< Hebrews 10 >
1 For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.
Ri taqanik rech ri Moisés xaq uqꞌequꞌmal ri jastaq ri kape na, man qas ta areꞌ. Rumal riꞌ, ri taqanik man kakwin taj kubꞌan sukꞌ chike ri winaq ri chi junabꞌ kakitzuj ri sipanik ke ri kaminaq taq aꞌwaj.
2 Or else would not they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?
We ta qas xkwinik ri taqanik chi resaxik ri makaj chibꞌe qꞌij saq, mat bꞌa aꞌjmakibꞌ riꞌ kakinaꞌo xuqujeꞌ xetaniꞌ ta bꞌa riꞌ chutzujik ri sipanik kech kaminaq taq aꞌwaj cho ri Dios.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.
Man jeꞌ ta kꞌu riꞌ kakꞌulmatajik. We tzujuꞌnijik ri kabꞌanik junabꞌ chi junabꞌ xaq naꞌtabꞌal rech ri makaj
4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
Rumal cher ri kikikꞌel ri e wakax xuqujeꞌ ri e kꞌisikꞌ man kakwin taj kuchup ri makaj.
5 Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You did not desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.
Rumal riꞌ, are xpe ri Cristo cho ri uwachulew xubꞌij: Man kaqaj ta choch la ri sipanik xuqujeꞌ ri tzujuꞌnijik kech kaminaq taj aꞌwaj, rumal riꞌ xya la nutyoꞌjal.
6 You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.
Ri sipanik kech awaj ri keporoxik, xuqujeꞌ ri aꞌwaj ri ketzujik rech kakuyutaj kimak ri winaq man xqaj ta cho la.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”
Rumal ri xinbꞌij: Riꞌ in kꞌolik chubꞌanik ri kurayij ri animaꞌ la jetaq ri kubꞌij pa ri wuj ri tzꞌibꞌatalik.
8 Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you did not desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),
Nabꞌe xubꞌij: Tzujuꞌnijik xuqujeꞌ sipanik, e porom taq aꞌwaj xuqujeꞌ kikꞌ chupbꞌal rech ri makaj man xqaj ta choch la. (We jastaq riꞌ xetzujik jetaq ri kubꞌij ri taqanik.)
9 then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,
Kꞌa te riꞌ xubꞌij: In kꞌolik riꞌ, in petinaq chubꞌanik ri urayibꞌal kuꞌx la. Chesaj la ri nabꞌe chꞌekom tzij rech kajeqebꞌa la ri ukabꞌ.
10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Pa ri urayibꞌal ukꞌuꞌx ri Dios xbꞌantaj sukꞌ chaqe pa ri utyoꞌjal ri Cristo ri xa junmul xtzuj cho ri Dios chibꞌe qꞌij saq.
11 Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
Qas tzij wi ronojel chꞌawenel cho ri Dios pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq kubꞌan ri qꞌijilaꞌnem qꞌij chi qꞌij kutzuj ri sipanik kech taq aꞌwaj ri man kakwin ta wi karesaj ri makaj.
12 but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,
Are kꞌu ri Jesucristo are xtzujtaj ri xa jun sipanik choch ri makaj ri xjeqiꞌk chibꞌe qꞌij saq, xtꞌuyiꞌk pa uwiqiqꞌabꞌ ri Dios.
13 from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.
Xaq rayeꞌm chi keya ri ukꞌulel chuxeꞌ ri raqan rech kabꞌan chike chi kakimochꞌ kibꞌ.
14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
Jeriꞌ rumal xa rukꞌ jun sipanik xubꞌan sukꞌ chike ri utyoxirisam chik.
15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,
Ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel xuqujeꞌ kutzijoj rij are kubꞌij:
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;” then he says,
Are wa ri chꞌekom tzij ri kinbꞌan na kukꞌ are kikꞌow we qꞌotaj riꞌ, kacha ri Ajawxel. Kinya na ri nutaqanik pa kanimaꞌ xuqujeꞌ kintzꞌibꞌaj na pa ri kichomabꞌal.
17 “I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”
Xuqujeꞌ xubꞌij: Man kanaꞌtaj ta chi wi chwe ri ketzelal xuqujeꞌ ri kimak.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Jeriꞌ rumal cher we xkuyutaj ri makaj man kꞌo ta kutayij sipanik kech aꞌwaj katzujik cho ri makaj.
19 Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
Xaq jeriꞌ qachalal, rumal ri ukikꞌel ri Cristo yaꞌtal bꞌe chaqe kujokik pa ri sibꞌalaj Tyox kꞌolibꞌal.
20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,
Rumal cher are xkam ri Jesús, xujaq kanoq ri bꞌe are xuraqij ri tasbꞌal ri kujuqꞌatej. Kamik kꞌut ri Jesús kꞌaslik, xa rumal rech kujkwinik kujqebꞌ rukꞌ ri Dios pa jun kꞌakꞌ bꞌe.
21 and having a great priest over God’s house,
Rumal kꞌu che ri kꞌo jun nimalaj qakꞌamal bꞌe ri nabꞌe chikiwach konojel ri uꞌwinaq ri Dios,
22 let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water,
chujqebꞌ bꞌa rukꞌ ri Dios rukꞌ jun chꞌajchꞌoj laj animaꞌaj xuqujeꞌ qas ko kujkꞌojiꞌk rukꞌ kojobꞌal, man rukꞌ ta chꞌulujil ri kꞌo pa taq ri qachomabꞌal xuqujeꞌ qachꞌajom ri qatyoꞌjal rukꞌ chꞌajchꞌoj jaꞌ.
23 let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.
Ko chujkꞌoloq, jeqel qakꞌuꞌx chirij ri Dios rumal cher qas kubꞌan wi na ri ubꞌim loq chaqe.
24 Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,
Chel qakꞌuꞌx chiqajujunal rech jeriꞌ kujkwinik kaqaloqꞌaj qibꞌ xuqujeꞌ kaqabꞌan ri utz laj taq chak.
25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Mujtaniꞌk che ri bꞌenam pa taq ri mulim ibꞌ jetaq ri kakibꞌan e jujun, xane qataqchiꞌj qibꞌ chqajujunal, qas are qilij ubꞌanik jeriꞌ rumal ri qꞌij are katzalij loq ri Ajawxel xqebꞌ loq.
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,
We xetaꞌmataj ri qas tzij qumal kꞌa te riꞌ xaq jeꞌ kujmakunik, man kꞌo ta chi jun sipanik ri kakwinik kujukuyu.
27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.
Xane xaq xwi qayeꞌm ri kꞌaxkꞌolal rech ri qꞌaqꞌ ri kuꞌporoj na ri uꞌkꞌulel ri Dios.
28 A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.
Ojer, xapachin ri kilitajik kumal e kebꞌ winaq chi man kunimaj taj ri utaqanik ri Moisés, man katoqꞌobꞌisax ta uwach, xane kakamisaxik.
29 How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
La are kꞌu mat kaqꞌat tzij puꞌwiꞌ ri winaq ri karetzelaj uwach ri ukꞌojol ri Dios, ri kubꞌij chi man kꞌo ta kutayij ri ukamikal, ri jewaꞌ kenoꞌjinik kaketzelaj ri Uxlabꞌal rech ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios.
30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
Qetaꞌm uwach ri Dios, ri xubꞌij: In kintojow na ukꞌaxelal chike, in kinqꞌatow na tzij pa kiwiꞌ. Xuqujeꞌ xubꞌij: Ri Dios kuqꞌat na tzij pa kiwiꞌ ri utinimit.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
¡Sibꞌalaj kꞌax, we kaqꞌat tzij puꞌwiꞌ jun winaq rumal ri kꞌaslik Dios!
32 But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:
Chenaꞌtaj chiꞌwe ri kꞌaxkꞌolal ri xixikꞌow wi, are kꞌa te wi xixkojon che ri utz laj tzij.
33 partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.
Jujun mul xbꞌix itzel taq tzij chiꞌwe chikiwach sibꞌalaj e kꞌi winaq, kꞌo chi jujun mul xikubꞌisaj kikꞌuꞌx ri jewaꞌ xbꞌan chike.
34 For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.
Xuqujeꞌ xel ikꞌuꞌx chike ri e tzꞌapil pa taq cheꞌ, are xmaj ri iwechabꞌal pune kꞌax xiriqo, xixkiꞌkotik, rumal cher iwetaꞌm chi kꞌo jun jeꞌl laq iwechabꞌal ri man kasach ta uwach.
35 Therefore do not throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.
Mixtaniꞌk chujeqebꞌaxik ikꞌuꞌx chirij ri Dios rech jeriꞌ kikꞌamawaꞌj na jun nimalaj tojbꞌal iwe.
36 For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
Ko chixkꞌoloq rech are xbꞌantaj ri urayibꞌal ukꞌuꞌx ri Dios iwumal kikꞌamawaꞌj ri ubꞌim loq chiꞌwe:
37 “In a very little while, he who comes will come and will not wait.
Rumal cher man naj ta chik karaj, ri petik rij, kape na, man kabꞌeyetaj taj loq.
38 But the righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
Are kꞌu ri sukꞌ winaq kakꞌasiꞌ na rumal ri kojobꞌal, we kꞌu katzalij kanoq chirij makaqaj ta riꞌ chinuwach.
39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
Ri uj kꞌut, man uj kachiꞌl taj ri ketzalij kanoq, ri kasach kiwach, xane uj kachiꞌl ri kꞌo kikojobꞌal chuchajixik ri kikꞌaslemal.
