< Amos 8 >

1 Thus the Lord GOD showed me: behold, a basket of summer fruit.
Ihe a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị gosiri m. Otu nkata nke mkpụrụ osisi ọkọchị chara acha jupụtara.
2 He said, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the LORD said to me, “The end has come on my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.
Ọ sịrị m, “Emọs, gịnị ka ị na-ahụ?” A sịrị m: “Otu nkata nke mkpụrụ osisi chara acha jupụtara nʼime ya.” Mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị sịrị m, “Oge ọgwụgwụ abịakwasịla ndị m, Izrel. Agaghị m ewezugakwa ntaramahụhụ dịrị ha.”
3 The songs of the temple will be wailing in that day,” says the Lord GOD. “The dead bodies will be many. In every place they will throw them out with silence.
Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara, “Nʼụbọchị ahụ, abụ niile nke a na-abụ nʼime ụlọnsọ ukwu ga-aghọ iti mkpu akwa. Ọtụtụ, ọtụtụ ozu ndị nwụrụ anwụ, nʼebe niile ọbụla ka atụpụsịrị ha! Mkpọtụ ọbụla adịghịkwa!”
4 Hear this, you who desire to swallow up the needy, and cause the poor of the land to fail,
Nụrụnụ nke a, unu ndị na-azọpịa ndị mkpa na-akpa, na-emekwa ka ụmụ ogbenye dị nʼala a gwụsịa,
5 saying, ‘When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may market wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel large, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;
na-asị, “Olee mgbe ọnwa ọhụrụ ga-agafe ka anyị ree mkpụrụ ubi, na mgbe ụbọchị izuike ga-agwụ ka anyị ree ọka wiiti?” Ka anyị jiri ihe ọtụtụ dị nta, na ibuli ọnụ ngwa ahịa elu, na aghụghọ site nʼiji ihe ọtụtụ na-ezughị ezu.

7 The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob, “Surely I will never forget any of their works.
Onyenwe anyị ewerela nganga Jekọb ṅụọ iyi, “Nʼezie, agaghị m echefu, ọ bụladị otu nʼime ọrụ niile ha rụrụ.”
8 Will not the land tremble for this, and everyone mourn who dwells in it? Yes, it will rise up wholly like the River; and it will be stirred up and sink again, like the River of Egypt.
Ọ bụ na ala agaghị ama jijiji nʼihi nke a, ndị niile bi nʼime ya ha agaghị eru ụjụ? Ala a niile ga-etoju dịka osimiri Naịl, a ga-eme ka ọ magharịa malie elu, ma tachaa dịka iyi Ijipt.
9 It will happen in that day,” says the Lord GOD, “that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.
“Ma nʼụbọchị ahụ,” otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya, “Aga m eme ka anyanwụ daa nʼetiti ehihie, ime ka ọchịchịrị dịrị nʼetiti oke ehihie nke ụbọchị.
10 I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will make you wear sackcloth on all your bodies, and baldness on every head. I will make it like the mourning for an only son, and its end like a bitter day.
11 Behold, the days come,” says the Lord GOD, “that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the LORD’s words.
“Lee, ụbọchị ndị ahụ na-abịa,” otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya, “mgbe m ga-eziga oke ụnwụ nʼelu ala, ọ bụghị ụnwụ nke nri maọbụ nke akpịrị ịkpọ nkụ nke mmiri, kama ọ bụ oke ụnwụ nke ịnụ okwu niile nke Onyenwe anyị.
12 They will wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east; they will run back and forth to seek the LORD’s word, and will not find it.
Ha ga-awagharị site nʼotu osimiri ruo nʼosimiri ọzọ, sitekwa nʼugwu ruo nʼọwụwa anyanwụ; ha ga-agbagharị nʼelu na ala ịchọ okwu Onyenwe anyị, ma ha agaghị achọta ya.
13 In that day the beautiful virgins and the young men will faint for thirst.
“Nʼụbọchị ahụ, “ụmụ agbọghọ ndị mara mma ile anya, na ụmụ okorobịa ndị dị ike ga-ada mba nʼihi akpịrị ịkpọ nkụ.
14 Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, ‘As your god, Dan, lives,’ and, ‘As the way of Beersheba lives,’ they will fall, and never rise up again.”
Ndị ahụ na-eji mmehie Sameria na-aṅụ iyi, ndị na-asị, ‘Dịka chi gị na-adị ndụ, gị Dan,’ nakwa, ‘Ebe ọ bụ na chi ndị Bịasheba na-adị ndụ,’ ha ga-ada, ha agakwaghị ebilite ọzọ.”
