Hebrews 5
1 For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
ย: กศฺจิตฺ มหายาชโก ภวติ ส มานวานำ มธฺยาตฺ นีต: สนฺ มานวานำ กฺฤต อีศฺวโรทฺเทศฺยวิษเย'รฺถต อุปหาราณำ ปาปารฺถกพลีนาญฺจ ทาน นิยุชฺยเตฯ
2 The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also surrounded with weakness.
ส จาชฺญานำ ภฺรานฺตานาญฺจ โลกานำ ทุ: เขน ทุ: ขี ภวิตุํ ศกฺโนติ, ยโต เหโต: ส สฺวยมปิ เทารฺพฺพลฺยเวษฺฏิโต ภวติฯ
3 Because of this, he must offer sacrifices for sins for the people, as well as for himself.
เอตสฺมาตฺ การณาจฺจ ยทฺวตฺ โลกานำ กฺฤเต ตทฺวทฺ อาตฺมกฺฤเต'ปิ ปาปารฺถกพลิทานํ เตน กรฺตฺตวฺยํฯ
4 Nobody takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just like Aaron was.
ส โฆจฺจปท: เสฺวจฺฉาต: เกนาปิ น คฺฤหฺยเต กินฺตุ หาโรณ อิว ย อีศฺวเรณาหูยเต เตไนว คฺฤหฺยเตฯ
5 So also Christ did not glorify himself to be made a high priest, but it was he who said to him, “You are my Son. Today I have become your father.”
เอวมฺปฺรกาเรณ ขฺรีษฺโฏ'ปิ มหายาชกตฺวํ คฺรหีตุํ สฺวียเคารวํ สฺวยํ น กฺฤตวานฺ, กินฺตุ "มทียตนโย'สิ ตฺวมฺ อไทฺยว ชนิโต มเยติ" วาจํ ยสฺตํ ภาษิตวานฺ ส เอว ตสฺย เคารวํ กฺฤตวานฺฯ
6 As he says also in another place, "You are a priest for the age (aiōn g165), after the order of Melchizedek."
ตทฺวทฺ อนฺยคีเต'ปีทมุกฺตํ, ตฺวํ มลฺกีเษทก: เศฺรณฺยำ ยาชโก'สิ สทาตน: ฯ (aiōn g165)
7 He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
ส จ เทหวาสกาเล พหุกฺรนฺทเนนาศฺรุปาเตน จ มฺฤตฺยุต อุทฺธรเณ สมรฺถสฺย ปิตุ: สมีเป ปุน: ปุนรฺวินตึ ปฺรรฺถนาญฺจ กฺฤตฺวา ตตฺผลรูปิณีํ ศงฺกาโต รกฺษำ ปฺราปฺย จ
8 though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered.
ยทฺยปิ ปุโตฺร'ภวตฺ ตถาปิ ไยรกฺลิศฺยต ไตราชฺญาคฺรหณมฺ อศิกฺษตฯ
9 Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of consummate (aiōnios g166) salvation,
อิตฺถํ สิทฺธีภูย นิชาชฺญาคฺราหิณำ สรฺเวฺวษามฺ อนนฺตปริตฺราณสฺย การณสฺวรูโป 'ภวตฺฯ (aiōnios g166)
10 named by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
ตสฺมาตฺ ส มลฺกีเษทก: เศฺรณีภุกฺโต มหายาชก อีศฺวเรณาขฺยาต: ฯ
11 About him we have many words to say, and hard to interpret, seeing you have become dull of hearing.
ตมธฺยสฺมากํ พหุกถา: กถยิตวฺยา: กินฺตุ ตา: สฺตพฺธกรฺไณ รฺยุษฺมาภิ รฺทุรฺคมฺยา: ฯ
12 For although by this time you should be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the revelations of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food.
ยโต ยูยํ ยทฺยปิ สมยสฺย ทีรฺฆตฺวาตฺ ศิกฺษกา ภวิตุมฺ อศกฺษฺยต ตถาปีศฺวรสฺย วากฺยานำ ยา ปฺรถมา วรฺณมาลา ตามธิ ศิกฺษาปฺราปฺติ รฺยุษฺมากํ ปุนราวศฺยกา ภวติ, ตถา กฐินทฺรเวฺย นหิ กินฺตุ ทุคฺเธ ยุษฺมากํ ปฺรโยชนมฺ อาเสฺตฯ
13 For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby.
โย ทุคฺธปายี ส ศิศุเรเวติการณาตฺ ธรฺมฺมวาเกฺย ตตฺปโร นาสฺติฯ
14 But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.
กินฺตุ สทสทฺวิจาเร เยษำ เจตำสิ วฺยวหาเรณ ศิกฺษิตานิ ตาทฺฤศานำ สิทฺธโลกานำ กโฐรทฺรเวฺยษุ ปฺรโยชนมสฺติฯ
