Acts 3
1 Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Pedro y Juan subían al templo a la hora de la oración, la hora novena.
2 A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.
Llevaban a un hombre cojo desde el vientre de su madre, al que ponían cada día a la puerta del templo que se llama Hermoso, para pedir limosna para los necesitados de los que entraban en el templo.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.
Viendo a Pedro y a Juan a punto de entrar en el templo, les pidió limosna.
4 Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”
Pedro, fijando sus ojos en él, con Juan, le dijo: “Míranos”.
5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.
Él les escuchó, esperando recibir algo de ellos.
6 But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
Pero Pedro dijo: “No tengo plata ni oro, pero lo que tengo, eso te doy. En nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, levántate y anda”.
7 He took him by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.
Lo tomó de la mano derecha y lo levantó. Al instante, sus pies y los huesos de sus tobillos cobraron fuerza.
8 Leaping up, he stood and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.
Se levantó de un salto y comenzó a caminar. Entró con ellos en el templo, caminando, saltando y alabando a Dios.
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.
Todo el pueblo lo vio caminar y alabar a Dios.
10 They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
Le reconocieron, que era él quien solía sentarse a pedir limosna a la puerta del templo, la Hermosa. Se llenaron de asombro y admiración por lo que le había sucedido.
11 As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
Mientras el cojo que había sido curado se agarraba a Pedro y a Juan, todo el pueblo corría junto a ellos en el pórtico que se llama de Salomón, muy maravillado.
12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?
Al verlo, Pedro respondió al pueblo: “Hombres de Israel, ¿por qué os maravilláis de este hombre? ¿Por qué fijáis vuestros ojos en nosotros, como si por nuestro propio poder o piedad le hubiéramos hecho caminar?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
El Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob, el Dios de nuestros padres, ha glorificado a su Siervo Jesús, a quien vosotros entregasteis y negasteis en presencia de Pilato, cuando éste había decidido liberarlo.
14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
Pero vosotros negasteis al Santo y Justo y pedisteis que se os concediera un homicida,
15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.
y matasteis al Príncipe de la vida, a quien Dios resucitó de entre los muertos, de lo cual somos testigos.
16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Por la fe en su nombre, su nombre ha hecho fuerte a este hombre, al que veis y conocéis. Sí, la fe que es por él le ha dado esta perfecta sanidad en presencia de todos vosotros.
17 “Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
“Ahora bien, hermanos, sé que lo hicisteis por ignorancia, como también lo hicieron vuestros gobernantes.
18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
Pero las cosas que Dios anunció por boca de todos sus profetas, que Cristo había de padecer, las cumplió así.
19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
“Arrepiéntanse, pues, y vuélvanse, para que sean borrados sus pecados, a fin de que vengan tiempos de refrigerio de la presencia del Señor,
20 and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before,
y para que él envíe a Cristo Jesús, que fue ordenado para ustedes antes,
21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke from the age (aiōn g165) by the mouth of his holy prophets.
a quien el cielo debe recibir hasta los tiempos de la restauración de todas las cosas, de la que Dios habló hace mucho tiempo por boca de sus santos profetas. (aiōn g165)
22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.
En efecto, Moisés dijo a los padres: “El Señor Dios os suscitará un profeta de entre vuestros hermanos, como yo. Le escucharéis en todo lo que os diga.
23 It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
Será que toda persona que no escuche a ese profeta será totalmente destruida de entre el pueblo.’
24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, also told of these days.
Sí, y todos los profetas, desde Samuel y los que le siguieron, todos los que han hablado, también contaron estos días.
25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘All the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.’
Vosotros sois los hijos de los profetas y de la alianza que Dios hizo con nuestros padres, diciendo a Abraham: ‘Todas las familias de la tierra serán bendecidas por tu descendencia’.
26 God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.”
Dios, habiendo suscitado a su siervo Jesús, os lo envió primero para bendeciros, apartando a cada uno de vosotros de vuestra maldad.”
