1 Thessalonians 5
1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
හේ භ්‍රාතරඃ, කාලාන් සමයාංශ්චාධි යුෂ්මාන් ප්‍රති මම ලිඛනං නිෂ්ප්‍රයෝජනං,
2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
යතෝ රාත්‍රෞ යාදෘක් තස්කරස්තාදෘක් ප්‍රභෝ ර්දිනම් උපස්ථාස්‍යතීති යූයං ස්වයමේව සම්‍යග් ජානීථ|
3 For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.
ශාන්ති ර්නිර්ව්වින්ඝත්වඤ්ච විද්‍යත ඉති යදා මානවා වදිෂ්‍යන්ති තදා ප්‍රසවවේදනා යද්වද් ගර්බ්භිනීම් උපතිෂ්ඨති තද්වද් අකස්මාද් විනාශස්තාන් උපස්ථාස්‍යති තෛරුද්ධාරෝ න ලප්ස්‍යතේ|
4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
කින්තු හේ භ්‍රාතරඃ, යූයම් අන්ධකාරේණාවෘතා න භවථ තස්මාත් තද්දිනං තස්කර ඉව යුෂ්මාන් න ප්‍රාප්ස්‍යති|
5 You are all children of light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night, nor to darkness,
සර්ව්වේ යූයං දීප්තේඃ සන්තානා දිවායාශ්ච සන්තානා භවථ වයං නිශාවංශාස්තිමිරවංශා වා න භවාමඃ|
6 so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
අතෝ (අ)පරේ යථා නිද්‍රාගතාඃ සන්ති තද්වද් අස්මාභි ර්න භවිතව්‍යං කින්තු ජාගරිතව්‍යං සචේතනෛශ්ච භවිතව්‍යං|
7 For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
යේ නිද්‍රාන්ති තේ නිශායාමේව නිද්‍රාන්ති තේ ච මත්තා භවන්ති තේ රජන්‍යාමේව මත්තා භවන්ති|
8 But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
කින්තු වයං දිවසස්‍ය වංශා භවාමඃ; අතෝ (අ)ස්මාභි ර්වක්‍ෂසි ප්‍රත්‍යයප්‍රේමරූපං කවචං ශිරසි ච පරිත්‍රාණාශාරූපං ශිරස්ත්‍රං පරිධාය සචේතනෛ ර්භවිතව්‍යං|
9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
යත ඊශ්වරෝ(අ)ස්මාන් ක්‍රෝධේ න නියුජ්‍යාස්මාකං ප්‍රභුනා යීශුඛ්‍රීෂ්ටේන පරිත්‍රාණස්‍යාධිකාරේ නියුක්තවාන්,
10 who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
ජාග්‍රතෝ නිද්‍රාගතා වා වයං යත් තේන ප්‍රභුනා සහ ජීවාමස්තදර්ථං සෝ(අ)ස්මාකං කෘතේ ප්‍රාණාන් ත්‍යක්තවාන්|
11 Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
අතඒව යූයං යද්වත් කුරුථ තද්වත් පරස්පරං සාන්ත්වයත සුස්ථිරීකුරුධ්වඤ්ච|
12 But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
හේ භ්‍රාතරඃ, යුෂ්මාකං මධ්‍යේ යේ ජනාඃ පරිශ්‍රමං කුර්ව්වන්ති ප්‍රභෝ ර්නාම්නා යුෂ්මාන් අධිතිෂ්ඨන්ත්‍යුපදිශන්ති ච තාන් යූයං සම්මන්‍යධ්වං|
13 and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
ස්වකර්ම්මහේතුනා ච ප්‍රේම්නා තාන් අතීවාදෘයධ්වමිති මම ප්‍රාර්ථනා, යූයං පරස්පරං නිර්ව්විරෝධා භවත|
14 We exhort you, brothers: Admonish the disorderly; encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient toward all.
හේ භ්‍රාතරඃ, යුෂ්මාන් විනයාමහේ යූයම් අවිහිතාචාරිණෝ ලෝකාන් භර්ත්සයධ්වං, ක්‍ෂුද්‍රමනසඃ සාන්ත්වයත, දුර්බ්බලාන් උපකුරුත, සර්ව්වාන් ප්‍රති සහිෂ්ණවෝ භවත ච|
15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
අපරං කමපි ප්‍රත්‍යනිෂ්ටස්‍ය ඵලම් අනිෂ්ටං කේනාපි යන්න ක්‍රියේත තදර්ථං සාවධානා භවත, කින්තු පරස්පරං සර්ව්වාන් මානවාංශ්ච ප්‍රති නිත්‍යං හිතාචාරිණෝ භවත|
16 Always rejoice.
සර්ව්වදානන්දත|
17 Pray without ceasing.
නිරන්තරං ප්‍රාර්ථනාං කුරුධ්වං|
18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
සර්ව්වවිෂයේ කෘතඥතාං ස්වීකුරුධ්වං යත ඒතදේව ඛ්‍රීෂ්ටයීශුනා යුෂ්මාන් ප්‍රති ප්‍රකාශිතම් ඊශ්වරාභිමතං|
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
පවිත්‍රම් ආත්මානං න නිර්ව්වාපයත|
20 Do not despise prophecies.
ඊශ්වරීයාදේශං නාවජානීත|
21 Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
සර්ව්වාණි පරීක්‍ෂ්‍ය යද් භද්‍රං තදේව ධාරයත|
22 Abstain from every form of evil.
යත් කිමපි පාපරූපං භවති තස්මාද් දූරං තිෂ්ඨත|
23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
ශාන්තිදායක ඊශ්වරඃ ස්වයං යුෂ්මාන් සම්පූර්ණත්වේන පවිත්‍රාන් කරෝතු, අපරම් අස්මත්ප්‍රභෝ ර‍්‍යීශුඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍යාගමනං යාවද් යුෂ්මාකම් ආත්මානඃ ප්‍රාණාඃ ශරීරාණි ච නිඛිලානි නිර්ද්දෝෂත්වේන රක්‍ෂ්‍යන්තාං|
24 He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
යෝ යුෂ්මාන් ආහ්වයති ස විශ්වසනීයෝ(අ)තඃ ස තත් සාධයිෂ්‍යති|
25 Brothers, pray for us.
හේ භ්‍රාතරඃ, අස්මාකං කෘතේ ප්‍රාර්ථනාං කුරුධ්වං|
26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
පවිත්‍රචුම්බනේන සර්ව්වාන් භ්‍රාතෘන් ප්‍රති සත්කුරුධ්වං|
27 I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
පත්‍රමිදං සර්ව්වේෂාං පවිත්‍රාණාං භ්‍රාතෘණාං ශ්‍රුතිගෝචරේ යුෂ්මාභිඃ පඨ්‍යතාමිති ප්‍රභෝ ර්නාම්නා යුෂ්මාන් ශපයාමි|
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
අස්මාකං ප්‍රභෝ ර‍්‍යීශුඛ්‍රීෂ්ටස්‍යානුග්‍රතේ යුෂ්මාසු භූයාත්| ආමේන්|
