< Isaiah 5 >
1 Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.
Aga m abụ abụ nye onye m hụrụ nʼanya, abụ banyere ubi vaịnị ya. Onye m hụrụ nʼanya nwere ubi ya nʼelu ugwu nta nke bụ ezi ala.
2 He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in the middle of it, and also cut out a wine press in it. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.
O gwuzere ya, wepụsịa okwute niile dị nʼime ya, werekwa mkpụrụ vaịnị mara mma kụọ nʼime ya. O wuru ụlọ nche nʼetiti ya, sitekwa na nkume wapụtakwa ebe ịzọcha mmanya. Emesịa, ọ nọdụrụ chere oge owuwe ihe ubi. Mgbe oge ahụ ruru, ọ chọpụtara na nʼọnọdụ mkpụrụ vaịnị mara mma, ọ bụ ndị jọrọ njọ mịrị.
3 “Now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.
“Ugbu a, ndị ikom Jerusalem na Juda, unu anụla ihe mere. Kpebienụ ikpe a dị nʼetiti mụ na ubi vaịnị m.
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?
Olee ihe ọzọ m gaara emere ya karịa ihe m mere? Gịnị mere ubi vaịnị m ji mịara m mkpụrụ jọrọ njọ nʼọnọdụ mkpụrụ na-atọ ụtọ?
5 Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.
Ugbu a, lee, ihe m na-aga ime ubi vaịnị m a. Aga m ewepụ ihe mgbochi a gbara ya, hapụ ya ka ọ ghọọ ebe anụ ụlọ na-ata nri. Aga m etida mgbidi ya hapụ ya ka ọ bụrụ ebe a na-azọtọ ụkwụ.
6 I will lay it a wasteland. It will not be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression, for righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.
Ubi vaịnị nke Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ mba Izrel na ndị Juda, ha bụ vaịnị ahụ nke nʼatọ obi ya ụtọ. Ma o lere anya ikpe ziri ezi, ma ihe ọ hụrụ bụ iwusi ọbara. O lere anya ezi omume, ma ihe ọ nụrụ bụ mkpu akwa ndị a na-emegbu emegbu.
8 Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the middle of the land!
Ahụhụ dịrị unu ndị na-azụkọta ala ma ndị ọzọ ahụghị ebe ha ga-ebi, unu ndị na-ewu ụlọ na-ewukwasị ụlọ nʼala buru ibu, ime ka ọ bụrụ naanị unu bi nʼụwa.
9 In my ears, the LORD of Armies says: “Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and beautiful, unoccupied.
Ma Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ekwuola ihe banyere unu, na ọnọdụ unu. Eji m ntị m abụọ nụ mgbe ọ na-asị, “Nʼezie, ọtụtụ ụlọ mara mma ga-atọgbọrọ nʼefu, ụlọ ukwu mara mma ndị nwe ha agaghị anọkwa.
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield an ephah.”
Ubi vaịnị ahụ a ga-eji ehi abụọ kọọ ụbọchị iri ga-ewepụta naanị ihe nwere ike iru galọọnụ mmanya isii, ma ọka a kọrọ, nke ruru akpa ọka atọ ga-amịpụta ihe ruru otu akpa nʼọkara.”
11 Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!
Ahụhụ ga-adịrị unu niile ndị na-ebili nʼisi ụtụtụ ịgbaso mmanya. Ndị na-amụgide anya abalị tutu ruo mgbe ha ṅụbigara mmanya oke.
12 The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they do not respect the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.
Unu na-eji ụbọ akwara dị iche iche na une, na ihe iti egwu na opi, na mmanya na-eme onwe unu obi ụtọ nʼoge mmemme oriri unu, ma unu na-elelị Onyenwe anyị anya; unu adịghịkwa asọpụrụ akaọrụ ya.
13 Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.
Nʼihi ya, ndị m ga-eje biri na mba ọzọ, nʼihi amaghị ihe; ndị ọkwa ha dị elu ga-anwụ nʼihi agụụ, ndị mmadụ efu ga-abụ ndị akpịrị ga-akpọ nkụ nʼihi agụụ mmiri.
14 Therefore Sheol (Sheol ) has enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, their multitude, their pomp, and he who rejoices among them, descend into it.
Nʼihi ya, ala mmụọ na-eme ka ọchịchọ ya saa mbara, ọ na-asaghebigakwa ọnụ ya oke; ndị ukwu na ndị nta bi nʼime ala a ka ọ ga-elo, tinyere ndị na-emebiga mkpọtụ oke, na ndị na-egwuribiga egwu ọṅụ oke. (Sheol )
15 So man is brought low, mankind is humbled, and the eyes of the arrogant ones are humbled;
Nʼụbọchị ahụ, a ga-eweda nʼala ndị dị elu, na ndị dị ala, ndị mpako ka a ga-eweda nʼala.
16 but the LORD of Armies is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
Ma Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, nwee ọnọdụ dịkarịsịrị elu, nʼihi ikpe ikpe ziri ezi ya, Chineke onye dị nsọ na-egosikwa onwe ya na ọ dị nsọ site nʼezi omume ya.
17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and strangers will eat the ruins of the rich.
Mgbe ahụ, ụmụ atụrụ ga-akpa nri ha dị ka ọ bụ nʼọzara ka ha nọ, ehi na anụ ụlọ ga-akpa nri ha nʼụlọ ndị ọgaranya niile e tikpọrọ etikpọ.
18 Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope,
Ahụhụ ga-adịrị ndị ji aghụghọ na-adọkpụgharị mmehie ha; ahụhụ dịkwara ndị na-adọkpụgharị ajọ omume ha dịka ụdọ eji adọkpụgharị ụgbọala.
19 who say, “Let him make haste, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!”
Nye ndị ahụ na-asị “Ka Chineke mee ngwa; ya rụọ ọrụ ya ọsịịsọ, ka anyị hụ ya. Atụmatụ nke Onye nsọ nke Izrel, ka ọ bịaruo nso, ka ọ pụta ìhè, ka anyị nwe ike mara ihe o zubere.”
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Ahụhụ dịrị ndị na-akpọ ihe ọjọọ ezi ihe ndị na-akpọkwa ezi ihe ihe ọjọọ, ndị na-etinye ọchịchịrị nʼọnọdụ ìhè na ìhè nʼọnọdụ ọchịchịrị ndị na-etinye ihe dị ilu nʼọnọdụ ihe ụtọ, na ihe ụtọ nʼọnọdụ ihe ilu.
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
Ahụhụ ga-adịrị ndị maara ihe nʼanya nke onwe ha, ndị na-elekwa onwe ha anya na ha bụ ndị nwere nghọta.
22 Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink;
Ahụhụ ga-adịrị ndị bụ dike nʼịṅụ mmanya, na ndị bụkwa dimkpa nʼịgwakọta mmanya,
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!
ndị na-asị onye ikpe maara nʼikpe amaghị ya nʼihi ịnata ngarị, ma wezuga ikpe ziri ezi site nʼebe onye aka ya dị ọcha nọ.
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of the LORD of Armies, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Nʼihi ya, dịka ire ọkụ si erechapụ ahịhịa ọka, na dịka ahịhịa kpọrọ nkụ si ada nʼime ọkụ na-enwu enwu, otu a ka mgbọrọgwụ ha ga-ere ure okoko ha ka ikuku ga-ebufu dịka uzuzu; nʼihi na ha ajụla iwu niile Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile nyere, lelịakwa okwu nke Onye nsọ Izrel.
25 Therefore the LORD’s anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.
26 He will lift up a banner to the nations from far away, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.
27 No one shall be weary nor stumble among them; no one shall slumber nor sleep, neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the strap of their sandals be broken,
Ọ dịghị onye na-ada mba, ọ dịkwaghị onye nʼasụ ngọngọ nʼime ha, ọ dịghị onye nʼatụ oru ụra maọbụ rahụ ụra, ọ dịghị ihe ike nʼukwu ha nke tọpụrụ atọpụ ọ dịghị ihe ikechi akpụkpọụkwụ nke dọbiri adọbi.
28 whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses’ hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.
Àkụ ha niile dị nkọ, ekweela ụta ha niile, ụkwụ ịnyịnya dị ka nkume ọkụ, ụkwụ ụgbọ agha ha dị ka oke ifufe.
29 Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.
Ha na-ebigbọ dịka ọdụm, ha na-ebigbọkwa dịka ụmụ ọdụm; ha na-asụ mgbe ha wụkwasịrị nʼelu ihe ndọgbu. Ha na-ejide ndị m, kpụrụ ha laa, ọ dịkwaghị onye nnapụta ha nwere.
30 They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.
