< 1 Timothy 3 >

1 This is a faithful saying: someone who seeks to be an overseer desires a good work.
Hiche hi tahsanthei ding doltah'a kisei ahi. “Khattouvin Houbung Upa hi ding natoh anopleh amachun ja umtah panmun adei ahi.”
2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
Hijehchun Houbung Upa ding chu ja umtah nolnabei hinkho mang hiding ahi. Aji ang'a kitah ding, ama le ama kitimjoumi hiding, chingthei tah a hing hiding, chule minphat na nei hiding ahi. Jindot them chule mihilthem hiding ahi.
3 not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
Ama chu julopmi ahiloule agilou hilou ding ahi. Ama chu milungneng hiding, mitoh kinahat hilou ding, chule sum ngailu lou mi hiding ahi.
4 one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
A-insung kipohtupjou mi, achaten ajathei le athua nunsah joumi hiding ahi.
5 (for how could someone who does not know how to rule his own house take care of God’s assembly?)
Ajehchu a-insung akivettup joulouleh Pathen houbung chu iti avettup jouding ham?
6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
Houbung Upa ding chu tahsanthah hilou ding ahi, ajeh chu hung kiletsah intin Diabolin asuhlhuh ding ahi.
7 Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.
Chujong leh, pam a miho seiphat changmi hiding ahi, achuti louleh miseiset achanna-a kon chun Diabol thangkolah ohkhaget inte.
8 Servants, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money,
Chutobang ma chun deacon panmun loding ho jong chu ja-um mi chuleh kitahna neimi hiding, ju'a lopmi hilou ding, sum a kitahlou mi hilou ding ahi.
9 holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
Tahsan thugil tua kiphongdoh thudol'a kipeh theng nanei, chule lungthengsel a hing mi hidiu ahi.
10 Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless.
Amahohi Deacon a akipansah masanga hoitah a kholchil masat ding, alhin uva ahileh Deacon panmun a pang ding ahiuve.
11 Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things.
Hitobangma-a chu ajiteu jong ja um mi hiding, miseiset hat hilou ding, amale ama kitimjoumi hiding chuleh anatohna jousea jong kitahna neimi hiding ahiuve.
12 Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
Deacon ho chu jikhat neimi hiding chuleh achateu leh a-insung kivetsuijou mi hiding,
13 For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Deacon natohna a lolhingtah michun mipia kon a jana changdiu hichun Yeshua Christa atahsannau toh tahsan aumnau asuhpung ding ahi.
14 These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly,
Nakom u hunglhunvah ding kinepna kanei jing vang'in tun hiche hohi kahin sun e.
15 but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Ijemtia keima kahunggei khah leh Pathen insung mite iti chondiu ham ti nahettheina dinga kati ahi. Hiche hi hingjing Pathen houbung ahin, hichu thutah kingapna khombul ahi.
16 Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
Kinelna beihel in, hiche hi itahsan nauthugil loupitah chu ahi. Christa chu mihem a hung kilanga Lhagaovin atahlanga vantil hon amuu ahi. Ama thuhi chitin namtin lah-a akiphong jal in vannoi miten atahsan un chuleh loupitah in van ah lahtouvin aumtai.
