2 Corinthians 3
1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?
¿Empezamos de nuevo a elogiarnos a nosotros mismos? ¿O necesitamos, como algunos, cartas de recomendación para vosotros, o de recomendación de vosotros?
2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men,
Vosotros sois nuestra carta, escrita en nuestros corazones, conocida y leída por todos los hombres,
3 being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.
siendo revelada que sois una carta de Cristo, servida por nosotros, escrita no con tinta, sino con el Espíritu del Dios vivo; no en tablas de piedra, sino en tablas que son corazones de carne.
4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God,
Tal es la confianza que tenemos para con Dios por medio de Cristo,
5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God,
no es que nos bastemos a nosotros mismos para dar cuenta de algo como de nosotros mismos, sino que nuestra suficiencia proviene de Dios,
6 who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
quien también nos hizo suficientes como servidores de un nuevo pacto, no de la letra sino del Espíritu. Porque la letra mata, pero el Espíritu da vida.
7 But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face, which was passing away,
Pero si el servicio de la muerte, escrito y grabado en las piedras, vino con gloria, de modo que los hijos de Israel no pudieron mirar fijamente el rostro de Moisés por la gloria de su rostro, que pasaba,
8 will not service of the Spirit be with much more glory?
¿no será el servicio del Espíritu con mucha más gloria?
9 For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.
Porque si el servicio de la condenación tiene gloria, el servicio de la justicia excede mucho más en gloria.
10 For most certainly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses.
Porque ciertamente lo que ha sido hecho glorioso no ha sido hecho glorioso en este sentido, a causa de la gloria que sobrepasa.
11 For if that which passes away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.
Porque si lo que pasa fue con gloria, mucho más glorioso lo que queda.
12 Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,
Teniendo, pues, tal esperanza, usamos gran audacia de palabra,
13 and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face so that the children of Israel would not look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away.
y no como Moisés, que puso un velo sobre su rostro para que los hijos de Israel no miraran fijamente el fin de lo que pasaba.
14 But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away.
Pero sus mentes se endurecieron, pues hasta el día de hoy en la lectura del antiguo pacto permanece el mismo velo, porque en Cristo pasa.
15 But to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
Pero hasta el día de hoy, cuando se lee a Moisés, un velo permanece en su corazón.
16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
Pero cuando alguien se vuelve al Señor, el velo se quita.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Ahora bien, el Señor es el Espíritu; y donde está el Espíritu del Señor, allí está la libertad.
18 But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.
Pero todos nosotros, viendo a cara descubierta la gloria del Señor como en un espejo, nos transformamos de gloria en gloria en la misma imagen, como por el Señor, el Espíritu.
