte decât căile voastre şi gândurile mele decât gândurile voastre.
10 For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and does not return there, but waters the earth, and makes it grow and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
Căci aşa cum coboară ploaia şi zăpada din cer şi nu se întoarce acolo, ci udă pământul şi îl face să încolţească şi să înmugurească, pentru a da sămânţă semănătorului şi pâine celui ce mănâncă,
11 so is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do.
Tot așa va fi cuvântul meu care iese din gura mea, nu se va întoarce la mine gol, ci va împlini ceea ce îmi place şi va prospera în lucrul la care l-am trimis.
12 For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace. The mountains and the hills will break out before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields will clap their hands.
Fiindcă veţi ieşi cu bucurie şi veţi fi conduşi cu pace, munţii şi dealurile vor izbucni înaintea voastră în cântare şi toţi copacii câmpului vor bate din palme.
13 Instead of the thorn the cypress tree will come up; and instead of the brier the myrtle tree will come up. It will make a name for the LORD, for an everlasting sign that will not be cut off.”
În loc de spin va răsări bradul şi în loc de mărăcine va răsări pomul de mirt şi va fi DOMNULUI ca nume, ca un semn veşnic care nu va fi stârpit.
