2 Chronicles 27

1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.

Giô-tham được hai mươi lăm tuổi khi người lên ngôi làm vua, và người cai trị mười sáu năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; mẹ người tên là Giê-ru-sa, con gái của Xa-đốc.

2 He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, according to all that his father Uzziah had done. However he did not enter into the LORD’s temple. The people still acted corruptly.

Người làm điều thiện trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va, y theo mọi điều Ô-xia, cha người, đã làm; song người không vào đền thờ của Đức Giê-hô-va; còn dân sự lại càng làm luông tuồng nữa.

3 He built the upper gate of the LORD’s house, and he built much on the wall of Ophel.

Người xây cửa trên của đền Đức Giê-hô-va, và xây nhiều trên tường thành Ô-phên.

4 Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers.

Người cũng xây những thành trong miền núi Giu-đa, và đền đài cùng những tháp ở trên rừng.

5 He also fought with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. The children of Ammon gave him the same year one hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. The children of Ammon also gave that much to him in the second year, and in the third.

Người đánh giặc với vua dân Am-môn, và thắng được chúng. Trong năm đó, dân Am-môn nộp cho người một trăm ta lâng bạc một vạn cô-rơ lúa miến, và một vạn cô-rơ lúa mạch. Trong năm thứ nhì và thứ ba, dân Am-môn cũng tiến cống người số ấy.

6 So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.

Vậy, Giô-tham trở nên cường thạnh, bởi vì người đi đường chánh đáng trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va, là Đức Chúa Trời mình.

7 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

Các công việc khác của Giô-tham, hết thảy những chiến trận và đường lối của người, đều chép trong sách các vua Y-sơ-ra-ên và Giu-đa.

8 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

Người được hai mươi lăm tuổi khi lên làm vua, và người cai trị mười sáu năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

9 Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city; and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

Người an giấc cùng tổ tiên mình, người ta chôn người tại trong thành Đa-vít; đoạn A-cha, con trai người, cai trị thế cho người.
