Amos 5
1 Listen to this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Israel:
೧ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ವಂಶದವರೇ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೋಕಗೀತವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡುವ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ:
2 “The virgin of Israel has fallen; She shall rise no more. She is cast down on her land; there is no one to raise her up.”
೨ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೆಂಬ ಯುವತಿಯು ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ; ಮತ್ತೆ ಏಳುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ; ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒರಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ; ಅವಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಲು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
3 For the Lord GOD says: “The city that went out a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went out one hundred shall have ten left to the house of Israel.”
೩ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಒಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟ ಸಾವಿರ ಸೈನಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಉಳಿಯುವರು, ಒಂದು ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟ ನೂರು ಸೈನಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ವಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತು ಜನ ನಿಲ್ಲುವರು.”
4 For the LORD says to the house of Israel: “Seek me, and you will live;
೪ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ವಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ: “ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿ ಬದುಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ!
5 but do not seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and do not pass to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
೫ಬೇತೇಲನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲನ್ನು ಸೇರಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾತ್ರೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸೆರೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದು. ಬೇತೇಲು ಬಯಲಾಗುವುದು.
6 Seek the LORD, and you will live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be no one to quench it in Bethel.
೬ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಬದುಕಿರಿ, ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಿದ್ದರೆ ಆತನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ವಂಶದೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವನು. ಅದು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದು, ಅದನ್ನು ಆರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
7 You who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth!
೭ಅವರು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಕಹಿಮಾಡುವವರು ಮತ್ತು ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವವರು!”
8 Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the LORD is his name,
೮ಕೃತ್ತಿಕಾ ಮತ್ತು ಒರಿಯನ್ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾದ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲನ್ನು ಬೆಳಕನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಹಗಲನ್ನು ಇರುಳಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ, ಸಾಗರದ ಜಲವನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಭೂಮಂಡಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿಯುವಾತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನೆಂಬುದೇ ಆತನ ನಾಮಧೇಯ!
9 who brings sudden destruction on the strong, so that destruction comes on the fortress.
೯ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಿಗೆ ಧ್ವಂಸವನ್ನು ತಟ್ಟನೇ ತಂದೊಡ್ಡಿ, ಕೋಟೆಗೆ ನಾಶನವನ್ನು ತರುವವನು ಆತನೇ.
10 They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they abhor him who speaks blamelessly.
೧೦ಕಂಡ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಚಾವಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಖಂಡಿಸುವವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಗೆತೋರಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ, ಯಥಾರ್ಥರನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ.
11 Therefore, because you trample on the poor and take taxes from him of wheat, you have built houses of cut stone, but you will not dwell in them. You have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.
೧೧ನೀವು ಬಡವರನ್ನು ತುಳಿದು, ಅವರಿಂದ ಗೋದಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕಾರಣ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ಕಲ್ಲಿನಿಂದ ನೀವು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ವಾಸಿಸದೆ ಇರುವಿರಿ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ತೋಟಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅದರ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವಿರಿ.
12 For I know how many are your offenses, and how great are your sins— you who afflict the just, who take a bribe, and who turn away the needy in the courts.
೧೨ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವವರೇ, ಲಂಚತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರೇ, ಚಾವಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದರಿದ್ರರ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವವರೇ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳು ಬಹಳ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ.
13 Therefore a prudent person keeps silent in such a time, for it is an evil time.
೧೩ಇಂಥ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವೇಕಿಯು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರುವನು, ಇದು ದುಷ್ಟ ಕಾಲವೇ ಸರಿ.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the LORD, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you say.
೧೪ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನಲ್ಲ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು, ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ಬಾಳಿರಿ. ನೀವು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಂತೆ, ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವನು.
15 Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the courts. It may be that the LORD, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”
೧೫ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸಿರಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿರಿ, ಚಾವಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿರಿ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ವಂಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನನಾದನು.
16 Therefore the LORD, the God of Armies, the Lord, says: “Wailing will be in all the wide ways. They will say in all the streets, ‘Alas! Alas!’ They will call the farmer to mourning, and those who are skillful in lamentation to wailing.
೧೬ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ದೇವರಾದ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ: “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚೌಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರುಚಾಟವಾಗುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಸಕಲ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ‘ಅಯ್ಯೋ! ಅಯ್ಯೋ!’ ಎಂದು ಅರಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು. ರೈತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಗೋಳಾಟದವರನ್ನು ಗೋಳಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕರೆಯುವರು.
17 In all vineyards there will be wailing, for I will pass through the middle of you,” says the LORD.
೧೭ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ತೋಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರೋದನವಾಗುವುದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಡುವೆ ಸಂಹಾರಕನಾಗಿ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುವೆನು” ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.
18 “Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light.
೧೮ಯೆಹೋವನ ದಿನವನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಏನು ಹೇಳಲಿ! ಯೆಹೋವನ ದಿನವು ನಿಮಗೇಕೆ? ಅದು ಬೆಳಕಲ್ಲ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯೇ.
19 As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.
೧೯ಸಿಂಹದ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಓಡಿದವನಿಗೆ, ಕರಡಿಯು ಎದುರುಬಿದ್ದಂತಾಗುವುದು, ಅವನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಓಡಿಬಂದು, ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಲು, ಹಾವು ಕಚ್ಚಿದ ಹಾಗಾಗುವುದು.
20 Will not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?
೨೦ಯೆಹೋವನ ದಿನವು ಬೆಳಕಲ್ಲ; ಕತ್ತಲೆಯೇ! ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಗಾಢಾಂಧಕಾರವೇ!
21 I hate, I despise your feasts, and I cannot stand your solemn assemblies.
೨೧“ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ, ತುಚ್ಛೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ಸವಗಳ ವಾಸನೆಯೇ ನನಗೆ ಬೇಡ.
22 Yes, though you offer me your burnt offerings and meal offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.
೨೨ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರೂ, ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಯಜ್ಞವಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
23 Take away from me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
೨೩ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗೀತೆಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಸಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ವೀಣೆಗಳ ಮಧುರನಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
24 But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.
೨೪ಅದರ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯವು ಹೊಳೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಹರಿಯಲಿ, ಧರ್ಮವು ಮಹಾನದಿಯಂತೆ ಹರಿಯಲಿ.
25 “Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?
೨೫ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ವಂಶದವರೇ ನೀವು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ನನಗೆ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದೀರೋ?
26 You also carried the tent of your king and the shrine of your images, the star of your god, which you made for yourselves.
೨೬ಸಿಕ್ಕೊತ್ ಎಂಬ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನನ್ನು, ಕಿಯೂನ್ ಎಂಬ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ ದೇವತೆಯನ್ನು, ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು.
27 Therefore I will cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus,” says the LORD, whose name is the God of Armies.
೨೭ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಆಚೆ ಸೆರೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು” ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ದೇವರೆಂಬ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇದನ್ನು ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
