Hebrews 10
1 For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.
বিধান হল সন্নিকট বিষয়ের ছায়ামাত্র, সেগুলির বাস্তব রূপ নয়। সেই কারণে, বিধান অনুযায়ী বছরের পর বছর একইভাবে যে বলি উৎসর্গ করা হয় তা উপাসকদের সিদ্ধি দান করতে পারে না।
2 Or else would not they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?
যদি তা পারত, তাহলে সেগুলি উৎসর্গ করা কি বন্ধ হয়ে যেত না? কারণ উপাসকেরা চিরকালের মতো একবারেই শুচিশুদ্ধ হত, তাদের পাপের জন্য আর অপরাধবোধ করত না।
3 But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.
কিন্তু ওইসব বলিদান প্রতি বছর পাপের কথা স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়,
4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
কারণ ষাঁড় ও ছাগলের রক্ত পাপ হরণ করতেই পারে না।
5 Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You did not desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.
তাই খ্রীষ্ট যখন জগতে এসেছিলেন, তিনি বলেছিলেন, “তুমি বলিদানে ও নৈবেদ্যে প্রীত নও, কিন্তু আমার জন্য এক শরীর রচনা করেছ;
6 You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.
হোমবলি বা পাপার্থক বলি তুমি চাওনি।
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”
তখন আমি বললাম, ‘এই আমি, শাস্ত্রে আমার বিষয়ে লেখা আছে—হে আমার ঈশ্বর, আমি তোমার ইচ্ছা পালন করতেই এসেছি।’”
8 Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you did not desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),
প্রথমে তিনি বলেছিলেন, “বিভিন্ন বলিদান ও নৈবেদ্য এবং হোম ও পাপার্থক বলিদান তুমি চাওনি, তাতে তুমি প্রসন্নও ছিলে না।”
9 then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,
তারপর তিনি বললেন, “দেখো, এই আমি, তোমার ইচ্ছা পালন করতেই আমি এসেছি।” দ্বিতীয়টিকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করার জন্য তিনি প্রথম বিধানকে অগ্রাহ্য করলেন।
10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
সেই ইচ্ছার কারণেই, যীশু খ্রীষ্টের দেহ চিরকালের জন্য একবারই উৎসর্গ করা হয়েছে বলে আমরা পবিত্র হয়েছি।
11 Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
দিনের পর দিন, প্রত্যেক যাজক ধর্মীয় অনুষ্ঠান সম্পাদন করার জন্য দাঁড়িয়ে থাকেন; তিনি বারবার একই বলি উৎসর্গ করেন, যা কখনও পাপ হরণ করতে পারে না।
12 but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,
কিন্তু এই যাজক সব পাপের জন্য চিরকালের মতো একটিই বলি উৎসর্গ করলেন, তারপর তিনি ঈশ্বরের ডানদিকে গিয়ে বসলেন।
13 from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.
সেই সময় থেকে, তাঁর শত্রুদের তাঁর পদানত করার জন্য তিনি প্রতীক্ষা করে আছেন,
14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
কারণ তাঁর একবার মাত্র বলিদানের জন্য যাদের পবিত্র করা হচ্ছে, তাদের তিনি চিরকালের জন্য পূর্ণতা দান করেন।
15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,
এ বিষয়ে পবিত্র আত্মাও আমাদের কাছে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছেন। প্রথমে তিনি বলেন:
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;” then he says,
“সেই কালের পর আমি তাদের সঙ্গে এই নিয়ম স্থাপন করব, প্রভু একথা বলেন। আমি তাদের হৃদয়ে আমার বিধান রাখব এবং সেগুলি তাদের মনে লিখে রাখব।”
17 “I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”
এরপর তিনি বলেন, “আমি তাদের পাপ ও অনাচার, আর কোনোদিন স্মরণ করব না।”
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
যেখানে এগুলি ক্ষমা করা হয়েছে, সেখানে পাপের জন্য বলিদানের আর প্রয়োজন হয় না।
19 Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
অতএব ভাইবোনেরা, যীশুর রক্তের মাধ্যমে মহাপবিত্র স্থানে প্রবেশ করার আমাদের দৃঢ় নিশ্চয়তা আছে।
20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,
পর্দা অর্থাৎ তাঁর দেহের মাধ্যমে তিনি আমাদের জন্য এক নতুন ও জীবন্ত পথ উন্মুক্ত করেছেন,
21 and having a great priest over God’s house,
এবং যেহেতু ঈশ্বরের গৃহের উপরে নিযুক্ত আমাদের একজন মহান যাজক আছেন,
22 let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water,
তাই এসো রক্ত সিঞ্চনের দ্বারা অপরাধী বিবেক থেকে আমাদের হৃদয়কে শুচিশুদ্ধ করে এবং নির্মল জলে আমাদের দেহ ধুয়ে বিশ্বাসের পূর্ণ নিশ্চয়তায় সরল হৃদয়ে ঈশ্বরের কাছে উপস্থিত হই।
23 let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.
এসো, আমরা অবিচলভাবে আমাদের প্রত্যাশার স্বীকারোক্তি আঁকড়ে ধরে থাকি, কারণ যিনি প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন, তিনি বিশ্বস্ত।
24 Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,
আবার এসো, আমরা এও বিবেচনা করে দেখি, কীভাবে আমরা পরস্পরকে প্রেমে ও সৎকর্মে উদ্বুদ্ধ করতে পারি।
25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
এসো, আমরা সভায় একত্রিত হওয়ার অভ্যাস পরিত্যাগ না করি, কেউ কেউ যেমন এতে অভ্যস্ত হয়ে উঠেছে। বরং এসো পরস্পরকে উৎসাহিত করি, বিশেষত আরও বেশি তৎপর হয়ে করি, কারণ তোমরা দেখতেই পাচ্ছ প্রভুর আগমনের সেইদিন ক্রমশ এগিয়ে আসছে।
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,
আবার সত্যের তত্ত্বজ্ঞান লাভ করার পর আমরা যদি স্বেচ্ছায় পাপ করতে থাকি, তাহলে ওইসব পাপ ক্ষমা করার জন্য বলিদানের আর ব্যবস্থা থাকে না,
27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.
থাকে শুধু বিচারের জন্য ভয়াবহ প্রতীক্ষা এবং ঈশ্বরের শত্রুদের গ্রাস করার জন্য প্রচণ্ড আগুন।
28 A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.
কেউ মোশির বিধান লঙ্ঘন করলে, দুজন বা তিনজনের সাক্ষ্য প্রমাণে তাকে নির্দয়ভাবে হত্যা করা হত।
29 How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
তাহলে যে ঈশ্বরের পুত্রকে পদদলিত করেছে, নিয়মের রক্ত দ্বারা শুচিশুদ্ধ হয়েও যে তা অপবিত্র জ্ঞান করেছে এবং যে অনুগ্রহের আত্মাকে অপমান করেছে, সে আরও কত না কঠোর শাস্তির যোগ্য বলে তোমাদের মনে হয়?
30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
কারণ যিনি বলেছেন, “প্রতিশোধ নেওয়া আমারই কাজ, আমি প্রতিফল দেব,” তাঁকে আমরা জানি। আবার, “প্রভুই তাঁর প্রজাদের বিচার করবেন।”
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
জীবন্ত ঈশ্বরের হাতে পড়া ভয়ংকর বিষয়!
32 But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:
ঈশ্বরের আলো পাওয়ার পর প্রাথমিক সেই দিনগুলির কথা তোমরা স্মরণ করো, যখন তোমরা দুঃখকষ্টের মুখোমুখি হয়ে কঠোর সংগ্রামে রত ছিলে।
33 partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.
কখনও কখনও তোমরা প্রকাশ্যে অপমানিত হয়েছ, অত্যাচার ভোগ করছ; অন্য সময়ে যাদের প্রতি এরকম আচরণ করা হয়েছিল, তোমরা তাদের সহভাগী হয়েছ।
34 For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.
তোমরা কারাগারে বন্দিদের প্রতি সহানুভূতি দেখিয়েছ এবং তোমাদের সম্পত্তি বাজেয়াপ্ত হলেও তা সানন্দে মেনে নিয়েছ, কারণ তোমরা জানতে যে, তোমাদের জন্য এক উৎকৃষ্টতর ও স্থায়ী সম্পত্তি রাখা আছে।
35 Therefore do not throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.
তাই তোমরা তোমাদের নির্ভরতা ত্যাগ কোরো না, তা পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে পুরস্কৃত হবে।
36 For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
তোমাদের ধৈর্য ধরার প্রয়োজন আছে, যেন ঈশ্বরের ইচ্ছা পালন করে তিনি যা প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছেন, তা লাভ করতে পারো।
37 “In a very little while, he who comes will come and will not wait.
কারণ, আর অতি অল্পকাল পরেই, “যাঁর আগমন সন্নিকট, তিনি আসবেন, বিলম্ব করবেন না।
38 But the righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
কিন্তু আমার ধার্মিক ব্যক্তি, বিশ্বাসের দ্বারাই জীবিত থাকবে। যদি সে পিছিয়ে পড়ে, আমি তার প্রতি প্রসন্ন হব না।”
39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
যারা পিছিয়ে পড়ে ও বিনষ্ট হয়, আমরা তাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত নই; যারা বিশ্বাস করে ও পরিত্রাণ পায়, আমরা তাদেরই সহভাগী।
